yep! that's what's called No On-Page Examples — you can add examples to work pages, but not on the page itself. contrast with Definition-Only Pages, which are the ones that don't allow examples on their own page or on work pages
Godwin's Law is actually listed under neither, so ~BoltDMC has a point.
On-page examples should be prohibited from Godwin's Law as it attracts complaining.

Kirby is awesome. It should be listed under NOPE (lol) then.
If Godwin's Law isn't actually listed on No On-Page Examples, it shouldn't be added without discussion. There are a number of older tropes that lack on-page examples for no apparent reason other than that they were created at a time when standards for pages were much, much laxer. And for some of these tropes, all they really need is for off-page examples to be crosswicked onto the page.
I don't know whether Godwin's Law would fall under "just needs crosswicking" or "should be No On-Page Examples" (or some other category), but that's what discussion is for.
If you suspect that it attracts complaining, that may be cause for a wick check to see if that assumption holds true. If it does, then that's the sort of thing that could be taken to Trope Repair Shop.
I agree that normal examples would probably just attract complaining. I feel In-Universe examples of character invoking and talking about Godwin's Law would be fine to have on the page.
Thanks everyone.
So I’ve added the trope example to the works page (it’s in-universe) but didn’t add it to the tropes page. If that’s not okay, please let me know.

Godwin's Law should be made IUEO then.
Kirby is awesome.
Is it okay to add a trope to a works page when the trope page has no added examples? There's an example of Godwin's Law in a work I'm adding entries to, but the trope page itself does not have any work examples on it.
Many thanks!
