I doubt those specific types of anti-vaxxer are doing it out of concern for their kids, more out of concern for themselves because they think that having an autistic child is some sort of faux pas.

Now that I think about it this might not count as that trope but it's still something worth putting more thought into.
As a middle grade novel the main character is a twelve year old boy hanging around with a adult homosexual man.
Like it's not imply anything bad, obviously, but I just worry certain people might turn it into a thing and I don't really want to deal with that. So now Vincent's seventeen.
