ITT: We Are Monsters on a Spooky Quest

"relax scalie buddy, there's nothing wrong with taking it easy and rest for a bit, especially if the place is as soft as thiiisss" Yami said as he streched and yawned as he accomodated himself better for a nap on his chosen pillow.

Suddenly, the lights begin to dim. Then a quiet, ghostly voice can be heard.

"If you wish to stay awake, find the light switch... before it's too late."

Melvin yawns. "Light switch? What's he talking about?"

"I think we have to find something in this room," says Eleanor. "But I don't... want to... get up."

Me either... (Jacoby yawns.) I feel like I'm back at home again...except this feels even better than my moss bed...no easy feat...

(Elisa tries to heft her much-bigger friend back up to his feet, despite how sleepy she feels herself.) Sorry, Jackie, but we know what we gotta find, so we gotta find it! We can sleep later!

(Jacoby sits upright...then promptly falls forward and faceplants back onto the pillowy floor.)

C'mon, ya big lug! (Elisa says, trying to heft him up again, but she's feeling even sleepier.) Okay, I think we just gotta get up and find this light switch as soon as we possibly can while we're all still awake.

Bird-Thing stands uneasily, sleeping while standing up being something that comes fairly naturally to bird-like entities. As comfortable as it seems, it has the sense that whatever is causing this tiredness is something unusual. Thus, it decides to make a noise that it knows has woken it up before.

"EAAAAAAAAA"

A figure sits in his room on the train. He is an ordinary man, smoking from his pipe and reading an odd novel about a man traveling through time. There is something notable I have unfortunately left out of his description. This man is nothing but a floating smoking jacket over a disembodied suit and tie. He chuckles to himself while reading.

Melvin and Eleanor are jolted awake by Bird-Thing's noise.

"Gah! Why'd you have to interrupt me when I was feeling so peaceful?" says Melvin.

"Wait, Melvin," says Eleanor. "I think that thing just saved us from whatever spell is causing us to fall asleep. And look, if we had fallen asleep, we wouldn't have noticed that floating suit over there." Eleanor points to the invisible man.

"Hello?"

(Jacoby about jumps out of his skin.) GAAAAH!!

Phew, thanks. (Elisa says, groggily getting back up to her feet.)

(Jacoby then spots the strange invisible man nearby and briefly yelps.) Eep-! Who's that?

Heya, pal, you already on the train before us? (Elisa asks, trying to keep her head up.)

Claude shifts his head.

“Who, me?” he asked, his gloved hand pointing toward his missing head. He cackled and picked up his pipe, striking a match on the table and lighting the pipe.

“I’m just doing my reading, don’t mind me…” he muttered, going back to his book.
