Not a huge fan of the current, but 1.1 is Talking Heads, and 1.2 suffers from the same issue as so many OoTS strips: too much dialogue placed within hard-to-crop speech bubbles.

I don't see how this picture has anything to do with the trope: the woman in this picture suggests to flat-out tell "he's dead", which is decidedly not breaking the news gently. So if anything, the image shows the opposite of the trope.
