The Cathedral

Dust and her newfound acquaintances decided to explore Valhalla. As they reached the stairs, they saw agroup of kobolds rushing by, carrying a strange box covered in runes. Unlike the other kobolds, these ones looked older and were a lot less skittish. They had their hoods deep in their face. The one in the front carried a large candle, as they walked downwards towards the catacombs.

It didn't take long for the fighters to follow them.

The Catacombs

It was dark and dusty. No natural light, not even a torch. The only illumination came from the candle. The stairs winded down into the darkness, until they reached a large gate. It took a moment, before Dust and Diane realized, that it was made out of bones. And not just human ones. The carved arch on top resembled a ribcage of a being much larger than any human.

The kobold with the candle approached the door and bowed. "Open for the worthy. May our souls not rise your hunger.", it said. The gate rumbled and slowly opened.

As they stepped inside, the walls were covered by skulls. Hundreds of thousands of them. Row and row, the morbid decoartion spread. Some looked distinctly inhuman and were in various stages of decay, yet no smell emanated and aside from them, evertyhing looked meticulously cleaned, except for the dust.

They passed several crypts and rooms, even a full-sized graveyard with a dead tree in the middle. Yet, the kobolds did not linger, so they had little chance to stay and explore, if they didn't want to be left in the dark.

The hallway went on, the floor sloping down and becoming a bit slippery. Eventually, they reached a large cavern, where hundreds of stone-slabs stood. Most of them were empty. Others had corpses laid upon them. A few, nothing more than a few pieces of flesh and one even just a pile of ashes.

The kobolds made their way through this display of death and finally reached the top-right corner. Which was....separated by green hospital-sheets. The head-kobold sighed and pulled the sheets aside.

Kayne laid on a stoneslab. The one arm that was left was connected to a drip and a thin man was leaning over her. He was clad in a white labcoat and wore doctors gloves. A breathing mask covered his face, though one made out of metal and evidently replacing his lower jaw. His skin was pallid and his eyes bloodshot. His hair was white and cut down to a stubble and he seemed positively engrossed, as he was rummaging around Kayne's open ribcage.

"Hmm...left lung neatly cut through. Heart needs to be replaced, too.", he mumbled and his metal mask let out a bit of steam in a huff. "Wounds are calcified. Someone really didn't want it to be easy for me, huh..."

The head-kobold cleared his throat. The doctor looked up, briefly confused. Then he groaned, a sound surprisingly artificial. "Oh, not you. I can fix her! Go away!"

"Her soul may be saved in time, with this artifact.", said the kobold and the others shuffled forward, holding up the box.

"Soul? Artifact? Not this magic bullshit again."

The kobolds looked insulted. "May he watch his language. For these hallowed halls do not suffer his insolence and may he-"

"Yeah, yeah...listen, just cut this whole mystic-blabla-crap and let me do my job okay. I'm nearly finished.", interrupted the doctor impatiently.

The head-kobold took a deep breath. "It was the express wish of The Warden, that you may use this.", he said. And then added, under his breath. "Otherwise, we would not have bothered aiding foolish fool-fool..."

"I heard that!" The doctor looked cross. "And tell the Warden, I don't need it! I am close to fixing this one. Just need a few gallons of blood, maybe a limb or two. I'm sure, I can find some here."

"You will not plunder the gravesites!"

"Recycling! Plunder is such an ugly word. Besides, they don't need it.", argued the doctor. The kobolds hissed and pushed the box in his hands.

"Fine, fine! Just stop whining. Damn furries...." He shot them an ugly glare, before turning to the box. "Ehmm...how did this work again? Seriously, some kind of written instructions would be nice."

Then he snapped his fingers. "Got it!" Holding the box, he mumbled a phrase. the box began to glow and vibrate with energy. Soon, it nearly fell out of his hands and began to smoke. Then he rammed it full force into Kayne's ribcage!

The box broke on impact. Magic flodded the girls corpse and then she exploded! Fleshy chunks flew everywhere and blood splashed into Diane's face. The doctor slowly wiped a bit of brainmatter off his cheek.

"Oookay...right...wrong spell."

Catacombs

“If and when you've finished defiling the remains of a young girl,” Dust began quietly, a noticeable snideness entering her tone, “I'd like you to remember I'm watching, and I'm so far not impressed. If this is all the afterlife has to offer—a back alley butcher who can barely hold his knife straight—then I'm glad I'm not made flesh. And clean that up.”

Either the Sands are displeased, or I... she mused, noting the splattered lifeblood of Kayne soaking into her very being. She promptly shifted herself so as to invert the stained sand from being visible. And yet I walk on the decayed remains of stone, plants and flesh... and that is my domain...

“...Desecration aside, you shouldn't pass by variations of genius,” she eventually added, nodding towards the kobolds. “Just because they don't fit into your ideas of such genius doesn't mean they deserve to be reproached. Or do you perhaps need a hand after all?”

She at least acknowledged the trip there to be atmospheric. Though equally in bad taste. She found no amusement or charm in such morbid decorations. Far too close to home. Mocking memory never sat well with her.

Even if they were to be revitalised.

The Catacombs

The Doctor clicked his mechanical tongue, steam rolling out of his mask. "Hey now, they insisted on bringing magic into the mix!", he said, pointing at the kobolds, who were busy cleaning off the chunks of meat off their robes. "I told them numerous times, I am not good with that stuff and they never are clear in their instructions. Just a load of vague nonsense!"

The kobolds hissed and he waved them off angrily. "Now, clearly your method failed. What do you want me to do?"

"The worthy may recognize their failure of perception.", mumbled the head-kobold. The Doctor just threw his hands into the air and looked at Dust with a "Told you"-look.

Then he turned to sad remains of Kayne and scratched his head. Then he facepalmed. "Ooohh...yeah, I see it now.", he explaimed and ripped the smoking box out of the molten ribcage. "I held it upside down..."

Before Dust or the Kobolds could punch him, he quickly recited the spell and turned the box around. This time, it did not explode. Instead the flesh, blood and other matter was pulled back towards the stone-slab and the box itself opened up, releasing golden vapors.

They quickly covered Kayne's body, before melting into her flesh. Holes filled, blood flowed back into wounds and missing limbs grew back. Before long, her heart began to beat slightly. Then, she took her first breath.

"Aaand alive. Perfect!", said the Doctor and threw the box over his shoulders. The kobolds rushed to catch it, before it hit the ground. "Would have gone just as quick, if I had been allowed to use my methods."

"Once the Healer comes back, we will tell her...", snarled the head-kobold. The Doctor ignored him.

Kayne was on the slab. Then she was not on the slab.

And then the good doctor felt a heavy dope slap on the back of his head, followed by hearing an irritated “That’s for blowing me up, dumbass!”

A blue and white streak blitzed past the onlookers (“Hi guys!”) and back up to the main area of Valhalla. Kayne slowed down then, and scratched her head. What was she to do now?

She ended up wandering to the Quarters, humming a cheerful tune as she passed by Kara’s room. She wasn’t in her magical girl garb, due to not being in her transformed state, but her voice and the tune was recognizable enough: “Always look on the bright side of life...”

The Cathedral

The Moderator looked down at her slab and her long finger danced on it, activating some runes. Then she stood up. "A new fight has been issued. Sassan will fight against Kyo.", she declared.

The Mystic smiled and cracked his blue knuckles, as he got ready for his bout. Some wondered who this Kyo was, but the Moderator cared little for explanation.

"Dust and Diane have also been challenged. Their opponent is waiting for them in Forgotten Beach. Both fighters are excepted to join him there soon.", he continued and tapped a few runes.

The Catacombs

Both Dust and Diane felt a slight pressure in their backs. Seconds later, they heard the Moderators announcement, as if she was standing right next to them. When she was finished the pressure faded.

In the background, the Doctor and Kobolds were still squabbling and arguing. "This soul needs proper care. An angry spirit does not respond well to soulless machinations."

"Oh stuff it! I'm almost finished with that lump of muscle. I don't need your advice for it, thank you very much!", barked the Doctor and pulled back another green sheet, revealing the Red Raider.

he was awake and strapped to his stone-slab by metal-bands. His mouth was wrapped in bandages, preventing him from speaking. Multiple blood-packs were connected to his arms and when he saw the Doctor, he began to scream and trash.

"Hm...sedative stopped working already? Are you immune to it? Oh well, guess we have to do the procedure without it." The doctor grinned under his metal mask and pulled out a sharp knife. "Now, stop struggling, this will only hurt...a lot."

“Oh would you look at the time. Looks like we'll have to get going,” sighed Dust with absolutely no hint of disappointment in her voice, glancing at Diane and Goliath and nodding meaningfully towards them. “First fight for both of us. I'm at least glad it's not against each other.”

Well, as far as I know. Who knows what else they've got up their sleeve.

“If it's any consolation, you have my condolences,” Dust commented with a tone of genuine pity towards the strapped down Red Raider, even despite his earlier attitude. “I wish the luck of anyone under surgery by that guy.”

She turned to leave, and began to make her way out before she addressed Diane and Goliath again. She looked more eager to simply exit the room itself rather than go to the battle.

“If you want to explore a while go ahead. I can wait. Though I'm not sure about the other guy. If not, we'll do this again later? Up to you.”

Diane was getting impatient. This was the great Valhalla for Pete’s sake! A legendary realm where the mightiest warriors go to battle. And she was walking through a some sort of graveyard. This was disappointing.

Still though... She glanced towards her new companion, Dust her name was. In a place like this allies are invaluable... Going in full bloodlust was one thing, but even she had to admit that if she were to survive in this place she had to have friends. It didn’t take too much pride to say that many of the people here were probably as good at killing things as her. She cracked a small grin. Besides... I’m beginning to like this... thing? It looks like a woman but I’m not exactly sure... I suppose it’s not kind to assume but-

Her thoughts were cut off by the moderator’s announcement. Diane grinned so hard she nearly sprained her facial muscles. “Yes!!! That’s what I’m talking about!” She cackled. It wasn’t a very scary cackle, especially in this form, but why would she care?

She turned towards Dust, and giggled a bit. “I’m way ahead of you!” She looked towards to kobold with the candle a bit, before growing impatient, tapping Goliath’s shoulder, and heading back to The Cathedral Hall. She turned back to Dust. “This, my friend, is what I’ve been waiting for...”

The Cathedral

"Oh? So soon, now?"

Back inside the great hall where everyone had been viewing Kara and Kayne's fight, a diminutive young boy in the middle of the crowd suddenly perks his ears up at the Moderator's announcement. He casts an eye over the blue-skinned man in Eastern garb preparing himself, and bizarrely, lets slip a small, private smile.

"Not that I'm complaining."

Kyo leans onto the tips of his sneakers to stretch melodramatically and watches as two of the other fighters make their way back into the Cathedral. 'Dust' and 'Diane', presumably; the former he'd seen commentating on the previous bouts. "Yo! May the best fighter win," he greets, with a nonchalant wink. What kind of abilities would they show off, the boy begins to wonder? And how would they act on their strategies?

He realises blankly that he probably won't get to find out because of his own fight, anyway, popping the bubblegum he'd been chewing on in dismay. But standing around theorizing what the duo and this 'Sassan' had to bring to the table was one thing: going up against them in person was entirely another.

Kyo supposes he shouldn't dawdle around any longer and heads off to wait nearby the battlegrounds, should the Mystic be inclined to join him.

Well, that’d be jus’ a waste. Why would ya want to deprive the world of such anomaly as yourself?

The Cathedral

And so, the fighters entered their arenas. Kyo and Sassan walking through a door made out of sandstone and ornately decorated. Meanwhile, Diane and Dust passed under a gate made out of molten blades, axes and spears.

Forgotten Temple

Kyo found himself in a giant temple. It was made out of yellow sandstone and had no walls. Instead, it was open to all sides, the giant dome resting on massive pillars. Geometric patterns were carved into every avaliable surface and small carpets were draped onto the floor, seemingly to provide an area for kneeling. In the middle of the temple, surrounded by the carpets, stood a bowl with a smoldering flame burning within it, despite no fuel being visible.

Sassan stood in front of the flame and was bowing down to it. His turban was touching the dusty floor, as he was silently praying. Then he stood up and faced Kyo. He smiled serenely. "I am surprised to see a Shard of my old home here. I suppose, this clears up my question, wether or not I died to arrive here.", he explained, with a slight sorrowful tone in his voice.

"But, you are not here to see me grieve and I am not one to embarrass other through my emotions. So, let us put this behind us and engage in honorable combat." He took a stance, holding his upper body low and his right leg forward. His left hand reaching behind his back, while the right palm was held out toward Kyo.

"Don't worry, I won't hold back."

Last Battlefield

Diane and Dust found themselves on a deserted battlefield. The ground was overturned by thousands of feet and a few patches of grass could be seen here or there, as sole survivors of the plains.

Cannonballs were stuck in the ground and burned flags waved in the wind, as past remnants of the regiments that fought here. Broken pikes and shattered blades stuck out like abandoned tombstones. Muddy ramparts, broken fortifications and ruined castles could be seen in the distance. A giant corpse, resembling a Titan, clad in plate-armor and the size of a skyscraper, dominated the middle of the battlefield. It looked long dead, but no rot had set in.

On its back, smoking a pipe, sat a warrior. It was a woman, that much was obvious. She was wearing a brimmed hat, with a red feather in it. Her clothes were garish and colourful, as if someone dunked her into a rainbow. Puffy sleeves and pants, with frills, completed a ridicoulous and highly expensive outfit. Three seperate purses hung on her belt, along with four flintlock pistols strapped to her chest, and she wore boots that were freshly polished and reached up to her knees.

As she saw the new fighters, she took a long draft from her pipe and blew out a ring of smoke. Worldless, the young woman stood up. She reached to the side and pulled out a long halberd out of the titans back.

Then, she waited...

Last Battlefield

There was something almost comforting about this battleground to Dust. Though it was overturned and forgotten, the barely surviving nature and the presence of the colossal corpse seemed to tell a thousand stories in and of itself. She wondered what world this Shard belonged to. What its stories really were. But then she saw their opponent, and her gaze firmly locked onto them.

Colourful attire, many weapons. Almost like a swashbuckler. Quiet, too. Straight to the point. Dust appreciated that. With a nod of approval and a look towards Goliath and Diane, she addressed their foe in short.

“May the best fighter win.”

...Probably not the most original words ever spoken here. But then again, Dust really couldn't think of anything else appropriate to say. Without much shifting her stance, she let her sabres form in her hands—the twin blades rapidly coalescing from the sand that made up her form.

And upon seeing the halberd the woman was wielding, mentally prepared to move in an instant.

Forgotten Temple

Passing through the Cathedral doors, Kyo looks up at the temple's vast designs with an expression that could only be akin to that of a child receiving their birthday presents. His glee would only intensify, seeing the open nature of the arena was, essentially, perfect for him—an electric rush surges through his limbs at the mere thought of the ensuing battle.

Though he pauses at noticing Sassan’s words, it's not for very long.

"Ah, why the long face? Dying isn't so bad.", indicating the Mystic’s gloomy tone. His wondrous expression from earlier morphs into a knowing grin. Practically a brutal slash stretched across his pale face, on its own. "Once you get used to it, that is."

Yet still, seeing Sassan finally rise from the floor, the boy clasps his hands together in anticipating delight. “Good! I don't like wasting time on chitchat, either,", he says, comically beaming with approval. "Not a lot of people realise you didn't come here to hear their life story, you know. So, how about we get started?”

At the moment his opponent has time to finish his sentences, however, Kyo’s merry disposition suddenly disappears. What gets left behind? Nothing, really, except his deathly gaze.

“...But don't expect me to fight fair.”

In the space between two blinks, Sassan would catch Kyo crouching high up on one of the temple’s pillars—and in the next freely sailing through the air above him, a curving kick aimed directly for the back of his head.

Forgotten Temple

Kyo's kick impacted with a loud bang on Sassan's head. For a brief moment he hung in the air. Instead of the expected broken skull, he however saw that his foot had been blocked by the mystics right arm.

Sassan smiled. "I didn't expect anything less.", he said and pushed Kyo away.

He took several steps backwards and took the same stance. His left hand was still pressed on his back. He then closed his eyes, before opening them wide. Kyo was hit by something blindingly fast, though not fast enough for him not to block it. The impact threw him back several feet.

A green arm grew out of Sassan's back. It was thin and elongated, easily reaching up to five meters in length. It snapped back like rubber, its fist clenched.

"Daeva's Left Arm, strike my enemy.", said Sassan and the green arm shot forward again, this time aiming for Kyo's face. The mystic meanwhile started to concentrate...

"Sweet!" Seeing Sassan deflect his kick in a burst of rising dust, a shine of enthusiasm seems to spark in Kyo's eyes. "I think I'm going to like you," he muses, skidding violently backwards with his arms crossed in a defensive stance. The catlike boy straightens up just as rapidly, and takes a calculated leap into the air, stare fixed on the construct Sassan had summoned out of his back.

Bur when the eerie arm rockets out for him again, oddly, Kyo seems to lunge into its reach, instead of dodging backwards.

Its punch hurtles headlong towards him, and at the last second, the entire scene bizarrely seems to hang still—as an unnatural shockwave passes through the surrounding air. Kyo takes the opportunity to cartwheel up and over its strike, seizing the arm firmly round its 'wrist'.

Now literally head-over-heels, he twists in midair and pulls the whole thing down with him—the arm would find itself dragged into the ground by the force of 20 full tons as gravity abruptly resumes in Kyo's body.
It meets the carpets with a resounding smash, probably buried quite deep into the sandstone at that point.

"Whew! How'd you like that?" Kyo huffs, appearing to parade his little display of acrobatics.

He doesn't stay his advance for more than a second, however, rushing to close the distance between him and the Mystic once again. This time, his intent seemed to be a little more complicated.

An iridescent glow begins to spread from the places on the floor he'd stepped on.

Forgotten Temple

What should have been an eventful battle between two individuals quickly turned into anything but. As Kyo rushed to close the distance between his opponent, the bright orange flame of the bowl in the center flickered, but only for a moment, before it reignited a pale, sickly green color. And from within those flames came faces, eyeless, hopeless, in constant agony as their wails echoed over each other. And from within that pyre of green and black, a pair of smoldering red eyes stared out.

A heavy metal boot stomping out was the first thing seen of the massive mountain of a creature. The shoulder followed, gunmetal grey, spiked and attached to it a massive, clawed gauntlet. A belt wrapped around his waist, the buckle massive, hefty and pulsing with an unnatural aura of red energy. A lone cloak billowed off his right shoulder and his face covered in a mask, a rictus grin plastered over the mask and hiding the entirety of his face.

Once he exited the flaming portal, the bright red eyes flickered to his new surroundings for only a moment, before his attention turned back to the two fighters off to the side. His eyes slightly widened at the sight of their powers, their prowess, their strength.

Somehow, the mask on his face grew in malicicous excitement, and the wailing started back up, echoing in the dome surrounding them.

"You..." He began with a low, wicked chuckle as he gripped his right hand tightly and then relaxed it, as a long lash of lime green energy slowly extended outward from it, and the wailing grew ever more intense.

"You two look strong..." He chuckled and with a flash of his eye, he held up his hand and SWUNG his lash directly at Sassan.

"YOU LOOK LIKE FUN!"

The Cathedral

"What in the-" The gathered fighter stared in shock, as a masked newcomer suddenly intervened in the fight between Sassan and Kyo. Nobody knew how he had done that. The Shard were supposed to be isolated from the dimensions. Any kind of intrusion, oustide the doors was impossible.

The Moderator however did not even raise an eyebrow. She lazily leaned back and gave a slightly interested smile. Then she cleared her throat. "Attention! The fight between Sassan and Kyo will continue without interruption. The new challenger will join them."

She looked at her slab. "Last one standing wins!"

Forgotten Temple

Sassan clenched his teeth as the lash whipped towards him. He felt the necrotic energy and could see the floor being torn up, as it cut through it like a hot knife through butter.

"Ahura's Right Arm, Protect Me!"

The black lash crashed against something solid and a shockwave ran through the temple. Crackling, the necrotic energy bounced off and returned to its sinsister master. Before Sassan was now a golden right arm, growing out of his back. It was shorter and much thicker than the green one and its wide palm was smoking, where the lash had struck it.

Sassan glared at the dark figure and pulled his green arm out of the stone, holding it ready over his head. "Who are you? I can hear the wailing of countless souls within you. Your presence defiles this holy place...", he snapped.

A small drop of sweat rolled down Sassan's forehead. This one was dangerous, he could feel it...

Forgotten Temple

"Gahhh...?!"

Kyo reels back at the appearance of a studded boot hauling itself out of the fire, glaring in a mix of surprise and annoyance at the new challenger as he stops dead in his pursuit. Another fighter?
From what he'd heard about Valhalla, it shouldn't even be possible, but the shock that seizes his features turns out to be only temporary—he quickly springs out of range of the wailing lash, eventually coming to rest coiled on the ceiling above.

Looking on as Soul Slash crashes upon the golden arm, Kyo frowns. Sassan was this armoured grunt's target, but only for now; what would he do when the turn falls on him? It wasn't like he had any particular defense against necrosis. Or whatever effect the so-called souls of the damned would end up causing to this 'holy' stage, anyway.

Well, well, the more the merrier.

Kyo decides that's something to worry about later. ...Maybe a little too spontaneously.

The boy edges closer towards the arch of the dome, tacking a few of his pin-badge explosives between his fingers for good measure. Preparing to dodge or block any attacks thrown his way in a split second, he watches as Sassan's poise unravels, still scanning for any possible openings.

With the barely-visible sheen of his ability spreading outwards from the roof, a tactic comes to mind.

The Cathedral

The look of surprise, worry, disgust, all of it was the greatest thrill that Zsran could ever hope to feel from those before he snuffed them out like candles.

The attack was blocked but he never truly anticipated hitting anyone with it. It was meant to beckon his arrival, meant to show his strength and his might. He did admit he found it impressive they blocked with their own power as opposed to moving out of the way, so he had to give him some credit.

Of course blocking it made him look weak.

He didn't like looking weak.

So he was going to be his primary target. The child didn't interest him...just yet.

"You needn't worry about me defiling your sacred land, my friend..." He chuckled a bit, head tilting to the side as he eyed his opponent, cracking, ethereal energy zapping its way down his gloves, casting an even more hideous glow about his body as his grin on his mask somehow widened.

"Once this place is ashes under my boot, defilement will be the LEAST of your worries." And he rushed forward, his claws crackling with that same unholy energy. This new opponent was very blunt with his movements and strategy it seemed, and once he got close enough to his target, he would swing his gloves into Sassan's chest, with the full intent to rip his soul out of his very body...

But of course, even if he didn't, gutting him would be JUST as fun.

Diane seemed to stare at the colorful woman for an odd amount of time. Perhaps she was thinking. Perhaps she was scheming. Perhaps she was simply mesmerized by the colorful opposition. Regardless of what was going on in her head, upon hearing Dust’s words, she grinned. It was a cold grin, unlike the childish beaming from earlier. “Indeed” was all she said, before both she and Goliath rushed forward to face the challenger

The two were fast, much faster than the hulking abomination that was Goliath seemed, and it almost caught both Dust and the Colorful Woman off guard. Speeding towards the Woman, Diane’s blood red eyes alone were revealing a much more unstable side of herself, as Goliath, expressionless as always barreled forwards, readying to crush anything in his way.

Forgotten Temple

Sassan frowned at the stranger's words. "A tyrants words...", he commented and dug his heels into the floor, preparing for the impact. The sinister madmen rushed forward and swung his claw-like gloves towards the mystic.

The golden arm folded itself before Sassan and its wide palm caught the shadowy claw. It then gripped it tight and steam rose from it, as the holy energy began to burn the strangers arm.

The green arm coiled up and then snapped forward, crashing with full force into the strangers mask and throwing his neck backwards. The golden palm held him in place however and soon the green arm rained a flurry of blows down.

Eventually, a particulary strong hit caused the stranger to be flung out of the golden palms grip and smash into a nearby pillar. The golden arm slowly dissipated, as its energy seemed spent. Sassan stepped forward, his stance without any obvious opening.

"I know your kind. You are not as special, as you may believe. Tin-Tyrants, Overlords and other Oppressors always find their way to Valhalla. Drunk on their own power and with the firm belief in their own strength.", he said, his voice grave. His fists clenched. "And they all learn the same lesson: That they merely a fat frog in a small puddle."

Then his green arm rushed forward again, its fingers outstretched to impale the intruder.

The warrior watched Diane and Goliath charge forward. The massive golem was surprisingly fast, as he begean to pick up more speed. Frowning a bit, she jumped down from the titans carcass, her brown, curly hair bouncing in the wind.

She slowly walked towards the charging Goliath, her halberd held with in front of her. Then she reached a certain point and slammed her foot down. From the muddy ground, wooden spikes jutted outward. A anti-cavalry fence, that had been buried in the heat of battle. Then she kneeled behind it, halberd raised and pointing straight at the golems throat, ready to skewer him, once he reached her.

Dust noted the woman's intelligent strategy. She seemed cautious. Counteractive instead of aggressive herself. At least so far. She appeared to be attempting to turn her new allies' aggression back on themselves now. The cover was going to be a pain, but Dust knew she should probably act...

With a breathless sigh through her nostrils, she made a cautious half-circle around before beginning to sprint forward towards the woman near the outermost edge of the spike defense. As she grew near she suddenly kicked herself up off from the ground; twisting her body into a corkscrewing clip and aiming to tightly arc right over the woman's head. As she passed, she would aim to slash rapidly at her scalp with her blades. More of a test than a genuinely serious attempt at hurting her.

Undoubtedly the grit upon the sabres' edges would make the wounds even more uncomfortable.

Forgotten Temple

With Ahura's Right Arm finally out of the way (even though it had only been a few seconds since the masked third party's arrival, Kyo was already starting to get restless lying in wait) and the elastic green one targeted at Zsran, a victorious leer splits Kyo's face. As he saw it? Right now, there wasn't anything left to stop him from crashing their little party, so to speak.

"Hey, don't think you're gonna get to have all the fun!"

Kyo pounces out from the ceiling, destroying a pillar towering above Sassan with a sweeping kick—it shatters abruptly with a hail of chunks of debris and showering dust, in a collision course for the carpets below. The remains of the dome's pillar would've more than likely taken out any normal person who happened to be unlucky enough to stand underneath it.

That is, if they ever actually fell.

Seconds now slowed and seperating like drops from a leaky faucet, the debris freezes moments before it impacts the fighters and instead begins to drift into the air...along with literally everything else in the room. Of course, that would include the two still lingering below; the floor would soon become impossible to stand on anyway, with its sandstone cracking and splitting violently, as if the ground itself is starting to feel the upwards pull.

Kyo's expression, on the other hand, is now downright bloodthirsty. He darts for Sassan from behind—him first and the more worn-down Zsran later, he reasons—reaching impatiently out with his explosives. On the off chance the Mystic has enough time to turn around before he catches up, Kyo would cut through the obscuring mass of debris, before smashing one of the suspended boulders straight at him.

Head In The Clouds 3/3 ready. Sassan and Zsran take 1 damage upon activation.

Well, that’d be jus’ a waste. Why would ya want to deprive the world of such anomaly as yourself?

Even as the Colorful Woman pulled up that fence, Diane’s face did not betray her one bit. Charging forward just as before, Diane, her eyes still practically blazing, simply tapped Goliath on the shoulder.

They were almost to the fence now, and it would be very difficult to get past it unharmed, let alone land a hit on the Woman. But the duo simply barreled forward, sprinting, dashing, and then, as suddenly as he began the brute came to a stop.

Diane’s grin widened as Goliath took his four massive arms, and slammed them with the force of a train, not on the fence, not on the woman, but the ground be in front of them. The resulting shockwave did the rest of the work. The fence was almost immediate blown away, and Goliath used the opportunity to land a colossal punch on the Woman, who had been thrown up in the air from the shockwave.

Diane was cackling.

Forgotten Temple

His attack was halted.

He slammed into the nearby pillar, cracking the infrastructure.

And then gravity chose at that moment to slam him down onto the ground, forcing him onto his knees and grunting loudly. It had been a long, long time since he'd felt that.

And that gave him that rush of enthusiasm about this whole fight. Long, long, long had he hoped for a battle, for a fight of some kind of measure. The previous one was where he got his magical relic.

But it wasn't because it was a good fight, oh no. It was because they would FUEL him. It's because they would give him strength even he couldn't imagine. So when he saw Kyo making a rush for Sassan, he felt his blood boil and his excitement rise.

They would make such grand additions, these two.

His claws sank into the cracking ground like it was simple mud and the howling, and wailing, of his undead hoard began to grow in a loud cacophony of agony as his eyes glowed bright green, and wisps of screaming smoke began to build around him, swirling around like a vicious wind...

Forgotten Temple

Sassan's attack missed the Intruder by a hairs-breath. The fingers of his green arm crashed into the pillar above the tyrant, piercing the stone until it was buried in it to its knuckles. The mystic hesitated, confused. He had aimed well and Daeva's Left Arm was usually accurate, if nothing interrupted its flight.

Then he was slowly lifting off the ground. His feet lost traction and for a brief moment Sassan was turning aimlessly in the air, as gravity went mad. "What the-"

He was interrupted by an explosion above him. Debris was falling everywhere. No...not falling, floating. Chunks of rock and larger boulders were creating something of an asteroid field in the middle of the temple, with more debris added to it, as the structure slowly collapsed under the new forces working upon it.

Sassan reached out with Daeva's Arm and caught onto a larger piece, pulling himself towards it. Now, he had at least a point of reference. Above him, the shadowy figure was digging its claws into the ground to prevent itself from being caught by the gravity-well.

Then something touched his back. The mystic whirled around, but Kyo was already flying away, his face split by a shit-eating grin. Before Sassan could say anything, the stickers on his back exploded. He was thrown into multiple directions as they went off one after another.

Unable to control the sudden force of motion, he was nearly flung out fo the temple. Just in time, he caught one of the outer pillars and clinged to it. His robes were singed and he could feel his back throb in pain. His concentration was shattered and Daeva's Arm vanished. A look behind him showed that the temple was floating in a massive void, a small island in a vast Nothingness. If he had not caught the pillar...

He shuddered. This was getting more dangerous by the second. He saw Kyo floating in the inner sanctum and gritted his teeth. "Daeva's Left Arm, strike my enemy.", he chanted again and the green arm appeared once more, shooting towards the boy. Before it reached him, it suddenly veered off, only to change direction again and again, until it suddenly rushed him from behind.

Meanwhile, Sassan was closing his eyes. He needed something big. He had hoped on not needing to use it, but he had to end this fight before it got out of hand. "Spirit of Holy Light, guide me...", he started the first verse.

She watched Goliath closely, as he rushed towards her. When he slammed his fists into the ground, she grunted and jumped backwards to avoid the shockwave. The massive bruiser rushed through the dust, dirt and mud to bullrush her, his huge fist ready to punch her head off.

Her halberd was faster. Already the sharp tip was inches away from his face, before he even reached her. His momentum was too much for him to evade this, as he realized that the warrior had used his shockwave as cover for a counterstrike.

Thankfully, Dusk intervened. In her semi-solid form she flew in an arc to flank the woman. Her sabre-slashes forced her to pull the halberd to the side and parry the attacks. Goliath moved forward and his fist collided with the hastily raised halberd, breaking it. Splinter flew everywhere and the blade landed several feet to the side.

The mercenary herself was flung backward, but keeping herself on her feet, as she dug her heels into the muddy earth. She coughed a bit, touching her chest, no doubt feeling the cracked ribs.

She grabbed a large Zweihander, that was sticking out of the ground beside her, and lifted it up, as if it weighed nothing. Then, she rushed forward. Slamming the massive blade towards Goliath in a long overhead arc, she didn't wait for the blade to connect.

Instead, she let it go, pulled two flintlock-pistols out of her bandolier and fired at Dusk, accurately aiming at her core. Flinging the pistols as clubs over to Diane, she yanked a flagpole out of the battlefield and threw the big fabric over Dusk, to obscure her vision.

Then she jumped several steps backwards, reached for a broken spear, took her halberd-blade and attached it to the wooden pole in less than a second. Holding her weapon again, she took a new defensive stance, watching her enemies closely...

Diane nearly grimaced as Goliath was nearly impaled by a pole arm. That was bad. If it weren’t for Dust and sheer luck, Goliath would have been shish kebabed by right about now. She would have to thank her later, but now wasn’t the time. She risked a glance up to her opponent.

Much to her dismay, she and her teammates couldn’t win this fight through brute strength alone. She had to come up with some sort of strategy. Maybe if Dust were to... She shifted her focus back to the twin pistols flying towards her face, which were thankfully swatted out of the way by one of Goliath’s tentacles. As she saw her opponent attempt to get some more distance she began to panic. She couldn’t let her set herself back up again. It didn’t go too well last time.

As Goliath prepared to charge forward again, still angry at the attempt to land a hit on Diane, she tapped him on the shoulder, getting his attention. “No. Not yet...” She gestured down to the floor, to a great axe, embedded in the ground. Goliath nodded in understanding, and rushed over to the opposition, this time much more purposefully

Their guard was up now. They couldn’t afford to be as defenseless as last time. And they couldn’t afford to let her defend herself either. They needed a plan. As Goliath began to head towards the woman, he pick up the great axe with one of his tentacles. It would have been a difficult task were he simply a man, but the tendrils on his back were more than enough for the job.

As his tentacles coiled around the axe, he lifted it out of the ground as he dashed forward and threw it, full force at the woman. She was almost settled down again, once again in her defensive stance, when the axe, slicing through the air, came to hit her.But he wasn’t done yet. Still charging towards her, he picked up another object from the ground, a sword this time, and threw it. He picked up another. It was a hammer. Then another and another and another.

They probably wouldn’t hit. They didn’t have to. But she couldn’t defend herself just standing there. All he had to do was keep the pressure on her. Just draw her attention, make sure she was moving, and the moment she made a slip, did, Dust would be there to make her move.

Fighting, like everything else, was a lot better with friends.

Full health! Tentacles 1/1 charged! 1 damage imminent.
