Yeah, but F/SN, at least in its earliest incarnation, still let you get frisky with the girls, right? If you catch my phrasing?
Yes, the PC version of that and I think Hollow Ataraxia has the porn, any version of FSN with Realta Nua as a subtitle is the tweaked version that removed erotic stuff to comply with platforms and also threw in the Last Episode ending with Saber.

Wouldn't Tsukihime be the actual breakthrough hit? I mean, it's what put them on the radar.
Tsukihime is their Demon's Souls. Fate/Stay Night is their Dark Souls.
Perfect analogy. The thing that got people to notice them and the thing that got those same people to stick around.
Ah, I remember knowing that existed. What went wrong there, anyway? Unflattering artstyle? Too many cooks in the kitchen?
So what's their Bloodborne? Mahoyo?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. And what would be their Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice?
There's no good comparison one can make with anything else using these analogies. Except for the Tsukihime Remake being the Demon's Souls Remake.

And if we're counting the various anime adaptations as Type-Moon's (which I think we should), then it gets even more confusing. Fate/Zero might be Bloodborne, I guess? Or maybe Sekiro? I dunno, it quickly gets out of hand.
I've never seen the Tsukihime anime myself but I hear it was a rather sloppy adaptation of Arcued's route. Supposedly according to the people who watched it first it was an okay, if kind of bland anime. To the people who actually read Tsukihime it was a shifty adaptation comparable to the Eragon and Artemis Fowl movies.
I think another reason people hated on the Anime was that allegedly the studio that made it got Type Moon in a contract that really bent the latter over a barrel. Supposedly the studio would get a rather sizable chunk of any and all Tsukihime related profits, not just stuff related to the anime. That's the rumor for why its been so long since there'd been any new Tsukihime stuff, it wouldn't be (as) profitable to Type Moon as more Fate stuff. I'll freely admit that's just what I've heard, it could be complete BS that someone made up years ago and people just kept parroting it without realizing it was BS.

Regardless of your opinion of the last American election, we can all agree on one thing- The Chinese Communist Party can choke on scrotes!I've heard that said about Geneon and that being the reason for Melty Blood not getting any updates. But I've also heard from others more active in the community that it's a bunch of crap.
Apparently French Bread were eagerly waiting to make more continuations for Melty Blood and Nasu was willing to comply on the surface of it, but he would blow them off so often that they got tired of waiting and decided to continue on without him by making the Under Night In-Birth series in the meanwhile. That a bunch of UNIB characters are a Captain Ersatz Melty Blood ones (and I don't even mean Eltnum) lends credence to the latter.

i really hope that the tsukihime remake ultimately leads to a remaster or sequel or something for melty blood
i'm super into fighting games and having melty blood on center stage again would be insane so i can lab combos in a game that isnt virtually completely dead
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThe main reason I think the Geneon theory has some validity is TM switched from Geneon to Aniplex/Kadokawa/other distributors circa 2011, especially Aniplex as the main company they used with all their IPs, I think either they wanted to bail from Geneon or Aniplex offered them a better deal.

You heard wrong. Or from someone who was bending over backwards to try and be generous. It's wasn't a bad adaptation of Arc's route, it was trying to do all the routes in a single twelve episode run.
Now with a bit of effort you could probably do a single adaptation that incorporated both of the Near Side routes (Arc and Ciel) since they follow a lot of the same plot beats (and Arc keeps trying to insert herself into Ciel's route anyway) but that would still be a lot to try and cram into a single cour. Trying to add the far side routes which a wildly divergent set of plot points was impossible.
And that's before they decided to make their own weird decisions which actually ate up more time on top of everything else such as keeping Satsuki alive. (I don't know Sacchin. Is getting to survive but getting demoted to extra and your own story complete ignored sad or not?)
As a side note, maybe we should start spoilering Tsukihime spoilers?
the remake will very well be people's first chance at playing the VN, and even if it's well over a decade old it might be polite to spoil character deaths plot points and whatnot

Though I do expect the remake to do new story things
The detail about the Tsukihime anime involving a poorly-worded contract was information given to us by Studio French Bread in an interview around... 2018, I believe?
From what I've heard regarding the anime itself, supposedly it doesn't even capture some of the characters' personalities well? On top of its other issues like trying g to allude to stuff from certain routes without giving enough context to understand what was shown.
The main scepticism with that explanation is the source that circulated it has the explanation come from some guy who runs a fansite and was not directly confirmed by French Bread.
I do think the truth is probably in the middle between that and what Alley described.
I have a request. Apparently, Prillya's site uploaded various official illustrations. Can someone upload them somewhere else? They don't load for me, I just see blanks. I'm perfectly fine if anything too lewd is excluded, I'm not here for that Oh, and imgur doesn't load pictures for me either, so sites like mega or mediafire would be ideal.
Have you tried using a different browser to see them?
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!I tried Firefox and Chrome, neither works.
Huh works in Safari
Guess try edge?
Eh? Chrome works for me. I'm on a computer though.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrThey're seasonal collages more than anything.
I think so
