According to Deadline, Michael Bishop will now play Jonathan Kent.
Hope he does well in the show.

Here's a new trailer for the upcoming Season 3, still coming out on March 14. It shows off Michael Bishop as Jon Kent, and details about Lois's situation this season.
I do like him, interested in seeing how he'll play the character.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlySupes and Lois is back!
Not 100% sold on the new Jon yet, but a good episode nonetheless. I immediately thought Mannheim looked familiar, and yeah, it's the same guy who played Tobias Church in Arrow.

Man, Clark putting that piece of shit of a dad into his place was so cathartic!

Even in an alternate unviverse, Clark always embarrasses some chump in a bar.
One Strip! One Strip!I kinda really hope this how eventually has their version of Jon Kent come out as bi. Idk, it seems like a bad look to adapt a queer character but ignore their sexuality (I'm aware the show began before Jon came out in the comics, but the same was true for Tim Drake in Titans and they addressed his sexuality)
I still think Jordan is closer to a comics version of Jon than the actual Jon is, only he refreshingly isn't bi.

Which makes me think why didn't they just switch the names? Being an original creation for the show, Jordan does come off as a creator's pet at times. Not enough to be annoying, but enough to feel Clark and Lois's actual son from the comics being sidelined.
But anyway, I just want Jon to be bi in the show because why the hell not? A self-discovery journey would be a nice arc for the character, and in the comics he helps his boyfriend uncover a conspiracy involving a corrupt government, it would be nice to see it adapted
For the first season, I had this theory that Jon would end up taking a dive/bullet for Jordan and in honour of his fallen brother, Jordan changes his name to Jon.
It probably would be problematic to manifest that now if he were to be 'outed'
I think it's more like Jon and Jordan in the show are a Decomposite Character of comics Jon.
Having read that comic arc (Superman: Son of Kal-El) hopefully the show would do it better than the book.
Also it prolly be better to give Jon an OC boyfriend, Jay is just blah.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Idk, I kinda love Jay. I like the way he uses humor to mask his trauma and how he is not afraid to push boundaries Superman wouldn't normally push to fight for what he believes in. His dynamic with Jon, the way I see it, is kinda like unstoppable force meets immovable object.
Also love how he's Lois' legacy character. Like, if they included him in the show, with his underground reporter background, it could create a nice dynamic with this show's Lois, ans it would be great to see Jon helping them and maybe becoming more like his mother the way Jordan seems to be becoming more like his dad.
Did you read the following arc, the Battle For Gamorrah? That's when Jay is more explored as a character.

I've read the entirety of that book, Jay never really amounted above meh. Which in fairness that book was very meh all around. Tom Taylor did not put in his best work. At this point I'm waiting till he's off the character and someone else can write Jon.
Also Jay being like Lois is a big reason why I don't like him. Jon already struggles with being a clone of his father, more so than the actual clone so having Jon date another reporter like his mom only worsens the comparisons as it doesn't make Jon his own person.
Of course this is specifically about comic Jon, show Jon doesn't have those issues.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
A pity you felt he was meh. While I do admit the run had its issues Jay was for me the highlight. But that's just my opinion, it's ok that yours is different.
Even if they do introduce Jay, I would expect him to be different from the comics, I just hope his journalist background and ruthlessness are not forgotten about.
Aww, and he did such a good job. Though if it's personal reasons it's best to let the actor have his time to handle that.
