Oh bloody Hell, Mudrock, I fucking hated her boss stage.
Can't say anything about the Rat King, though, I missed that event.
In fact, I missed a lot of Events, but what can you do.
Anyway, the point is that events have been getting harder each time in order to provide an interesting challenge to long-time players, so as the 2nd event HoSF will likely seem relatively easy.
Yea, Pompeii was only troublesome because everyone was still relatively young and not fully leveled. Back then I just face tanked it with frigging Lapland and an Ao E healer.
Worse comes to worse, if we get the Thorns banner, a newer player could probably just gacha up and upgrade 4 star Jaye and make him turn Pompeii into dinner or something.
Or just go Ifrit + Eyja on its ass.
Because a flamethrower and a magma bombardment is totally the best way deal with a walking volcano.
I think a certain Thanos meme might be apt here.
I mention Jaye because he's a 4 star and the banner operator. He should be very easy to pull for and as a four-star he's very cheap to upgrade, unlike Ifrit or Eyja. IIRC, he's pretty much an "I win" thing vs Pompeii, who has low defense and is Ao E focused but Jaye can self heal so doesn't need a medic as much, and is also fast-redeploy so if he does somehow die, you can just toss him back to battle again in a bit.

Alright turns out you don't need chips to promote 3 stars.
That said I am still gonna dedicate the weekend to farming a set of each available chip and LMD (so at least 3 Defender chips and 6 of the rest) so that I'll have enought to promote 2 4*+ operates of each role (Gummy is already E1)
EDIT: Also managed to 3 star the tier 3 supply missions. Which should make things slightly easier. BTW I've notice that the supply mission chains seem to have different level curves. Like one chain recommends E1 units for T3, while another just recommends level 40 unpromoted units and a third needs E1 L10 units for the same tier.
EDIT 2: finally got Cuora! no I just need to get Perfumer.

Jaye has been confirmed. As Tiamat Roar has said, this guy is a really good 4 star. Also we will indeed be getting Thorns banner. Goodluck!
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareFor me, I only have 20 rolls done since the last time I got a 6 star (the limited banner not counted as it doesn't count to regular pity rate), so unless if I luck out on the 5 star or above guarantee and get Thorns, I'll just keep rolling to guarantee on his plus whoever new 6 star banner will come after him (maybe Eunectes) to build my pity rate for Surtr.
Just an eagle. (Feel free to PM me if you want to talk to me).I'm just gonna use around 10 pulls for the guaranteed 5* and then save for the next banner

Just an eagle. (Feel free to PM me if you want to talk to me).Alright I got Cuora, Elysium and SilverAsh to E1. Gonna farm 3 Guard and Supporter chips...and then LMD to recoup the 55k spent.
I understand that SA's S2 is no Schwing schwing, but I'd still like opinions on the aforementioned units' newfound talents and E2 regardless (Also Gummy's S2 in the context of Pompeii).

Cuora is fine to work at E1 max as a lot of 4 stars tend to not be an E2 priority (except Myrtle), though E2 increases her defense buff talent. Meanwhile, Elysium's talent to reduce the DP of all snipers when deployed and increase their ASPD when activating his skill will both be enhanced at E2. And SA will gain both his S3 and a talent to reveal invisible enemies.
Also doing E2 will also unlock further individual skill upgrade that is called mastery.
Edit: As for Gummy, her RNG based talent will be improved in all aspects, with better chance, increased attack power and stun duration at E2. Also I think it's more effective to just use Gummy S1 for Pompeii tanking as S2 has more healing downtime.

Just an eagle. (Feel free to PM me if you want to talk to me).Basic pattern for E1/E2 upgrades is 4/5* get their second ability at E1 and talent upgrade at E2 while 6* get their second talent/third ability at E2.
, I made a typo was was suppose to say "S2", but I'll take that insight into account regardless.
Though it still leaves SA's S2 undiscussed.
It makes him good for tanking stuff because of his passive regen and buffed defense so if you want a specific chokepoint with annoying enemies to be held off, that makes him a decent option.
Yeah, SA S2 basically makes him a two block defender with higher than defender average ATK.
Just an eagle. (Feel free to PM me if you want to talk to me). That's prolly gonna be good because I'm thinking on benching Vanilla for Courier or Myrtle (assuming I get her) and from what I gather, the latter works simialr to Elysum's in that her DP charge also lets mobs slip right past her.
Yeah. You usually use flagbearers like Myrtle and Elysium by placing them in an isolated spot and let their superior DP generation to allow you summon stronger units quickly. Meanwhile DP-on-skill and DP-on-kill vanguards are both used to block early waves, with the former more on blocking two while generating DP, while the latter focuses on killing trash mob quickly due to their block one, but higher ATK than other VG archetypes.

Just an eagle. (Feel free to PM me if you want to talk to me).SA's S2 boosts his defense to a crikey level, higher than even the best 6* Operators (over 9000 800, 50 points higher than Nian), he can't get it much higher than that and his 2 Block gets in the way of proper defensive duties.
And AK, particularly later on, is ultimately all about proper timing, so a Cuora with her S2 will always outperform him at tanking.
Most Guards are not suitable tank/defender replacements, yeah. There are some who can hold down a low-enemy-intensity lane on their own, like Specter, Hellagur or Blaze, or who can manage on their own with a healer, but generally you'll always want a proper defender for the main lane(s) in a map.
It's been fun.The skill is pretty good for drawing away fire from squishier units if the map's challenge mode/Contingency Contract tag bans Defenders from your party.
AOE Guards are the exception, but only if they can kill the enemy units fast enough.
Also they need to be E2 for that to work, and their DP cost is higher than Defenders.
Tiamat@ That was pretty much me. I couldn't past the level that gave you the free unit and i was still getting use to the gameplay.
