That seems like an ancient stub and I question its tropeworthiness at all. Maybe as a Definition-Only Page|s that describes the Theorum...though with how few references it has, it probably isn't even needed for that.
Should I bring it to the TRS, then?
Here there be cats.Original YKTTW. Definitely seems like it was intended as an out-of-universe phenomenon that was being proposed by the original sponsor with no other citations; the sponsor even raised the question as to whether it should have examples at all or whether that would amount to Troper Tales. I don't think something like that would qualify for def-only when it's not a pre-existing term and didn't catch on on the wiki, so I wouldn't say no to a straight cut.
I wouldn't be opposed to a cut, since the actual term isn't used anywhere. Although TRS may actually find usage (or find a similar term that's actually used). The little footnote on Sturgeon's Law is probably all that's needed, just expand the paragraph a little more so it can exist on its own.
Seems off-mission for this wiki, and it doesn't even appear to be a pre-existing term. I support a cut.
Count me in the "just cut it" crowd.
Cut.
(Annoyed grunt)Maybe it can be reworked into something like "character has an obscure/niche interest that fails to appeal to the majority". In any case, I'll put it in the TRS Queue.
Meanwhile, should I delete the other two examples I mentioned? The ones that are, well, out of universe. Or do I just let them be until the TRS reaches a decision?

Trope's Laconic: The narrower your search is, the harder it is to find something good.
The description rambles on how this tenet of Sturgeon's Law often applies to Fan Works and porn, which is true but very much an Audience Reaction.
The only good example I found while cross-wicking is one where the character is In-Universe rewarded very poorly for his story because it doesn't interest many people. The other two examples are essentially remarks like this: "This troper is surprised that such an obscure pair/work has fanfics" —which is where my abovementioned concern comes from.
Should we restrict this trope to In-Universe Examples Only? Or do I just add all three examples and call it a day?
