[up]I haven't seen the film, but to me the high walls and non-jungle-y attire of the residents seem like this is an isolated community, and the crash is what exposes them to the outside world.

It's admittedly vague, though.

15.2 was promising, but the crops in 23 really aren't working for me. Losing the other side of the hole in the wall just makes it look like a bunch of people standing around in some jungle ruins.

It's a shame about the Lorax images being spoilers. They honestly seem like the best of the bunch.

Yeah, good point... and keeping both sides of the hole makes it a tad too small.

^ Fits more for The Outside World and even that is questionable as I don't get enough of a sense of secludedness. These could be ancient ruins for all I know.

[up]I sense a lot of overlap between the two tropes. But given that, the picture would also work better there than the current, if we decide not to use it here.

The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.

Huh, actually I think 15.1 might be better for that page than its current.

This is only a working concept, not a finished product.

How about literally Xing out cities and states on a "school" map?

The clock's past due and the only thing that's had any real consensus is maintaining the page's current BUPKIS status. Locking up.
