I prefer the skirmishers because at least they can react with each other. Agents do nasty damage and can be misplaced.

Me vs Skirmishers: Fuck these shields. Fuck that Hydro fatass healing everyone- STOP SHOOTING AT ME! >:V

Me vs Agents and Cicins: Haha Anemo go brrr

The problem with Fatui shields is that each of them is weak to only a single element, which turns fights against them into stupid puzzles about having all the right elements (or a dps check as you try to brute-force it before they can put up their shields). It is intensely unfun. They should at least all have two weaknesses, imo.

[up] Even then it's really just the Electrohammers and the Cryo Gunners that are nasty and have only one weakness. The others either have a few weaknesses or not as much presence to be annoying. But if I see a hammer or cryo gunner and I'm without a cryo and pyro character then I'm completely out of luck.

Honestly I hate the Fatui mages more. If you don't have a character with either good AOE or manual control (like Ganyu) then I end up missing the mage because I keep auto-targeting the stupid bugs!

I'm definitely going to go with Mages and Agents being easier to deal with, but I rock a main team that includes Sucrose and also the ability to do Overload at will, so knocking them down is simpler.

Even then it's really just the Electrohammers and the Cryo Gunners that are nasty and have only one weakness. The others either have a few weaknesses or not as much presence to be annoying.

All of them except Anemo have only one elemental weakness. Cryos' shields are weak to Pyro. Pyro's are weak to Hydro. Hydro are weak to Electro. Electros are weak to Cryo. Geo to Geo (and Claymores).

I'm in the midst of rather steadily training up a secondary team up to bring in Hydro and Cryo to my stable of readily usable characters (for reference, they're hardy enough that I can use them in Spiral Abyss relatively well, but not enough that the constant damage of the event domain didn't render them useless), but my primary playthrough focus had previously been in a primary group of Pyro, Electro, Anemo and Geo, a team which made most of the game rather standard to deal with but the Fatui specifically a nightmare at equivalent level because nearly all Fatui fights include both a Electro and Pyro member. And several of them are tanky enough even without shields that taking them down quickly is a hassle.

Still, it's fine in exploration when they're just out there and you can plan (though some call in instant reinforcements). In events and domains like this it sucks because you can't plan ahead, and there's a big "oh, you didn't already train/weapon/artifact up a character of this element? Sucks to be you!" issue. A domain which requires you to face a set of Fatui you don't necessarily know about ahead of time under a time limit is pretty mean, but the ability to do it in co-op softens the blow.

It would be really nice is they added one more weakness to each.

[up][up] They Hydro gunners are still a big freeze target even if it doesn't take as much of their shield off. So I'd consider them weak to Cryo.

And I said they either had more than one weakness OR not as much presence. The Pyro Snipers and Geo Staff dudes can't do much to you, even if you don't have hydro, geo, claymores, or Klee.

So I stand by my point that the Cryo Gunner and Electro Hammer are by far the worst to deal with and demand a pyro and cryo teammate. The rest are more flexible.

While on the subject of enemies, here's my tier list for them. It's a bit outdated because it lacks the new 1.5 enemies, but it still contains the bulk of enemies that I face regularly.

[up][up]I would just say they have the most HP and therefore it matters more. I would personally consider the water ones equally troublesome though: freezing them doesn't matter if you're trying to kill them quickly, after all.

I've just found that between having Klee and Ganyu around when I need to deal with them, they go down really fast. I suppose because that covers two of the weaknesses, Klee also beats Geo, and Hydro gets frozen and then melted.

Usually I just kill them with Ganyu before their shields go up. But it's more annoying in the Abyss or other places with inflated HP.

I just thought they were cute. [lol]

Though I'm basically on hiatus until there's a major story update. Like... none of the characters since Hu Tao have really enticed me and the core gameplay loop here is pretty intensive for a gacha game.

[up]There may be a new area (not the Chasm) being introduced in Version 1.6, depending if those leaks are reliable sources. Some island of sorts which may serve as an introduction to Inazuma.

I don't know if anybody else feels the same, but was the third energy amplifier domain a cakewalk compared to the last two?

I blame it on the Act 3 gathering quests giving out fruits that boost energy recharge and give bonuses for elemental bursts, making burst spam a highly viable strategy. Add in characters with i-frames and the only trouble is the time limit. I was hearing the burst-ready sound effect every other second at times, all while a Ruin Grader tries in vain to step on me.

The other new strategy seems to be god mode Xiao because Mi Ho Yo really wants to make plunging attacks viable when only one character can utilize them until 1.6 at least. I haven't tested it myself though.

[up]You're not the only one. With those Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge shards, those Ruin Machines were down for the count in less than a minute. Both Sucrose and Ganyu shredded through their health like nothing. The Geovishap domain was a lot more challenging than this.

Yeah, Venti and Diluc might as well have been carving butter.

That's actually quite annoying to do with cold butter. Not that it's hard with a proper knife, but most things aren't with a proper knife.

So in-game, I got a rather peculiar survey that isn't about giving feedback to Version 1.5's features. It's about giving feedback to character designs of all things, and it asks a lot of questions about what players think about certain character's aesthetics. The listed characters are Zhongli, Lisa, Bennett, Yanfei and Albedo.

That's when it clicked. Now this is only speculation, but it's possible that Mihoyo is planning to overhaul the selected character's designs in the future. Otherwise, how else would they be putting a survey like that up?

There was also a large list of characters that the survey asked me who I used recently. While I can't remember everyone on that list, Noelle and Xiangling are among the ones listed there because these two are my team mains. It's possible they may be on the table as well.

I wonder if this has something to do with the recent fallout of Honkai Impact 3rd's Playboy Bunny event? If so, then Lisa and Yanfei I understand because their designs are risque to say the least. But why Zhongli, Bennett and Albedo? None of their designs tripped any radars.

[up] The Playboy Bunny debacle had nothing to do with them being provocative, it was because the CN fanbase thought that the devs were giving the Global players preferential treatment. So, if you're wondering if this is so they can 'censor' certain characters, no, i don't think it is.

What I do think is to make certain tweaks in the character designs to make them more appealing, Albedo would certainly count on the list (due to many complaining his hair in the art is not the same as the hair in his character model) or add skins (which are implied to come relatively soon) for the most popular ones.

Some 1.6 leak claimed that costumes will be introduced with it. The survey might be related to which characters will be the first to get ones. Considering the tropical islands setting of 1.6, the costumes might be beach skins which might at least explain Lisa, Zhongli and Albedo who are attractive with Bennett being the token shota for the sickos people of formidable taste.

The survey picks five random characters for each participant; it's not targeted. I got Bennett, Xingqiu, Klee, Childe, and Keqing.

Although I regret not asking for a character with a beard in the suggestions box. Didn't even think of it until I hit submit!
