I've come to note that when viewing a page's edit history that the way how changes are displayed takes up too much space.

Just why on earth does the same text frame need to be displayed twice when the changes are highlighted in the 2nd one?

In other words the second frame is the one which lets you know what was actually changed.

Now consider that most edits are minor but are made in large paragraphs of text. That way any time somebody makes a minor change, two walls of text are shown with only the latter actually letting you know, what was really changed.

This is especially jarring when you're viewing the entire history. The page ends up being miles long.

Wouldn't it be better if just the frames with highlighted changes would display in the history?

Of course cases of just adding or deleting text don't suffer this issue. In those only one frame is displayed.

Humankind is like a train. No matter how powerful the locomotive is, it can only travel as fast as its slowest car allows it to.
