Well I don’t quite think he’s broken into the Japanese film industry

[up]He would be a perfect Hollow.

Of course Kubo himself put the kibosh on a Western Bleach film a while ago. Luckily for him, Netflix means you’re green lit.

Ishida's aim is not fantastic in this film. Either he shoots a LOT of warning shots, or his aim is just terrible.

I found the film pretty decent...albeit the fact it's unlikely to get a sequel makes the ending sting.

Ishida only fired like what 5-6 arrows throughout the entire movie?

Two at Renji which he dodged. One into the sky when he was showing off to Ichigo, and then like 2-3 during the Grand Fisher fight. Which all landed. Maybe not in their intended locations but they all hit. So that's about 50 percent accuracy. Which I'd say is reasonably good.

Remember that Manga/Anime Ishida could snipe independently flying ninja stars out of the air by the dozen.

I just learned that the Bleach film was on Netflix and watched it.

Holy shit, I loved it. The fights were all incredible, the acting was stellar (Rukia's goodbye to Ichigo was so powerful), the music was on point, the CG was pretty solid, and the plot was pretty good. It's definitely not without its problems (the beginning is really rushed) but I loved it.

I could definitely see how some people wouldn't like it since everyone other than Ichigo and Rukia is pushed to the side but I think that was a smart move. By reigning in the focus to only the characters that are important to the story they wanted to tell, they managed to do a lot more than if the focus had been spread out between everyone. They wanted to make a movie about Ichigo and Rukia and that's exactly what they did. The fact that they're my favorite part of the entire show helped a lot in my case.

The fact that I'm an IchiRuki shipper and this movie is jam-packed with ship tease between them (especially at the end) helps even more.

I do have to say again...the fact the film underperformed and makes a sequel unlikely? Really disappointing. It was a very fun film and a sequel with, say, Aizen would've been enjoyable.

I wonder if Netflix could possibly save it. If the movie does well enough on their site, they might fund the sequel.

Seriously, Rukia's actor needs an award for her monologue before she stabs herself with Ichigo's Zanpakuto at the end of the movie alone. The raw emotion in her voice and on her face nearly had me in tears.

Yeah, that was really solid. And I'm not gonna lie, I really prefer Ichigo taking Grand Fisher down in an epic fight to the Curbstomp Battle Isshin gave it.

Kubo has revealed the cover for the second Can't fear your own world novel. It's Hikone. There is also a color page of Tokinada, Shinji and Shunsui.

According to the advertisement Shinji and Shunsui will receive a lot of focus in the next volume. I guess this really means that each volume will give focus to one of the allstars. The second volume gave it to Ginjou and the third will give it to Shunsui (and Shinji). Wonder who it will be for the fourth.

Also, Shinji and at least another person will reveal their Bankai in the next volume. Don't expect it to be Hisagi though. It's too soon for that.

[up][up] Same. It helps that the fight was pretty sick.

Another thing I really liked was the cool foreshadowing regarding Isshin's status as a former Shinigami. Byakuya talks about how a relationship between a Shinigami and a human is a disease to the former and will weaken and eventually kill them. Then it immediately cuts to a picture of Masaki and then Isshin walks into frame a second later. It's especially effective since, given what that scene's about, people who don't already know the reveal probably wouldn't pick up on it.

Then there's the end of the film where Isshin walks up behind Ichigo and doesn't attack him but instead pats him on the shoulder and gives him an inspirational speech. It comes seemingly out of nowhere but it could be taken to mean that Isshin knew about everything and remembers and he's trying to make Ichigo feel better.

Also, Rukia's final line that serves as the sequel hook got a legitimate laugh out of me.

Really, I could probably gush about the movie for, like, five pages because I just loved it.

Bleach Brave Souls will adapt the novels into their games. Tokinada and Hikone are confirmed to appear. This also opens the gates for the Sternritter since the 'no voice actors' problems obviously doesn't apply anymore and at the very least Giselle, Liltotto and Bambietta are relevant to the story itself. Perhaps the zombie Sternritter under Mayuri too. Kubo is going to design new forms of Harribel, Nel, Grimmjow and maybe Luppi. It's vague if it's about their new looks in the final arc/novels or if they get something like Ulquiorra where they transcendent. Narita will supervise the implementation.

Even though the movie bombed, they are making a sequel. Maybe Netflix actually saved it.

Speaking of Brave Souls

Water Fight Swimsuit edition

Tier , Orihime, Soi Fon and Nemu

Nel and Riruka too

Cacao Soceity

Basically Medieval fantasy versions of characters

Tier's the Witch Queen Ruler

Starrk is the absent minded Prince though in this set up its less Tier and Starrk are related its... Tier's Willing to be Queen... while Starrk is the 2nd most qualified to be King

Barrangan: BULLSHIT! I'd put Grimmjow or my horse in charge before Starrk!

Tsuk is the Rouge mage up to no good

with Kisuke and Youruichi as Rose Themed Knights but They are clearly not a couple

plus Ascended Ulq and Mastered Ichigo

The 3rd and 2nd anniversary characters respectively

Ulq looks honestly less tryhard then his SE form...

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
