Seems they can still more than one Bankai each, thought there was a limit. Or maybe As Nodt meant that the masked guy hadn't stolen a Bankai yet.

Oh yeah...and they killed Byakuya...I have to say, I'm actually kind of sad he died. Especially like this. Adding to my "will eat my ass if it happens" list, is Renji beating As Nodt.

And nah, I like Kenpachi alright. I don't like how Kubo uses him though.

What happen to kido disrupting a bankai when Byakuka beat Renji?

Who dies next guys? Hitsugaya, Kenpachi, Komamura or Soifon? Hitsugaya dying would be so rage inducing

Yeah, it did seem kind of excessive, being basically a heap of blood at the end. Well, at least I can take comfort in the tweets that will follow this.

As for Kenpachi, even though I do like him more than I really should (avoiding the novel wanking like the plague), I still hope Buckbeard soundly kicks his ass. Let the senior captains or the vizards get a win, god knows they need it.

Bets on next deaths: Soi-Fon and Kenpachi. Komamura might actually win a fight for a change, but I doubt it. Hitsugaya's death will send all of his legions of fans at Kubo's office.

I guess he ran out of character establishing flashbacks.

Also, I don't hate Kenpachi and it does make sense that he's doing better than the other captains. He's doesn't have a bankai to steal after all. But I expect it'll end the same way it does in that diamond dust movie. He charges the big bad like a dumbass and gets shanked for his troubles, maybe coming back later to offer a minor contribution to show that a little thing like getting horrifically wounded won't stop him from getting screentime.

That was because Renji's Bankai sucks.

I prefer Renji's shikai to his bankai. His shikai has a cool design.

I have the horrible feeling that not stealing Renji's bankai is going to come back in some form that lets him be a hero.

I'm all for Renji actually doing something, but given his track record so far...

It [Kido negating Bankai] wasn't because Renji's Bankai sucks, it more had to deal with the fact that his control of it sucked due to only just learning it.

As far as Bankais go, Renji's isn't so bad. It's average.
