I'm pretty sure it started out making fun of the idea of people being outraged over silly things when there are more important things going on in the world, and at the media for drumming up controversy and not letting old news drop (Seriously, it was a human child's life versus an animal's life, there was no choice).
But then people forgot about the irony part and just decided that talking about Harambe is inherently funny. To be fair, this Kickstarter at least gets the original idea of the meme, pretending to be super upset at Harambe's death. It's just... really old by now.
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics.

...am I the only person (besides the backers, of course) who thinks this isn't THAT bad of an idea? (Engadget slammed this as well). A device that combines a wake up light with a sleep cycle sensor is freaking awesome to me. My main concern is if the lights on the side of the pillow are enough to wake you up (that and the fire potential). If the finished product was half the price and proven to be effective and safe, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Dahir Insaat, you've done it again. Animation, now. Really branching out.
I kind of have mixed feelings about them riffing D. On one hand, the game sure hasn't aged well. But on the other? I kind of respect the game's creator for the crazy and ballsy stuff he pulled, that no one else in the games industry would have the balls to do. He was definitely an auteur.
But then again, they're not criticizing the man himself, just one of his games.
