Would probably be fair to increase the Gil rewards from the Main Quest though to compensate newbies.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobFresh off the free Trial... 300k gil to their name... then comes stormblood, oh broke now thanks to teleporting to the far east.
Even Shadowbringers areas are 1/3rd the cost to port to if porting from Eorzea.

Can't you take a boat from Limsa? That should be cheaper than teleport.
i. hear. a. sound.I can see it now...
Bored WHMs in cities spamming Holy II, causing everyone in render distance to go deaf and blind.
Holy II isn’t as blinding tbh. And RDM already does it with lb
I didn't get to see what it looked like. All the spells looked very identical to one another.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It was the one with the big flower over the WHM’s head
If song times are being buffed then this doesn't change anything outside of ARR content (where you don't have Wanderer's Minuet). The cooldowns and lengths of the three songs are spaced in such a way that you should always have one available. It's overall still a buff just because you're getting more out of each song.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Songs getting a longer cooldown kinda makes sense if they're also getting a longer duration, since more than ever it's in your best interest to cycle through all three
I like that Bard gets more and more intertwined with their singing with each expansion
Heart of StoneAh I see Holy II now. It's a bit more...flashy without it being flashy if that makes sense.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Do we have any hype Reaper videos?

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Youtuber (and former history teacher) Jesse Cox provides a history lesson for beginners on the lore of Final Fantasy XIV. In it he covers the basics of what Hydaelyn is, some basics of geography and their real-life analogues (On Ishgard: "It's basically Game of Thrones") or things like the difference between Eorzea and Aldenard. Goes into actual history (the Astral and Umbral eras, the Allagan Empire, War of the Magi, and the rise of Garlemald).
Some neat things I learned that I hadn't known/realized before is how each Calamity is element-based and why Bahamut and Allag are connected as they are, as well as why some of the enemies in the Coils are called Mycedean (probably spelled that wrong but likely you'll know what I mean).

There's a few things in there that are wrong, probably to preserve spoilers for new players, such as the original Bahamut being killed by Allag, resulting in the Primal Bahamut being summoned by his sister/wife Tiamat and the remaining Meracydian dragons, or the Magi in the war predicting the flood, and all of them taking their own steps to preserve themselves from it, with varying degrees of success. As well as a whole lot that got glossed over in the "unimportant" Astral Eras, like how the Fourth was the Eorzean equivalent of the Dark Ages because they shunned all knowledge after Allag's "divine punishment", so we have no idea what happened during that time.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Jesse says right up top he's deliberately vague or leaves things out at some points for exactly that reason.
For the Umbral eras, my guess is details there were cut either for time or because they weren't strictly relevant in a video meant to act as a primer for beginners. As noted at the end, Allag, the War of the Magi, and Garlemald are 3 out of 4 causes of just about anything you encounter, so it makes sense to cover them in depth

My sub renewed today and I'm on the 6 month plan. I started last year around this time, so happy first-ish anniversary to me playing this wonderful game.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Yay! And on that note, I'm glad they made getting the veteran rewards a lot easier.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I've been playing since August 2016.
Time flies.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Oh wow, a Meteor survivor.
Must be amazing to see how the game changed and survived.
I've known Elidibus for 4 years before he died in 5.3, it's still weird to think of him as dead.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Actually I'm not a Meteor Survivor (a friend of mine is!). I joined in the early access of ARR, but I never played the game before that. Even then, it has been one heck of a ride seeing how the game changed over the years. I still remember WHM being able to cross slot Thunder!
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I still remember as a Black Mage being told to level Bard for shirk.
Good times.

Considering that the game showers you with gil and free gear, there's really no reason to have so little money when starting out unless you're trying to level multiple classes at once.
