That was admittedly my first Metroidvania. But I can only imagine the issues with implementing the characters.
It was a game before its time.
Anyway, the potential Simon storyline could act as a reverse of the typical plot of the hero becoming stronger over the course of a story. Instead, Simon starts out in his prime and beats Dracula fairly easily in the beginning. But as he goes on his quest to bring Dracula back, the curse slowly but steadily takes its toll on him. He also suffers emotionally since none of the townspeople are sympathetic — and they're not really wrong to blame him for the zombies either since it's his curse that is summoning them. So by the time Simon manages to revive Dracula for their rematch, he's already physically and mentally broken down.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAnd then proceeds to establish why he's a prime example of a Belmont. Heck maybe have some episodes establish the Belmont Clan's traditions. Like show how Simon grew up and what he thinks about his chosen lifestyle, how he first dealt with vampires and other creatures of the night. Probably through flashbacks like Batman Begins or Man of Steel. I always wanted to see the Belmont clan as a family tradition focused on. Like we already saw Trevor as an adult, and the Belmont vault is fascinating world building. Not to mention Dracula's court shitting themselves over the mere mention of a Belmont going after them. Even Carmilla. I wanna see how the Belmonts establish themselves when Dracula isn't rampaging that they can invoke the dreaded on vampires.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Well we could also do the prequel lament of innocence.
Seeing "I'll kill you AND the night!!" In full animated glory would be priceless.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."From a narrative perspective, it'd probably make sense to go straight to Rondo (Richter) and then conclude with Symphony of the Night (Alucard).
Castlevania III, Rondo, and Symphony are the three most connected games in the series.

Disgusted, but not surprisedx6 I really should at some point get Circle of the Moon on the Wii U. The only Metroidvanias in this series I’ve played are Symphony and Aria. I’m more familiar with the Classic Castlevanias (1-Bloodlines).
I’ve not seen the Netflix show but I’d like to see Simon in it. He’s the Belmont I am most familiar with.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! The only issue I see with the Netflix series adapting Symphony is that Season Two already did the whole "Alucard has to kill his father" thing. That robs Symphony of a lot of its emotional impact.
Circle is pretty decent. Took me a while to get into it because I needed to adjust to the controls.
The only viable Belmonts for adaptation next is either Simon or Richter I feel.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Circle was a pain on the original GBA, so yeah, a devkit that didn't convey how dim the screen would be was not good for it. Looks great once it's properly lit up, though; it's one of the few GBA games I remember that isn't overly vibrant.
I really feel like the difficulty was overstated?

Avatar SourceI need to go back to Circle. I bought it on cart last year and it was pretty cool from what I played. ADHD is a bitch.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?it was a reasonable challenge for the most part. The final dracula boss i remember being a bit BS, i had to use the card glitch to beat him.
I cleared it so many times he became a bit of a joke. It's aaaaall about that R+Up jump timing.
... if the cartridge worked I'd get some idea of the playtime, but even if it does and has the saves on it somehow, I don't have a charger for this SP (I have no idea how), so I can't check the damn thing.
Avatar SourceHonestly, an interesting way to do it would be to skip Rondo entirely.
Alucard wakes up after a long sleep, finds everything gone to shit, and Richter Belmont as Dark Lord. And he goes to Castlevania to stop RICHTER. Only to find out, yes, brainwashing and so on as well as do his Marie Belmont romance.
One thing I do note, though, is that they could easily milk Castlevania for years if not decades.
Make a Simon's Quest movie rather than season.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Richter's story in Rondo is a pretty conventional one, after all. Hero takes on the dark lord to save his girlfriend. Simple as that.
Sure, he can fail and said girlfriend becomes a boss fight, but that's not canon.
If I was plotting out the season, I'd actually do what the original Symphony game did and have the first episode depict Richter's battle with Dracula.

Disgusted, but not surprisedObviously, Castlevania benefits from some rewrites too. Like, say, throw Cornel in the Symphony of the Night series like Isaac and Hector.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. The series did get rid of Grant after all.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWhen it comes to Classic Castlevania the The Belmont Trinity is Trevor, Simon and Richter
If We're gonna change Belmonts Simon being next would be the obvious choice
Cornell would be a good choice for adaptional early appearance... I mean he is a werewolf who knows how long they live.
Simon's era is notably lacking support characters

I love Simon but there's not much narrative to his story.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Rondo does have more material for Adaptation Expansion than any of Simon's games do. A Rondo season can be done by expanding on the characterizations of the four maidens, Maria's family and their relationship to the Belmonts, Shaft, Annette and Richter's relationship, and how the public views on the Belmonts have changed.

Season 4 of Castlevania is up on Netflix and you need to watch it.

I recently got ahold of Castlevania Chronicles on PS1. I had never heard of it before but it's apparently a rare disc.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?It is on the PS 3 online store.
It’s basically a remake of the first game.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Ending was ehh imo.
Mileena Madness
What makes me sad is that the game that got me into Castlevania will never get any acknowledgement. Poor, poor Circle of the Moon and its need for lighting that the original GBA models didn't have.
