Rather funny Calvin and Hobbes was mentioned considering today's strip.

i. hear. a. sound.I suspect it's a buildup to a Sunday strip.

Well, seems like you're right about that.
A day late, but: If I ever found a parody religion, this will be its prayer.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulHere's what I'm wondering—how is Lil' E just now realizing he's a Devil worshipper? Is there some sort of ongoing amnesia plotline I've forgotten about?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. This is all sorts of adorable.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.@Wack'd: Yes, there is.
He took a dip in the river Lethe.
Huh. I don't remember that, for some reason...
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I missed it too. I looked back, and saw that the incident takes place right here.

Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.In today's comic, I can't decide if Slick just is oblivious to what Nique is talking about, which goes along with the recent "patriarchy" arc, or if Nique is just going mad and hallucinating words. I know the latter probably isn't intended, but that's my impression of the comic.
'Nique is now part of The Sisterhood (think The Matrix with misogyny), and she can now see how the hidden male-dominated directives are pushing Slick to see her as a ditzy airheaded Damsel in Distress.

As someone who's technically sex-positive, I'm not sure I like where this is going . . .
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulI just thought of why this arc has been feeling weird to me. The parts with Nique are more serious than usual. I'm used to the "lighter and softer" evolution the comic has taken. Squig's in there for levity, yeah, but a lot of this is heavier than usual.
Probably because this isn't a funny setup. It's just hideously antiquated.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. What, the feminism aspect or The Matrix parody aspect?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Both.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. How Sinfest?
How can you be so engaging in one plotline, and so stupid and unfunny with another? The arc involving crimnee is so entertaining and engaging, while the "Sisterhood" arc is just kind of stupid. Sure the matrix idea with feminism was funny, but it got old pretty quickly.
Mind you, I'm not complaining about feminism, I'm complaining about bad comics. The worst part is how much I enjoy the other half of the strip.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like this current arc. The wild devil girl and the Fuchsia arcs were more entertaining. How many more times is the strip going to be "something is going to happen, trike girl wooshes by, character is stunned/stupefied"
I wish the author would make news posts, so we can get more insight to the thinking behind the comics.

I'm not really crazy about this new Matrix arc either.

I have a bad feeling about this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0The devil's silhouette is very ominous.
It'll be almost too predictable if Criminy gets bomfed, and it winds up bringing him even closer to Fuschia.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulOr perhaps Fyoosh saves Crim from a Bomf-ing and Mr. Devil either A) Re-Bomfs her, which may or may not work, or B) He makes a snide remark and let's them stay together with a possible cut-away shot back to the photo of Devil, baby Lil E, and unknown momma.
If it has changed it's become more serious.
