What I’m seeing in the date announcement is something closer to the first film.
Well they aren’t kids anymore… and it’s called Spy Kids…

I think if you were going to do a fifth film, at least have them be related to Carmen and Juni.
But the fourth film had them and they weren't kids then either.

Seems more like a reboot of the franchise than related to any of the old movies, unless Carmen and Juni are going to cameo and they're just keeping it really tightly under wraps.

Hmm, "Armageddon" was the name of the bad guy's plan in Spy Kids 4... the Hell do I remember that?
Looks promising. The fourth one was a disaster, so can only go up from here. First one's a fun movie, second one's underrated and the third one is a guilty pleasure.
Started the animated show at one point, but didn't stay with it though. Maybe someday.
Would love if they did one with Carmen and Juni helping the main kids through and did it right this time. Doesn't feel right if we don't see them at all. Hope Alexa and Daryl at least make cameos here.

I watched the second Spy Kids movie before the first back when I had most things on VCD. The movies were my introduction into the kid spy genre.

It's a tricky thing to be able to capture the same spirit/feel of the first two—and to a lesser extent, the third as well. The fourth one went totally off the rails though. Be hard to hit a low like that again I would hope certainly.
