After Ben Affleck, I think fans are just not as protective of WHO is playing Batman. The Twilight hate has also diminished because it was always a flash-in-the-pan series and not some mega-franchise.

Ben Affleck is my favorite Batman to date and it's a pity he's not coming back, but I'm not too mad about Robert Pattinson getting the part. He certainly has the chin for it.

I'm pretty eager to see where the DCEU goes from here. It had a very rocky start, but it's been pretty phenomenal since Wonder Woman (and yes, I am including Justice League in that equation, although it's definitely the weakest of the good DCEU movies). Shazam may be my favorite superhero movie ever.

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Production weekly has all the films/shows currently in production:

BLACK ADAM
THE SUICIDE SQUAD (w/t EL DORADO)

Yep, they list Black Adam as in production, but not The Batman, which is probably still in pre-production.

Has there been any recent news on the Cyborg solo film? If the Flash film is indeed happening, then what about Cyborg? Or are they scrapping that, and doing what Marvel does with the Hulk and have him appear in other DC films.

No news about either one and they might just not do anything with the character. Unlike the Hulk, he's not really that popular outside of Teen Titans.

He's still making appearances in DC adaptations such as Doom Patrol.

His portrayal in Doom Patrol is probably the best adaptation of him in live action.

His portrayal on Doom Patrol is probably an indicator there aren't any plans to use him on film anytime soon. They've cooled down somewhat recently, but WB for a while had a mad-on about the live-action shows using characters who were gonna be in the movies because they didn't wanna "confuse" audiences.

So the only member of the Justice League film that doesn't have any plans to appear again in the DCEU... is also the only black guy on the team.

That's unfortunate.

The cast of The Suicide Squad. John Cena and Michael Rooker are confirmed, Margot Robbie and Viola Davis are also confirmed back (thought it was heavily rumored anyway).

Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, and Jai Courtney, too. So that's Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, and Captain Boomerang. Which is neat, since Waller and Boomerang are pretty much staples of the Suicide Squad, while Harley has become a staple since the New 52.

I love the fact that the logo and their names are riddled with bullet holes.

Trailer when?

They haven't even started shooting, so probably not for a while.

I mean, technically, Ben Affleck's Batman also isn't appearing, and there are no plans for Superman (who will likely be recast/rebooted like Batman anyway).

Speaking of shooting...

The Batman will be filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden at Watford, England.

And it should start filming this November. I'm already itching to see Battinson in full costume.

[up]Nice nickname! Battinson.

I would like to watch the DCEU if I manage to finish watching the MCU films until September 23. I have schedules to do, fill and follow.

Battison will indeed be joining the Justic League Reboot

I mean I knew they weren't gonna make a Justic League 2 anytime soon, I just didn't expect them to also announce a reboot anytime soon.

But help me out here guys: So the only DCEU films released so far that will not retconned and will be part of the new continuity are Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam?

[up] I wouldn't trust We Got This Covered at all — they tend to be very, very clickbaity and often make shit up. Even then, you can tell the website is covering their asses by saying "expected to star" and "potential reboot." They are basically saying, "We think this is going to happen, but we have no proof."

As much as I have mixed feelings about both the DC films lately and Michael Bay's direction, a Michael Bay-directed Lobo film feels like a perfect match. I really want it now.

[up] I just want a Lobo film period. Such a fun character. I also don't hate Bay. I don't like him, but I don't think he is as bad as some say.

Michael Bay is good when he does what he can do: Popcorn flicks with much of explosion and cool action scenes.

Him trying to add well-written characters, comprehensible dialogue or "deep" storylines to the mix just results in cringey shit every time.

Wait Bay's doing Lobo?

Huh maybe if he puts some actual effort this time he might makes something decent.

[up] I recall that most of the characters in his movies hate each other & act like macho assholes so I'm not sure.

Too misanthropic. It's made clearer in films like Pain and Gain that Bay prefers it when his characters are tremendous jerks than multifaceted and sympathetic. Nobody actually likes each other in his movies.

It's been a while since I've seen The Rock, but isn't Nic Cage's character sympathetic?

Or just look at the two protagonists of his Transformers movies.

Sam is a bumbling, neurotic mess who can't hold a decent conversation or relationship with anyone without yelling, has no life skills meaning he can't find a job, & is always screaming because he's a gigantic coward.

Cade acts like a confrontational jerk to everyone even the Autobots & his own family, threatens violence on multiple people for no reason, can't hold down a job losing his house & is a terrible inventor despite constantly calling himself one, yells all the time as well, & at one point threatened to punch a child to his face.

Amusingly Mark Whalberg plays both Cade & the lead of Pain and Gain.
