Location: Basement of your dormitory

Felix Mamzer paced around the basement of Puella Magicas House, the smallest of the dormitories surrounding the Vetus Taediosum's Academy School for Young Women. As the House's official 'den mother' (Gender Equality laws had meant they may have had to consider Felix for the position but couldn't force the hoary school board to actually change the title), he could easily have explained what he was doing there. Explaining what he was doing with the apparently unconscious bodies of the dormitory's residents and a collection of various colored crystals, metal rods, carefully drawn chalk circles and arcane runes, and a hastily ordered bucket of fried chicken would have been less easily explained. Fortunately the ritual was almost done and, with a little bit of luck, he wouldn't be disturbed....

"Cra.... crud." Felix swore aloud, realizing what he had just thought. The sound of broken glass filled the room, as if in echo to his abortive swear word. Felix spun to face the small, now-broken small window high on the wall of the basement. A small creature, looking like a bulldog with leather batwings grafted to its back, was squeezing in through the opening. The beast's small beady eyes were glowing with a red light and glowing green drool dripping from its jaws.

Felix grabbed a broom and begin flailing as the beast leaped into the room, hoping he could stop the beast from completely destroying the complex magical workings Felix had constructed.

You awaken to the sound of fighting. Looking up, you see you are laying on a narrow cot in a dank room, lit by an incandescent bulb hanging from a wire in the ceiling and a (broken) glass window set high up on one wall. A lanky man, appearing in his thirties, is wielding a broom against a strange, small creature. You can see words floating briefly in front of your view. Above the man are the words "Ally: Felix" and above the small beast are the words    "Hell Puppy. Level: 1. Stress: 0 of 10"   .

Hell Puppy: While not actually from hell, these small creatures can be devilishly annoying. They are often sent to harass foes of the Aterian Order, although some Aterian Noble Ladies carry specially bred Hell Puppies in their purses.

Yuki's body leaps out of the cot, instantly alert. "Wh... what is this real-world GUI nonsense?" It shakes its head. "No, that's a question for another time. There's a rabid dog that needs to be put down." It reaches for something at its hip, but is visibly shocked to find nothing there. "What?" It looks at itself. "... What? ... Later. No weapon on hand, fists it is!" It prepares to athletically wrestle the hell puppy to the ground.

Yuki tries to grab the Hell Puppy...

Yuki: Athletics (2) * Dice (1) = 2

Puppy: Level (1) * Dice (4) = 4

Puppy deals 2 damage to Yuki! (Puppy's attack divided by Yuki's Athletics)

The Hell Puppy squirms and scrambles out of Yuki's grip, some of its drool dripping down onto Yuki's arm. Yuki sees a new message flash.

Stress: 2 / 30

Felix swats futilely at the Hell Puppy again with the broom, doing no damage. "Unseen Shadow! Use your shadow blade attack on it!" he snaps.

Lloyd stirs in his sleep for a while, dreaming about giant white rabbits. As he wakes up, he doesn't open his eyes as they are somewhat glued shut from the eye crust. He rubs out most of the residue before flipping his head over to the other side and stretches. Yet he can't fully stretch as his arm gets caught in between the poles.

Lloyd begins to freak out, attempting to pull his arm free. "Ow!! What the hell!?" He shouts as he's now fully awake. He suddenly notices the ongoing battle and the title. "This is pretty cool for a realistic dream, I guess." He is now calm, and proceeds to remove his arm from the bed.

"Blue Amber!" Felix managed to shove the Hell Puppy back with the broom, the bristles of the broom rapidly dissolving due to the green slobber coming from the creature's jaws. "You're awake, grab your axe and come HELP!"

"Guess I'll stay for a while." He thinks. He attempts to look for his axe across the room. "I don't see it anywhere, though." He says rather calmly.

Felix uses BROOM SMASH! It's Super Effective!

Felix: Skill (0) * Dice (4) = 0

Hell Puppy: Level (1) * Dice (6) = 6

Felix cries in pain as the Hell Puppy dodges the broom and the Hell Puppy sinks its teeth into his calf.

Any of the magical girls looking at Felix will see Ally Felix, Stress 6/10.

Although Lloyd is still in a somewhat drowsy state, he feels odd... He knows this is a dream, yet the sense of adrenaline and genuine worry conflicts with him.

"Damnit, I guess I don't want to see anyone die..." He whispers as he grabs a pillow. He throws it towards the dog.

Attribute: Luck

Lloyd: Luck(3) * Dice (2) = 6

Hell Puppy: Level (1) * Dice (5) = 5

The Hell Puppy is too busy chewing on Felix's leg to notice the pillow before it hits it in the back of the head.

   Hell Puppy, Level 1. Stress: 6 / 10   

With a yelp, the Hell Puppy turns and starts stalking toward Lloyd.

Lloyd tips backwards against the polls of his bed and flips it over himself, creating a makeshift cage.

"I don't know how this works, uhh..." He pictures an axe within his mind and shouts, "Summon axe!"

"My what attack?!" Yuki's body scrambles back to its feet. "I just got here! This isn't even my body! I don't know what fancy moves it might have in stock, much less how to use them!" It grabs a bucket out of a corner and tries to skillfully shove it over the puppy's head.

A magical axe appears in Lloyd's hand, just as the Hell Puppy snarls and tries to break through to get Lloyd.

Yuki spots a bucket and tries to use its skill in being a maid to shove the bucket on top of the Hell Puppy's head.

Invalid Attribute Selection.

Yuki spots a bucket and tries to use its skill in being a maid athletics to shove the bucket of top of the Hell Puppy's head.

Yuki: Athletics (2) * Dice (6) = 12

Hell Puppy: Level (1) * Dice (6) = 1

Yuki and Lloyd both see the message change to    Hell Puppy, level 1. Stress: 12 / 10    and then the demonic, dog like creature explodes into rainbow sparkles.

Felix sighs in relief, swiping the sweat from his forehead. "Good work, Unseen Shade. Are you all right, Blue Amber?"

Yuki has gained +4 Favor. 

Yuki: 10 favor

Lloyd: 4 favor

Yuki's body looks around the room, taking in the sight of crystals, arcane circles, and other occult paraphernalia. "Dude. What did you do?"

Lloyd takes a few seconds to respond as he gets out of his bed. He then reads the stats. "I didn't get to use my cool axe!" He says, twirling it in his fingers. "This dream is cool though. Like an isekai!" He says smiling.

"Ah, yes... sorry, you two are obviously still a little mentally discombobulated from the soul restoring ritual." said Felix.

"Well, I was planning to wait for your other teammates to wake, but I suppose it won't hurt to repeat this later for them. I don't know how much you remember, but all of you were going up against the Aterian Princess Adrestia in what Princess Star White was hoping would be the final campaign against the Aterian Invasion of Aerth. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an elaborate trap set by Adrestia, to lure you all to where she could rip the souls from your bodies. Princess Star White realized too late to save herself and succumbed to what I can only assume was over-emotion. Rather then the logical course of saving herself, she used her remaining power to send your bodies back to the dormitory. When I realized what had happened, I used my skills of Atlantian Magicks to create this ritual. As should be obvious to even primitives with no magickal knowledge, the ritual was brilliantly designed to pull your souls from Adrestia and return them to your bodies."

Star White: Atlantian warrior princess. She and her valet, Felix Mamzer, travelled from the Atlantian realm to the realm of Aerth when she realized that the Atarian realm was planning to attack Aerth. 

Adrestia: Aterian Warrior princess. Leader of the invading Atarian force planning to either conquer Aerth or to steal all/most of Aerth's resources. 

Atlantia: One of several parallel worlds where sentient beings have either evolved in parallel or spread among. Atlantia is obviously the most superior of all known parallel worlds. 

Ateria: One of several parallel worlds where sentient beings have either evolved in parallel or spread among. Ateria is one of the worst, being home of the Aterian Empire with their deep-seated envy and hatred of Atlantia superiority. 

Aerth: One of several parallel worlds where sentient beings have either evolved in parallel or colonized. Unusual in the residents of Aerth are mistaken about the name of the world, believing wrongly that it should be called 'Earth', and also the vast majority are unaware of magic or of the self-evident superiority of Atlantia.

"... You did it wrong," Yuki's body says bluntly. "I'm not Unseen Shadow. Somehow you pulled some other soul from some other body — from some other universe, it looks like!"

Ian slowly wakes up after all the commotion and wipes the sleep from his(?) eyes...

"Uuwa? What did I miss?"

...then rolls out of bed and hits the floor face-first.

"ow."

"So cool... Felix did say we were mentally discombubulated, though. Maybe we only think we used to be from Earth?" He says, ignoring the one who just fsce-planted on the ground.

"No, I pretty distinctly remember my life in the previous world."

Lloyd prods the lamp with his axe. Not looking towards anyone, he says: "I remember my previous life as well. But this dream has gone on for long enough." He says.

Lloyd twirls the axe around and aims it towards his chest. "I should probably check to see if I didn't wet my bed or something. Although this was a rather nice dream, so I'll probably be back for a round two!"

Yuki's body swiftly appears behind Lloyd and delivers a harsh Dope Slap. "Don't do that. Pinch yourself if you think you're dreaming, don't kill yourself."

Felix sighs at the muffled thump and the call of 'ow'. "I see Dreamblader is awake."

"Dreamblader, would you PLEASE come and tell Unseen Shade and Blue Amber who they are? Oh, and that while YES, the poor unenlightened residents of this world may call it..." Felix say, then pauses to mime double quoted for the next word. "... Earth, now that Princess Star White has recruited you as her Solders of Light, you should refer to this world by its proper, Atlantian granted name of Aerth."

Felix eeps and rushes over to wave his hands at Lloyd. "No, no, don't do that... you ARE one of Star White's Soldiers of Light, I promise! Princess Adrestia may have maybe planted false memories in you!".

Yuki's body stifled a chuckle at the latest popup. "I'm tempted to go along with that, just to distinguish it from the Earth I was on last night... but honestly, shouldn't something like the planet's name be decided by the people who actually live there?"

Lloyd flinched at the slap. "Argh! Fine... I'll play along for a bit longer then! Sheesh." He huffs as he puts down his axe.

"Aerith, huh? That's rather neat... But yeah, what gives?"

Felix gives a long, slow sigh. "No, just 'Aerth'." he said, then walked over to a brick wall of the basement. He pulled a piece of chalk from his pocket and carefully wrote 'AERTH' on the wall. "Princess Star White and I come from a world called Atlantia. She discovered that the Atlantia's hereditary enemy, the Atarian empire, had found a way to Aerth and were planning to invade it. Once here, she recruited all of you as her new 'Army of Light' to stop the Aerth Invasion, and she gave you new battle names and also imbued into you the powers of Atlantian Warriors. I granted you the superior knowledge of Atlantias in order for you to better serve Princess Star White."

"Princess Star White came alone because the rest of her family, frankly, doesn't consider this planet worth the effort of saving." Felix said. "She thought with your help she could stop the Atarians. If the Atarians kill her, Princess Star White knew her soul would return to the Palace of Light on Atlantia and her family will be honor bound to avenge her."

Felix points. "Since I haven't heard from Empress Eternal Emerald yet, Princess Adrestia must still have Princess Star White's soul in whatever she used to take your souls from your bodies. If we can find where Princess Adrestia's base is, you can mount a suicidal charge... er, I mean, a strategic attack and free Princess Star White."

"While we... *I* try to find out where Princess Adrestia is, you lot will have to continue in your old roles of 'ordinary school students'."

Empress Eternal Emerald: Ruler of the Atlantia Empire, Defender of the Realm, Monarch of the Crystal Seas, She who Sits Upon the Throne of Light, and Princess Star White's maternal great-grandmother. The Atlantia Empire is a constitutional matriarchy, with rule passed down the female line. May She rein for another thousand years! - Felix Mamzer, First Valet to Princess Star White 

Codex Edit: Great-grandma is cool, if a bit busy. Running an empire that spans an entire planet and dealing with a multiverse of other populated worlds takes a lot of time. Oh, and Felix is my ONLY valet. - Star White.
