This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

We have an entire forum dedicated to handling images on the wiki and one of the cardinal rules is that image changes, barring quality upgrades, have to be processed through there, period.
I recently learned that I have been edit-banned for a second time, soon after my previous edit ban was lifted. What warranted this new suspension? And what steps must I take to avoid yet another?

Hello all. Just wondering when my ban could be lifted it's been a while now. Although I'm in no hurry to edit articles, the lift of the ban would be nice. I have read the articles as advised.
Beg pardon, but I'm not sure what you mean. In what way was I edit warring?
If it has anything to do with the issue of page images (which was the reason for my previous suspension), I agreed to consult the Image Pickin' thread in the future, so, as I understood it, the issue had been resolved.
As I write this, I recall that I was blocked from the Trope Launch Pad, so I suspect it has to do with my attempts to correct what I perceived to be repeated formatting and sentence structuring errors on one proposed trope; if this is the case, I sincerely apologize, and shall instead post my suggested corrections in the comment thread from now on.

Once again, I apologize. Prior to this discussion, I did not realize that this constituted an edit war; my intention had been to ensure that said character was referred to by their historical counterpart's given name.
In light of this discovery, I shall refrain from trying to change it again. (If there's anything else that I can do to atone, please tell me.)

When I first made those edits, my intention had been to inform others of the proper identity of the character. Most recently, after I saw that the edits I had made had been undone, I simply made a trope entry (specifically, "Everyone Calls Him Barkeep") to make that information known, without changing the name entries again.
Now that I know that this constitutes an edit war, I shall personally make sure to keep myself in check. (If it would help, I will abstain from editing the page in question.)

~JBriskin: The time for you to learn what an edit war is was when you were suspended for it the first time and promised never to do it again, not the second. The fact that you clearly failed to learn this the first time gives us no reason to believe you've actually learned the lesson this time.
