I’m thinking more about T-minus Aqua realizing who Ruby really is.
Or Ruby realizing who Aqua is, which would probably be a greater blow to her than the other way around.
I do hope that does come up since I hate when reincarnation stories have all other characters be oblivious to truth of situation.

To be fair, most reincarnation stories that pop up these days are Reincarnate in Another World-type isekai, so the character's previous life is pretty much irrelevant beyond giving real world knowledge/experience that's useful for the new adventure.

Yeah but in those fantasy isekai(especially when writer has no clue about medieval life at all) it also makes all of character's relationship feel based on falsehood more or less since character gets credit for being genious when they really have just basic knowledge from their old life ![[lol]](https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lol2v12_4863.png "[lol]"){kind=small}

People have been talking about some variation of "Akane is going to die" for almost 30 chapters now.
I'm just going to sit back and enjoy Akane and Aqua's relationship.

I think it was established way back in volume 1 that Aqua knows that Ruby is a re-incarnation of Sarina.
Aqua doesn’t know. He explicitly mentions in his inner thoughts that he doesn’t who Ruby was pre-reincarnation. Or more specifically he doesn’t know at what age pre-reincarnation Ruby died.
Oh damn, I think you're right. I re-read chapter 3 and it just seems like Ruby reminded Aqua of Sarina based on his sister's fangirling of Ai.

Ruby activated the double starry eyes. The stars are so big that they extend past her eyeballs.
Even Aqua didn't achieve that.

For all his mental hangups, Aqua had an adult lifetime behind him. Ruby didn't even get a normal childhood. Not surprised she's more unstable under the same conditions.
