I'm looking for something, it can be any genre at all, I just have one demand. It has to feature base customization. As in, you have a base which you can alter in some way.

I already played Evil Genius, ZHP and Suikoden, which are the only ones that pop in my mind that fit the mold.

Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed.

The only thing I can think of in your case is Shinobi Do for the PS 2. Too bad that's an import though. If I recall correctly, it only saw a Japanese and European release.

Bump.

And also: A good sandbox game/ world map with map-radar combo game that ISN'T Grand Theft Auto. I like Bully so far. Anything else?

Whats a good Sonic/ Genesis/ Sega general compilation? Something devoid of the more egregious emulation flaws and more or less runs smoothly. Bonus material would also be nice.

I have a DS/GBA, Wii/GC, PS 2, and PS 3

^ Can't go wrong with Sonic Mega Collection. Can only speak for the Gamecube version, but it runs well and the emulation seems quite true.

Also picked up the Sonic Gems Collection, again for Gamecube, but haven't really sunk my teeth into it. That's the one with Sonic CD, though!

A few things:

1. It pleases me to no end to see that people here are still playing retro consoles, as I myself am constantly questing for rad old Genesis games and I play my PS 2 more than anything else and have quite a formidible collection.

2. My wife says we need more betterer Wii games. What are the most badass Wii games out there?

Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and No More Heroes. Others say Mad World, but I never found it to my liking. Other people really like Monster Hunter Tri, though i've yet to play it.

If you want good multiplayer for you and your wife, Super Mario Galaxy has a good co-op. Kirbys Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Returns does too. New Super Mario Bros is a worthy successor to the 8 and 16 bit games.

Okay, I played, beat and sold back No More Heroes, I have RE 4 for the PS 2, we own New Super Mario Bros. (Though we don't play because we may get a divorce if we keep playing co-op) and I am playing Metroid now... I may have to give Tri a go, though. Any other recommendations?

What types of games are more to your liking? Any genres or preferences on difficulty? Any qualms on downloading games?

[up]Ah, there's the rub.

See, I'm a long-time gamer from the old days. My wife... Not so much. She plays the Wii and DS, but I play PC and PS 2 and really anything I can lay hands on.

The problem is that she's definitely a casual gamer, but I feel like I lose interest in casual games too easily because they feel easy and normally don't have much depth.

If there was a game that could somehow connect our interests in a common ground, that would be great.

DL'ing games right now is probably not a great idea, since we have terrible internet coverage, so it's a little hard to use. My Wii doesn't even get the internet due to low signal strength.

Well, there you go. Both Epic Yarn and DKC returns. Kirby seems to be a little more Casual friendly.

As for rail shooters, Might I suggest House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Returns or Overkill? Ghost Squad is also good. Don't be fooled by it's length. It's very replayable.

A good action side scroller is Muramasa The Demon Blade. very fast paced, but even the hardmode suffers from the player's skill development, so you might plow through it easy. It's gorgeous, though.

One last suggestion: Baroque is an excellent fusion of Roguelikes and Action RPG. Be warned, though. It's fucking hard. It's Atlus, after all.

I'm looking for some good Xbox Live Arcade games to play. I have 1680 Microsoft points, but I'm looking for something that will keep me occupied for a while. Super Meat Boy and Dead Rising 2: Case Zero both interest me, but I'm still not sure whether to get them (Super Meat Boy may be too difficult for me and I don't intend to to buy Dead Rising 2).

Any suggestions?

No, it's not, you pansy.

In any case, I'm looking for PS 2 games with up to 4 player local multiplayer. I already have Pro Evolution Soccer, Timesplitters 2 and Twisted Metal Black.

Don't know about that part, but Urban Reign is a decent contender in the "3D Brawler with flashy moves" category. It sure looks cool!

A fighting game similar to Fatal Fury/Tuff E Nuff? (as in, mostly built around it's single player game)

I am looking for a decent JRPG for the Ps P excluding Disgaea and Star Ocean because I already have those series. Roguelikes are a plus.

A fighting game similar to Fatal Fury/Tuff E Nuff

Red Earth (aka:Warzard), Monster Maulers and Metamoqester are all fighting games centered around boss battles.

My turn: I am looking for some ultra-simplistic action platformers like Altered Beast/Last Battle/Eight Man on the Neo Geo ect.

@ Steve: I've heard good things about Z.H.P. It's also a Nippon Ichi game, so that's a plus

@ Glowsquid: I'm not sure if such games exist on the Neo Geo. But if you like Last Battle, Irem's Kung Fu Master and the like, then I'm sure you'll love the first two entries in the Splatterhouse series.

Ah, I'll try Red Earth.

Can anyone recommend me an Xbox 360/Nintendo DS game that has a high replay value? I have a bad habit of buying games that I finish in a matter of days.

^ Only own a DS, so I'll only answer for that.

Depends on if you like fighting, and puzzle games. If yes, try out Jump Ultimate Stars, Bust A Move DS, and Puyo Puyo 7.
