So someone failed the "don't look at Shiva Ryne changing clothes" mechanic, I tried to use Rescue on the stunned player and it didn't work. The more you know.

Today, I finished crafting every single level 50 crafting and gathering sets. Absolutely worth the time spent on this.

Yeah, you can't Rescue anyone who's been immobilized by abilities like that. I've found out, though, that you can Rescue people who have gone over the edge, as long as they don't die before the Rescue kicks in.

You also can't Rescue your chocobo

But you can make your Chocobo your dance partner.

Correction: You WERE able to use Rescue on your bird in Stormblood, but they disabled it in Shadowbringers.

Alright I decided to get back to FFXIV, but I hit a few snags.

• I first noticed when getting some cosmetics from Mogstation that I had gotten an i2501 error. My bank's website claims the prior transactions were "pending". I can still log into Mogstation, but cannot do anything there.
• However I also noticed that I was barred from certain features on Lodestone as well, namely the commenting feature and later when I tried booting up the game to see if I can (my fist attempt since resubbing), the game wouden't load, former showing the message "You are unable to use this feature because your service account's contract period has expired, or your selected character cannot log into the game." the latter had a simialr message

I fear that I might had been suspended for buying stuff too quickly (using the Shopping cart to buy about 9 items, all in the same cart) as I think there wasn't a (recent) email about people trying to break in my account (which would imply an IP conflict), but part of the reason I make this post to see if that is standard procedure for that scenario and also if SE usually emails users telling them their accounts are actually suspended or not.

I also want to make sure if Mogstation's cart count as a single transaction or not as it was attempting to buy 9 items that led to my first encounter with the i2501 error, and I also fear that attempting further transactions while the prior two were "pending" among othersmight had made things worse.

Also I reiterate that I haven't booted the game until after seeing the i205 error.

EDIT: relatedly would a token that was suspended by support/SE count towards switching to the opposite authenticator?

You might have had the bad luck of trying to buy stuff during that big DDOS attack they had a few days ago.

I tried to make an account today and got a i2501 from trying to enter the security question on account creation. Which doesn't make a lot of sense. Google tells me i2501 is related to payment information.

I had the exact same problem back then, the problem is either with the card or you need to wait 24 hours before trying again.

I’m not an expert though.

I haven't even gotten to the part where I enter my card information. This was just to make my username and verify it on my e-mail.

Yeah I had the same problem when I was trying to cash out, though I think I did register the card prior.

I'm downloading the xpacs now so there seems to be some progress. But the Lodestone problem is still happening and I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to get the items I'm trying to get to avoid escalation.

I got it. I had to do it all on my phone's data instead of on my actual ethernet connection. Because reasons. Good thing I have three e-mail accounts.

Hello fellow Black Mage, okay let me explain, there are two variants, Thaumaturge and Black mage.

On the Job page on the creation screen, pick Thaumaturge, at level 30 it will upgrade to Black Mage.

We shorten Black Mage to BLM in chat.

You get the Black Mage class gear at lvl 50.

Speaking as another BLM, let me warn you that you will often have to choose between finishing your cast or not taking damage at times.

EDIT: Well I can play the game now and the Lodstone thing was also fixed, so it might not be related to the i2501

Welcome to the wonderful world of black magery. Where the booms are big, the mana is infinite, and your Ley Lines are always in the wrong place because the boss seems to think it's a targeting ring.

Just remember that most of your damage comes from casting Fire spells while in Fire mode, and to read the descriptions of your new spells and skills, and you're automatically better than like 80%^* Or maybe slightly less, but that certainly feels like what I've experienced of the other BLM's out there.

Funny story, when I first started, I had the explicit goal of becoming a black mage, and was really confused at the "class select" screen. I ended up choosing Conjurer at first because I thought, "conjuring" fire/ice/lightning sounded like a reasonable guess at what a black mage does, right? And when I realized my mistake, I also hadn't yet learned that I'd be able to switch classes freely a bit later on, so I ended up deleting that character and starting over after the opening cutscene.

I'd like to reiterate that you really need to read the descriptions of your spells. One common pitfall for example is that while Fire III does deal more damage than Fire I, it also takes so much longer to cast that it's a dps loss to cast it normally. However, it also has the special effect of adding 3 stacks of Astral Fire, meaning you can use it to instantly switch from one stance to the other without Transpose.

Your basic goal is to stay in Astral Fire as long as possible and in Umbral Ice as little as possible.

It's very basic till you hit 60. That's when you get Fire and ice iv. Along with enochian.

For now enjoy ARR to the best of your ability, it gets a lot better later on.

My suggestion is try to fit Thunder into your Ice phase so you restart Fire with full MP.
