Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Quick question: how much damage do weight-based moves (like Grass Knot, which Arven’s Toedscool knows when battling Orthworm) deal against Titan Pokémon?

I think they just go by Pokédex weight still. At least Klawf, Dondozo, and Great Tusk are all quite heavy and weak to Grass Knot specifically.

I'm not sure if Klawf takes max, but the latter two already take max damage from it anyway.

Edit: Klawf does not take max damage - only 80 BP.

When I fought Klawf with my Flamigo, Low Kick one shot it.

Chien-Pao and Zamazenta-Crowned quickbanned from OU. Bax is no longer out of a job.

Now if Weavile had at least Throat Chop, AKA the Egg Move it got in Sun and Moon, before it became widespread, and then lost as an egg move for TR reasons... then fully lost this time around.

Not even going to mention Knock Off, but it is a move that works on this line.

Chesnaught and the elephants' raids finally comes back.

And based on the dates, yeah, late June for the announcement for the next Unrivaled raid. The raid itself probably would be in early July. Whether it's Delphox or Rillaboom remains to be seen.

And just like that, Urshifu-Rapid and Volcarona are gone from SV OU

To add on to that, Zamazenta-Hero will likely be suspect tested in the near future.

Yup, megas were better. Hell, Z-moves were better, in that you were sacrificing your item slot to proc the single use gimmick. Dynamax and Tera are just a mess.

....you understand like half the Megas were banned too right?

And the base Pokemon wasn't banned. And no, I don't think there were over 24 megas banned from OU in either gen VI or VII.

The point stands; the Mechanic was still busted. I just don't get the logic of saying a Mechanic is broken it only interacts with certain Pokemon in certain ways.

Ursaluna was not banned, so Five Turns in Trick Room will continue.

And the reason Volc was banned wasn't even just because of Tera; last generation introduced an item that alleviated its biggest weakness, and it was already great despise said weakness.

And here's the Zama suspect test.

It's worth noting that WolfeyVGC, a competitive player who plays in the format officially supported by Gamefreak, considers Tera and Dynamax much better than Megas and Z-moves. Perhaps the problem is the dissociation between the format preferred by Gamefreak for competitive play (and thus the format more likely to be balanced), and the format preferred by Smogon for competitive play.

Calyrex-Shadow would have been banned even without Tera. Its main check, Yveltal, got Dexited.

Tera is tbh pretty balanced for a gimmick. Their is only a certain number of types each mon could use realistically and you can play wiy h it depending on if your doing defense or offensive.

Dynamax makes more sense for doubles as The stat buffs are amazing for having it both mons bit awful for single. Three turns could make or break in singles half a team but you can wind th r clock down in doubles.

Tera is probably fine for like 90% of Pokémon, but the remaining 10% really benefit from it. Like Calyrex-Shadow got thrown into AG because Tera removed the one weakness it had.

Tera only really puts mons that are already cracked over the top. Giving already powerful mons the ability to cover their weaknesses is more on the Pokemon than the mechanic.

I love my steel Tera Hydreigon.

So with my moth banished to the shadow realm for now, I'm trying a trick room team and found out that my opponent doesn't know much about Dozo.

Guess you could say you caught them unawares.
