Oh yes, I also am somewhat amused by the fact that there is no Harem Ending in the VN, despite several people explicitly claiming they'd be OK with it...

I bought the VN this week and just stopped around the branching into Nerine's route. I should complete that soon. I'm starting with Nerine, then going on to Sia, Primula if she's available by then, and then my personal "otaku heroes" Asa and finally Kaede.

Personally, the game has a really interesting world (what would happen if our world met other worlds, with magical beings?) but puts it as the backing for a schoolgirl romance game that I found really limp. It doesn't really help that Rin met Sia and Nerine before the start of the game, thus ensuing his betrothal...

Primula can only be taken once you've gotten the Nerine end.

Well then, after I'm done with Nerine, Primula's next.

I've just finished Nerine's route, going for Primula when I feel like it.

Thoughts:

Okay, so we already know the whole Lycoris enchilada, but I was surprised at how a demure Demon princess like Nerine could be so... aggressive. It was like Kaede all over again. And dear Haruhi, the second H-scene is gonna have some guys inappropriately touching themselves at that, if I know better... Simply involving Nerine's Gag Boobs. That is all.

And yeah, I think it would've been funnier if there was a Tenchi Solution ending, with Sia being the main wife, and everyone else marrying Rin because "in the world of Shinkai, polygamy is permitted! ^___^"

No, I'd be surprised if a healthy guy wouldn't be doing that. But really though, if I had to rate which H-scenes would be effective at "that", I'd have to go with Nerine's second H-scene.

They seem to do a kind of pattern with the H-scenes btw. First is pretty "vanilla", the second they... Something fetishy, with. (Kaede's half asleep, Sia in her gym uniform, etc.)

Yeah, and the second scene always involves that thing you guys have and the girl's mouth. I figured it out halfway through Asa's route.

That's pretty standard for eroge: at least one of the two scenes will feature that act.

Now I'm wondering how my playthrough of Kanon will go... Need the voices first though.

Aargh. I still can't get that to work. It's really frustrating. I'd rather have no voices than to just have one, but the patch already came with that and I can't really undo it.

BUMP: Finished Primula's route. It is, by far, my most favorite route in the game. Though the plot idea is the same (Primula having to return to the realm of Demons to be analyzed and stuff), the execution was very different. Despite the lolicon tone, I loved it for it's very emotional feel, it was way more emotional than Kaede's route, having quite a few TearJerkers.

And so, I've completed the entire game, and unlocked an expressions viewer extra.

I might have to play this. Once, I've you know, finished Clannad, and Kanon, which will only happen when I can get the bloody voices to work. Grrrrr.

Is it really that much worse than FSN and Da Capo? Only because they average out to about two scenes per route.

Well I wouldn't know, but it's always two long H-scenes per route and a lot of "accidental" moments, If You Know What I Mean.
