Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Still not used to Sephiroth not being George Newbern
Wait so the Japanese cast is the same?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yes. It's still Sakurai as Cloud.
Lelouch is fabulous. Imma Xehanort on You Tube, Twitter, and Gamefaqs.Digging Tifa's design.
The pleated skirt is...logical.
I mean, she's doing high kicks. She needs the maneuverability.
One Strip! One Strip!I didn't see the gameplay presentation, but I'm annoyed that everyone got recast.
Still the game looks really good, but I'm still seeing signs that made people disappointed like they were with XV.
The combat looks a lot... Meatier than XV. I don't know if that's the right word, but there's more impact and less floatiness. Would actually have to get my hands on it, but it looks akin to Ninja Gaiden gameplay wise. Which is a good thing.
Bleye knows Sabers. The fact you can control all characters from the start makes it already better than XV.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You can combo different ATB skills into each other, use a dodge roll, can probably use multiple characters to juggle, and the fact that everything strong has a universal cooldown that still leaves room for combos means it's already much more well designed than XV's clunky "hold circle to win" structure.
I kind of hope there's a parry or better defensive options than just reducing the damage with a block or whatever that defensive buff Barret used was, but I'm sure people at E3 who go hands on with it will tear the finer points apart and find out very soon.
I also hope boss fights aren't all overly scripted. As cool as it was to see Guard Scorpion do its thing it felt like 35% of that sequence was cutscene.

I kinda hate that they're replacing everyone in FF7R. I loved the original voice cast and thought that they were perfectly fine. Of course, the new people are also perfectly fine but still.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! Its also just weird that they're replacing everybody; usually SE goes out of their way to keep the original V As.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI definitely gotta get back into FF 7. I got pretty far on my PSP, but I lost it years ago.
For some reason the only new voice that bothers me is Tifa's. And I'm not even sure I remember her original one, the new voice just doesn't feel like it fits to me.
The only VA I know is Gideon Emery. Turns out the leading man does die.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Wait, we don't even get Rachel Leigh Cook back? The crazy drug PSA lady?
Were any of the old V As notified about this at least?
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowIIRC someone asked Steve Burton and he said SE didn't even bother contacting him
Heart of StoneReally sucks about the recasting. No one sounds though, if anything they're just as good as the original actors, but goddamnit Square you were really good about consistency before this.
That aside, the game actually looks... fun. Combat looks leagues above XV, and wow, look at this, multiple playable characters. Hopefully this seeming shuffle of story content makes it far more interesting to experience this time around. Oh, and whichever episode has the snow area, just remove that entirely, please.
Also, maybe get rid of all of the minigames too. No squats, no slapfight, no Fort Condor, etc.
Disgusted, but not surprisedGood to know that Final Fantasy VIII is getting a remaster. I know the game is considered the Black Sheep of the franchise, but it's nice to know even that game's finally starting to get some love after so many years.
>none of the old V As were notified
Of fucking course.
Ah well, at least Tifa's design looks good.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI would prefer her to have a little more muscle. I always imagine her as lean but toned, but in the trailer she is just... noodle-y.
Don't really care that none of the old cast is coming back. I know people have fond memories of them, but most of them just didn't really fit well with OG FFVII and instead were chosen for Advent Children.
Hell, I honestly love Al the new voices, and Aerith's voice actor, what little I've heard of her, is easily superior to her Advent Children VA.

Watch SymphogearI have seen Tifa designed so many ways by fan artists during the years I knew whatever they came up with was never going to satisfy everyone. I would have preferred a bit more mass just because well, she’s busting up robots with her bare hands and legs. That’s gonna add tone.
I don't like Tifa's thigh socks, but aside from that she looks fine.
FFVII Cast has been completely replaced for the Dub. Reminds me of how Patrick Seitz didn't even know he wasn't Scorpion anymore until the MK 11 trailer. Or when he didn't know BBCF wasn't getting dubbed. Feel bad for Steve Burton.
