Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)

Seth Rogan isnt bad as a producer. I think he just wants to see the nerdy stuff he enjoys get made properly.

And I'm saying this as someone that hates his comedy.

I've awlays loved Seth Rogen's comedy, so I'm all in on this.

So who do you think we'll get for villains. Shredder is ensured but who will he be paired with.

Bebop and rocksteady ? Karai ? Krang ? Tokka and razar ? Hun ? Baxter stockman ?

Krang or Stockman are quite likely, but I'd very much enjoy seeing Bebop and Rocksteady again.

Stockman seems like an easy guess, since he tends to be behind the tech of the Foot Clan.

Which is a bit weird considering Stockman was a completely independent villain in the original comic.

I feel like Krang is vastly overdue for a live action version.

He did get one in out of the shadows.

You'd be forgiven for forgetting that, though; he was barely even in that movie. He shows up once at the beginning and then sits out the entire thing until the very end.

In any case, if Krang shows up, it won't be in live-action. This is gonna be animated.

Movie version, I mean, yeah.

I'm an adult, and would prefer an adult version of Ninja Turtles (especially since lighthearted kids versions have been the norm for a long time now). But I know that won't happen, so whatever.

Do we know what kind of animation this will be done in, 2D or CG?

In this article about potential animators, it mentions a title for the movie. It's called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Chapter. It could be a working title and not what the movie will actually be called, but it's still an update.

It looks like Mikros Animation , who worked on the 2017 Captain Underpants movie, the Sponge Bob Movie: Sponge On The Run, and the Paw Patrol Movie, will be working on this movie.

What are people's thoughts on Rogen saying this movie will be more character focused and less of an action movie?

I think I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve actually seen this hopefully sometime this year, though I do remain slightly optimistic of both the franchise’s future and the success of this film, both critically & commercially.

Empire has revealed a new still from the film, as a part a preview for their next magazine issue's coverage

“We wanted it to be like Stand By Me and Lady Bird. But, you know, with Ninja Turtles,” director Jeff Rowe – previously co-director on The Mitchells Vs The Machines – tells Empire. With a fresh young cast voicing the turtles themselves (that’s Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, and Brady Noon as Raphael), Rowe’s ambition was to capture their energy and make “the ultimate teenage coming-of-age film”, he explains. “They’ve got a lot of that inauthentic confidence that teenagers have: when you’re a teen, you don’t know any better, so you operate with this hyped-up sense of, ‘We can do anything!’”

Rise is a Tough Act to Follow, and I'm not terribly enthralled by Seth Rogen's style, but I'm cautiously optimistic for this based on the trailers. I hope it does well.

I wonder if the film will explore the turtles' parental relationship with Master Splinter.
