Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition launches January 23, 2020
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.I started up FF 8 and now I'm wondering if I messed up when I chose not to give Selphie the tour of Balamb. But like, I was thinking Squall is super not the type to give a tour when he's got his teacher waiting to give him his qualification exam.
I also lost like six times straight at Triple Triad. Goddamn that door guard.
I think one thing I always wanted the series to focus on is Sephiroth's relationship with Gast, Aerith's father. In the Compilation, it does seem like they don't focus on how the guy was important to Sephiroth in his eyes and how ironically in the end he kills his daughter. In another life, Sephiroth and Aerith could have been surrogate brother and sister.
I also think that Jenova is a Fallen Goddess of some sort, who was corrupted into what she was right now.
Yeah, for Squall, you can choose different options depending on how you feel it should go: Squall being more of a loner, or having him be more receptive to people from the get go.
I kind of see these options being important on how it affects your perception on if his development is believable.
Pretty much, VIII lets you pick options that can completely torpedo the believability of Squall's development with the other especially if you're the type that likes picking the most asshole answer you can get
Namely You can send Rinoa to the missle base... and lose 50% of the bonding time the characters have during the whole Balamb adrift saga which then makes thier sudden closeness really really soap opera like.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! That's the problem with optional scenes. Ideally if there's important content that gives characterization, it's best as a dev to make sure the player won't miss it. Otherwise you're missing out on important details that effect your first and most crucial experience. But if if all the important stuff is in the main story, you need to justify the optional scenes, usually with comedy to keep it memorable while not strictly needed to experience.
"No will to break."Reminder that a new VII-R trailer is coming tomorrow at around 10am EST. Also the TGS Stage demo is happening on Friday

GOH! JII! RAH!Really weird not hearing Quinton Flynn's Reno. Oh well.
God I can already feel the absolute sledgehammer to the feels that Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge's deaths are going to be.

GOH! JII! RAH!It's weird that Reno is now the one at the church. Not Tseng?
A little in the front I suppose, but this dudes hair is way longer in back than Loz's.
Tseng showing up at the church was in CC, if I'm not mistaken.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyYou actually fight Reno in the church this time. That scene's not gonna feel remotely the same because of that.
The voice direction still sucks so I wonder if they're gonna blame the English cast again for it.

Rewatching the trailer and was that Mark Hamill as Don Cornero? If so, nice.

GOH! JII! RAH!Looks like they might make a few changes to the Corneo scenario, since we see Tifa also competing.
This game'll be something.
One Strip! One Strip!Hell yeah squats confirmed.
I never really wanted this remake, but somehow each trailer manages to impress me.
Also, it looks like other can see those ghosts now considering they're attacking the Seventh Heaven Bar.
One Strip! One Strip!I feel... hope regarding this remake. I don't want to. It's a dangerous feeling.
I'm not sure what to make of certain changes, like President Shinra talking about Wutai or the new soldier guy. Or, heck, Sephiroth being shown clearly in the Midgar section of the game multiple times.
I'm worried they might go and overcomplicate or overinflate things.
This game is shaping up to be everything I'd ever want a remake to be. It's got a new coat of paint but still has the sillier elements of the original. The freaking squats minigame (with Tifa even), getting turned into a frog mid-combat, and it looks like the Corneo section is going to be the same. Additional scenes and characterization of AVALANCHE's members who we barely got to know in the original. More badassery from the Turks (always implied to be dangerous but you never really got to see that until Advent Children).
I hope this game is everything it's set out to be. 7 might be overrated depending on what social circle you run with, but it's... I mean, not every Final Fantasy gets a remake of this caliber. I sincerely hope they try to do this with 8 and 9.
I hope they do Fort Condor. That was always my favorite part of the original game.
Jesus christ Cloud might actually cross-dress.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Sector 7.
I meant that we get to actually see them be badass this time around. They're implicitly dangerous and above the rank and file Shinra military, but that doesn't mean much on Playstation 1's hardware.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Okay now I see where the shipping-war came from.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Don't know exactly what scene it was since the footage played during the music, but I think it was when Avalanche is going through the security checkpoint on the train. Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie were all there.
I'm not sure, but I think I saw Zack for a split-second, too. I'm not the only one either, I heard lots of people in the audience around me asking if that was him. It may have just been Crisis Core footage, though.
