Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Welp! Better lvl Rem then.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. So besides Zenos, Emet-Selch and Kuja, how many other Big Bads of FF go through some form of character development?

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Emet-Selch and EW's Hermes, Vayne in XII, Caius in XIII-2/LR all come to mind.
Yeah forgot to add in Emet-Selch.
How would one describe Caius's arc because I lost interest after XIII-2.

I remember being distinctly annoyed at his motivation since Yuel needed to die for time to keep moving or something, and that she reincarnates anyway, so he can still live with her forever.

Wait seriously?
Oh you're right. Yeah that's messed up.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Tactics had some pretty interesting antagonists, and there's so many of them too; it's almost SMT-esque in how pretty much every notable character turns out to be totally awful.
In particular, Delita, the completely normal guy who successfully got every faction of a giant war involving magic stones and ancient demons to wipe each other out and whose only real mistake was thinking his girlfriend would be grateful instead of horrified at the lengths he went to put her on the throne...

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Delita should have put more of that genius into understanding women.
Maybe then, there'd be less stabbing.

One Strip! One Strip!Ovelia saw the way he used and manipulated everyone to get the throne and (correctly?) assumed he was doing the same with her. It seems the last straw was seeing how he manipulated Ramza, his oldest and closest friend, to his apparent demise. If Delita was willing to do that...
Ovelia's last words make it clear that she knew she was signing her own death warrant with that stabbing. She just wanted to make her contempt for Delita known that badly.
"Now you'll kill me just like you killed Ramza!"

Disgusted, but not surprisedTactics almost comes across as a deconstruction of the romanticized image of the Middle Ages in a sense - even characters from archetypes that are normally sympathetic in most Medieval fantasy, like the Boisterous Bruiser mercenary and the dapper nobleman whose life you save, turn out to be just as rotten as anyone else, and the only way out ends up being dropping the hammer on all of them, Godfather-style.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."It does make the ones who do live up to those ideals stand out even more though. Ramza, Agrias, Orlandeau, etc.
There's some irony that Ramza, the one character who best fits the Knight in Shining Armor type in Tactics, remains a "Squire" throughout the game and never learns the special Sword techniques that other magic Knights learn.

Although it might be worse if he genuinely cared about her. I think there's been at least a bit of a debate on whether he was just using her as well, or if he really loved her...up until the stabbing that is.
Then it became clear they lived in two different worlds....the living and the dea....
<''Is bricked">
One Strip! One Strip!Even if he survived that stabbing, Delita's words at the end make it clear that he's resigning himself to being Lonely at the Top.
"Did you get your end in all of this, Ramza? I...I got this."
Delita at that point is pondering which of them really got a better outcome. Delita's king, but he's alienated everyone around him to the point that his own wife just tried to kill him and he killed her in response. Ramza will go down in history as a heretic and is possibly already dead at that point, but Delita still cannot help but wonder if Ramza was the luckier one.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThe records show that Delita survived the stabbing and went on to rule as king. By all accounts he at least led Ivalice to a better era.
But according to Matsuno, Ramza did actually survive and went on to another country with his sister and comrades to have more adventures.
So I'd say Ramza had the better deal by sticking to his morals.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.-One great disaster later-
Tactics has one of the best Horror moments up there with Sephiroth's massacre in the Shinra building
No. But a few Yeuls liked him in that way, he did not he just watched each one suffering and dying thanks to a gift from a god. Different Minfilias probably felt the same as Ranjit... before he went the same kind of crazy.
It’s noted that the Church heavily doctored the official records of the war due to the fact that, y’know, they were exposed as unwittingly worshiping bloodthirsty demons. So for all we know Delita did die there. Though if they wanted to turn a dead person into the war’s biggest hero to save their own hides, that begs the question of why they didn’t choose their own leader, the High Confessor, so that could be evidence the account of Delita at least is accurate.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."O.K, it has somehow crossed my mind, judging by the new fanart I keep seeing and , that something happened with the Italian Senate and it involved the characters of Final Fantasy VII.
Maybe something with Sepiroth? Maybe something (somewhat risqué, I think) with Tifa?
What's been going on here?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Someone video bombed the Italian senate with porn of Tifa while the senate was in the middle of a Zoom conference.

De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.So I was replaying FF XV when I stumbled upon the Terra wars crossover quest. I liked the interactions between Sarah and Noctis, even if he overreacted a bit when he rescued her from the waterfall, and the Hiso Aliens were charming. The eroder thing was a pretty fun boss fight.
So what's her deal? "Looks it up" Oh her game shut down. That's sad. But her weapon is pretty OP at this stage.
But no seriously, what was her deal anyway?

That’s what Rem is for actually; her Undying Wish ability (I think that’s what it’s called) is a pre-emptive Raise spell - cast it on someone and they resurrect when they die, including death by summon.
Cast it, pop your summon on the relevant character, repeat.
Rem breaks the game that way, Trey breaks it through sheer power, and King breaks it by being able to hit any killsight as long he isn’t reloading - get good at dodge rolling and reading telegraphs and you can use him to kill level 99 enemies really early on.
