Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Looks like Reno learned Noctis' warp strike going by that cutscene

Tifa vs. Aerith has a durability that's pretty insane even by ship war standards. Even THE archetypical ship war, Hermione vs. Ginny, has largely faded now, but not this one.
That's cause those 2 ships got resolved.
While Cloud's what relationship with Aerith never got resolved cause she died.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Pretty Sure Tifa vs Aerith (so we're for sure going with Aerith and not Aeris) predates Harry Potter....though I admit I'm not sure on that.
One Strip! One Strip!End of FF7 Still can't believe that Cloud and Tifa boned while the entire rest of the party watched them from the airship like huge perverts.

Interestingly, both VII and the the first Harry Potter book first launched in 1997, with VII predating Harry Potter by six months.
The thing about ship wars between the two is the Harry Potter series was more consistent, had more releases, and had its biggest popularity during the fanfiction boom of the early 2000s.
VII was more of a slow burn more consistent of other franchises with different worlds between installments (the closest I can think of is the Legend of Zelda series).

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Ugh, I was really hoping those stupid timing-based minigames would be gone in the remake. Oh well...
Everything else looks awesome. That shot of Cloud on top of the train was definitely part of the footage I saw at the Distant Worlds show.
bring all the minigames back, even the dolphin one!
New theme music also a boxEven the Moogle Mating Game?
Especially the moogle dating sim.
Make it a 30 hour long dating sim.

You reach the end of VII-R, the final shot of ruined and overgrown Midgar zooms out... and is revealed to be on a screen. The moogle from the minigame puts the controller down.
"That was fun. What's next, kupo?"
And then it's a moogle dating sim.

Against my will, I'm getting used to them saying 'Aerith'. But I'm never going to like it.

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaWell duh
It’s definitely gonna be breathtaking
That trailer, man. I'm hyped.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Only thing I'll note is Aerith's face at one point gave me serious uncanny vally vibes
New theme music also a boxI swear to God that's Mark Hamill voicing Don Corneo.
The bit about wicked Wutai sounds like they're going to expand on that subplot or change what happened with the country in the past - maybe it's still independent of Shinra this time around and the war hasn't happened yet and they're fishing for an excuse for it?
Or maybe Shinra is just using dirty politics to keep himself cemented as the top-dog of Midgar while scapegoating a marginalized people.
The Tifa vs Aerith shipping war is the LTD of the game. THE SHIPPING WAR NEVER CHANGES.

"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."Also possible. Awfully strange for Wutai Village to be allowed to continue on as a tourist resort if that's case, though, unless only Shinra brass get to stay there or something.

Yeah. I feel like they deliberately put that scene of them both clinging to his arm in.
They know what they are unleashing.
One Strip! One Strip!
