The options of combining Peter and Miles didn't go very far in the original thread.
I definitely find current lacking.
This? Same logo and similar colors/symbols. I used a vintage comic cover for the first one to sell the "predecessor"/older character aspect. But it may either need a closer crop or a vertical arrangement to make the skin tones clear.
EDIT: Vertical arrangement, probably needs downsizing.

Does anybody know the exact years for these comics? I'd kind of like a caption like "[year of first comic]: All in full color! [year of new comic]: Now with people of color!" Or something else playing off the pun.

No consensus on a caption; locking up.
It shows the "racial minority" part of course, but not the "legacy" part. People said in the original thread (which I forgot to check until now) that it's not confusing because "people know who Spider-Man is" but he's not even immediately recognizable as Spider-Man because his costume is a different color, the spider logo isn't immediately visible due to his twisted torso, and he's not wearing the iconic mask (but if he were, it wouldn't illustrate that he's black).
Best solution would be to stack this with an image of Peter Parker from an earlier comic, with the two in similar positions. I like this option
in the original thread, but I'm open to better solutions if only because the Peter pic looks awkward. (Maybe something from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which is admittedly the only Spider-Man media with which I'm familiar?)
