This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hi. Well I got banned. I suppose it's because of edit war I caused on Avengers: Endgame main. Basically I kept changing the main quote to "Part of the journey is the end", which btw I think is a much better quote than a huge block of text that was there before. Quotes are meant to be simple, describe the most basic of said creation in simple words, give the reader an idea to what kind of creation he is going to experience. But I agree, I made that edit myself without discussing it with anyone, and when it was changed back to the huge block of text I just edited it back over and over again. I fucked up, I'm sorry. If you unban me and give me one more chance I promise it wont happen again.
Hey I'm new to tv tropes. I mostly use WM Gs to share my ideas of stuff I like. I think I was suspended for not indexing right or something. Sometimes I misspell words or use improper punctuation. This is a really cool site that's tightly run so I understand keeping order. Can you please lift my suspension. I promise I'll remember to carefully check over the edits I make.

I was randomly told I couldn't edit even though I don't recall doing anything wrong... Was this an honest mistake? Did I trip up some sort of auto-ban? Did I break a rule and just not notice? I did get blocked after returning from a vacation, so this may have been an anti-hacking measure gone awry.

~satisek: Your suspension is indeed for the Edit War over that page quote. When there's disagreement about an example, it should always be hashed out on the page's Discussion page or in the pertinent thread in whichever forum the work shows up in if one is there. If you add something or make a change, and then replace it when it's removed, that constitutes an Edit War.
Additionally, there is a dedicated thread for discussing potential additions and changes to page quotes.

You will need to run any future edits through the Get help with English thread to shore up the problems; when the thread deems the issues sufficiently taken care of, your suspension will be released.
Dear Moderators
I am told that my ability to edit has been locked due to a conflict of edit on the Laid Back Camp page.
I was aware that if I wiped out the previous editors edits a second time, it would start an edit war, which was not my intention; hence without wiping his/her previous edit out, I re-entered the “heartwarming” descriptor back into the entry
While also providing an explanation to my opinion/stance of why I edited in the “reason” column, which somehow doubled due to a lag at the time.
Nonetheless, I appeared to have caused offense all the same, and for that I apologize.
In future, I will message the party with conflicting opinions privately before re-editing once more instead of putting them on the spot, and refrain from being obstinate in opinion.
Once more, starting an edit war was never my intention so I will presently go and apologize (in private message) to the offended party, and be careful to use correct grammar in the future.
If you can re-in state my ability to edit, I would be most grateful.

I don't entirely understand why I am banned
I apoligize for the edit war I caused on King of the monsters page. I have mild autism (I promise this is no lie) and it causes me to for some reason always defend villains and make it look like they are not that bad. Scarecrow,Joker,Ghidorah the list goes on. I did not know at the time that the Conplete Monster discussion did not come until two weeks after the movie is real eased and I will make sure next time to bring it up on the discussion if I disagree with something instead of starting a war. So I know there is no excuse and want to apoligize for what I did may I please be given a second chance?
Hey I'm trying to be cool here but I'm getting pretty pissy right now. All I did was misspelled something on the Steven Universe Movie's WMG page and I don't understand why that's such a big deal. For a site that preaches about being cool you guys sure are strict. I'm relatively new here and this is really grinding my gears. Can somebody just unsuspend me?!

Those entries are valid for YMMV pages and there is already an entry for the X-Men films here. Your edits were originally suspected to be vandalism when they were first reported.

~Totally-not-obsessed-fan: Incorrect. I looked at your edits on that page and in your first 10 edits, almost all of them have at least one grammar problem of some kind, including misspellings, run-on sentences, and improper verb tenses. Your edits on the other pages all have similar issues.

So... I ended up suspended? What happened this time? I'm looking over my last few edits, and I'm not seeing anything really bad like that time I tried to edit that Castlevania page and accidentally erased all instances of the word "bishop".
Ehhhh... Maybe getting a Tv tropes profile was too ambitious of me. This place is too tough on people such as I (as in people who suck at word structure). I'll still visit as a casual viewer, just not a troper. C'est la vie and goodbye.
