I am curious how Raven Beak would have done against T. Rex Mother Brain since she was still kicking after a mega draining from a Super Metroid while he was distinctly worse off, well plus being in a colony drop
They were both ridiculously durable and Samus wasn’t able to defeat them without some Metroid stuff

Forever liveblogging the AvengersRaven Beak has that line at the end "You have followed my instructions faithfully so far. Continue to do so, it's that simple.", but looking through the dozen or so briefings throughout the game, "ADAM" never once told Samus to do anything she wasn't obviously going to do anyway. And actually that's great because it means it's possible to interpret Samus as catching on to the deception early.
I've read that Raven Beak wasn't Adam the whole time but it's unclear when exactly he took over.
So does anyone else want a future Metroid 6 to expand on this Metroid form? Like maybe show Samus learning to control it? I could see it having similar mechanics to Hypermode where you temporarily activate it to augment your abilities but if you stay too long bad stuff happens.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had been around when Mother Brain was created. And knowing Raven Beak, he may have secretly programmed failsafes to ensure that Mother Brain would obey him.
And only him, not the other Chozo.

Disgusted, but not surprisedEh I rather not revisit the Hypermode mechanic if it's not going to do anything new with it. Especially if it will be like in Prime 3 where enemies get their own hyper mode so you have to waste energy getting on their level.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Yeah enemy Hypermodes are a no go for me but I like the idea of a risk vs reward system of temporarily upgrading your powers by taking a risk of dying.
Edit: So did anyone else see the theory that Samus was actually an X-Parasite and the real one was imprisoned by Raven Beak? I remember that floating around before the game came out and I actually subscribed to it. I was a bit surprised the story was mostly straightforward.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Metroid Suit becomes the "new" Gravity Suit: the final suit upgrade going forward, with the overwhelming power of her Ultimate Metroid form being much more consciously restrained.
Everyone had that theory, and I never bought into it. It just didn't make sense to me, both from a story and a meta perspective. Storywise, the SA-X is gone and there's no way for one to reemerge since Samus's biology would just absorb any X that would attempt a takeover or even try copying her DNA. Meta-wise, they weren't going to make the first 100% new mainline entry in over a decade be a bait-and-switch story. (And personally, I'd be annoyed if I spent 80% of the game playing a fake Samus.)

The plot in Dread isn't like super amazing or anything, but I am glad it doesn't have any bizarre Shocking Swerve like that.
Well, regarding this thread's parenting conundrums, I'll only say this:
Samus can have as many daddies as she wants.
Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.Clearly, she wanted one fewer.
Samus's DNA at this point is just a salad of shit.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Eh, it's just four different types: human, two flavors of space chicken, and two kinds of space jellyfish.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHer next physical check-up will be something to see. And maybe make medical history with.
Wake me up at your own risk.Corrupt elements of the Federation will probably try to use her next checkup results to clone their own army of Samuses.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI also just realized that, not including Kraid, there's no space pirates at all in Dread.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. The Space Pirates' power has been declining rapidly ever since Samus blew up Zebes and killed Mother Brain. No surprise that by the time of Dread they're a non-entity.
Disgusted, but not surprisedPretty much. It gets a bit lost in Samus' endless, purple prose internal monologues in Other M, but she does outright say that Space Pirates no longer exist after the events of Super.
Which makes me question the time scale of everything. Like Samus could just age slowly but she doesn't physically change much from game to game. So is all this shit happening over the course of a decade? Two? I'd imagine it would take years for the Pirates to just fade away and be a dim memory for the community considering they represented a major threat to society like five times.
True. Even if Samus broke them and their hold on the galaxy pretty hard, it'd still take a while for them to totally fade from consciousness.
One Strip! One Strip!I've decided that the first three mainline games and the Prime series take place in her 20s and Other M onwards is in her 30s. That's the only way I can make coherent sense out of everything if we have to think about the timeline for more than five seconds.
EDIT: It's also possible that Samus is just trying to be poetic with the whole "dim memory" thing. She's quite fond of doing that in Other M.

That's possible. I got the sense Prime 1 follows shortly after Zero Mission and the rest of the games through Super could take place over a fairly short time. Like three or four years at most. Then Other M, Fusion, and Dread happen a few years later and take place over a year or two.
Well no, Other M definitely happens very close after Super given the beginning has her being checked up on following her return from Zebes. I'd say Fusion and Dread are a few years after Other M though.
Hard to say really, given how rapidly X spread throughout a planet's ecosystem.
The very beginning of Other M is right after yes but that's before Samus's monologue about time passing. The main action is likely years later based on what she says and the fact the Bottle Ship researchers had time to grow all these creatures and experiment on them.
Yeah, there needs to be enough time for the goo scrapings to be developed into a cloning program

There's also the fact Mother Brain contributed to Samus's training and power suit, while Raven Beak donated his warrior genes to her.
Clearly, if Raven Beak built Samus's suit and trained her, none of the other villains would have lasted against Samus.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.
