A new trailer has finally been released as a well as a date of 2023 for the series.
Yeah I'm not feeling this like...AT FUCKING ALL and wasn't for the longest fucking time which is insanely disappointing for me to feel like since I loved the game and the story in it and required ZERO of the changes they made.
So Alasie's girlfriend died, just like that? Classic Bury Your Gays.
Do we have any idea what platform/streaming service/channel/whatever it's going to be playing on?
That's actually tied to one of bigger peeves in all of this in that Helena's sexual or gender preferences are never brought up in any way and if anything heavily comes off as Aromantic and/or Asexual and is heavily implied to have died in an accident of some kind likely involving a nature hike gone wrong and not suicide like in the trailer. On paper this really wouldn't be an issue if not to the absurd amount of clashing with how she's portrayed in the game as well as there not being a VA for Diana Altares. I can go into more detail, but it's a LOT to unpack, but others include a much older seeming John Dakheya...who is on The Island for some reason and not Scorched Earth. It's also...weirdly going heavily on the whole peacul settlers vs oppressive conquerors thing it feels like when that was never important except on The Island(to an extent) and even then it only pertained to Nerva.

I don't think that character is actually John Dakheya. I think he's supposed to be an original character named Thunder Comes Charging.
Pretty sure there was a character sheet and that it WAS him with that being his Native American name. I'll post it once I dig it up. All in all though, it's still MASSIVELY RADICAL shift in just about everything from the story in ways that make it completely different.
Edit: You might be right or that was an old promo thing, but I do recall them having a character list and there was a "John" listed there.

Yeah I had previously seen that list before and it was one of my MAJOR red flags since only like...five names from it are from the actual game(Helena, Mei-yin, Rockwell, Nerva, Santiago) and even THOSE don't resemble their counterparts from the game in any real ways besides the names.
The show just surprise dropped on Paramount+. Today.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
I dunno about great, but sure I'd like to read a page for it.
Edit: With that in mind, I think stuff from the game and the animated series should be kept separate as they're both VERY different works and often contradict each other.

How to make the storyline true to the game:
The main character is kidnapped while sleeping and awakens in a wooden cage with their pockets so full of poo they cannot move. Then they are assailed with slingshots by a tribe of whistling dwarves in power armor until they die from heatstroke.
