Outside Foundation HQ

Eventually Vivian was able to pinpoint a signal atop the nearest radio tower several blocks away from HQ. It was faint, almost as though it was masqued, but it was there. If she focused, she could make out a robed figure in the distance with her enhanced vision. And he was floating right atop it. If anyone was causing this mess, he was a surefire candidate.

Meanwhile, the others were tearing through the zombies as best they could, but it almost seemed like a neverending struggle. For every zombie they thrashed, another took their place. It was possible that there was a limit to how many could be summoned up, but for now there was no way to tell. The only thing they could do was keep on smashing them to bits, and hope that taking out the ringleader was the answer.

"Well then, guess its time to go," he paused for a moment and walked toward Mahvash with a smile. "I'm not all that great at romantic gestures, I never really know what to get on anniversary's or holidays. And frankly in terms of charm or smooth lines you'd probably get more from a chatbot," he offered his hand to her. "But there is a massive army of zombies and some sort of wizard who can control storms and I can't help but think...Mahvash, would you do me the honor of dancing with me?"

The idea of fighting through hoards of zombies in the middle of a summoned hurricane was probably terrifying to some, or at least a poor idea of a date. But to Martin it was the core of his life. And he wouldn't want to be in the carnage with anyone else as his partner at that moment. "I've learned a few new 'steps' that might shock even you."

"You know it" Sam smiled to Lily. In spite of the bad situation, it was nice having her around, but started focusing on anything coming close.

Using the rain to his favor he turned drops into needles, to rain on whatever monster came close, before aiming at the legs.

"I'd say heads and major joints" Sam commented. Well that tends to work, but the rules tend to get muddled with all the variations that exist, and what the next bastard come up with next.

"With these numbers..." He muttered. A rain of swords followed. Perhaps more obstacles will do it.

Ryuu was having a hard time using his wind to blow away the clouds, but his own focus was split. Protecting the others was important too, and looking for anything getting too close, and his sixth sense was the only reason he hasn't been fried yet, and as it is, barely.

"I AM RETREATING" Sorano vanished from sight, letting Ryuu focus more on his duty clearing the sky.

Why?

YOUR HEALTH IS IMPORTANT Sorano said simply. Sometimes, it was hard to get more than that, but he needed to work.

Iris - Squad 2

After Holiday gifted Iris the drone, she lost her composure a bit. "Um.. th-thank you." Fortunately, she was able to get a grip on herself quick enough.

"By the way, be careful with those, you two. Even like that, they're still part of my body... somehow... and I'll still feel it if they get hit.

Once her warning was delivered, she sent her Children to their work. They'd search the building and assault any intruders they found.

And then Martin started flirting and Iris started to regret attaching an eye to him.

Rebecca - Squad 3

"Dammit, they just keep coming. Looks like we'll need to be smart about this..."

Let's see, what could she use to her advantage... It was raining. Hard. That could work. The rain wasn't having any adverse effect on her, because she converted whatever touched her to sludge... just expand that ability outward and...

In a fan-shaped area in front of Rebecca, the falling rain turned into a thick sludge that slowly buried the zombies caught in it.

Cole - Squad 4 (61)

Cole for his part decided to try and find out if there was a bead on where the ringleader was - this was fucking unmanageable - everybody was fighting and it looked like they were getting overwhelmed. And Cole couldn't really pour down any fire here without hitting them...

So he sent out a telepathic message to his Squad and then everybody else; Hey, anyone got a lock on where the ringleader for all this shit is at? Get me a lock on.

For right now though he had to focus on making sure things didn't end poorly. And that meant mentally tearing apart the various zombies as they tried to advance.

Marky - Squad 1

As for Saint Lad, he was at work trying to help Renee put her suit back together. He wasn't sure how much help he could be. So he just went forward with following her directions and trying to get her ready for the field.

Dammit...dammit...like, hella freaky out there. We gotta split soon and get out there to jack em up.

Van - Squad 3

"This...is not the longest battle I've ever fought. But it is the most annoyingly repetitive."

Van said as he sliced through a large number of the zombies, the creatures only sliding apart after Van readied his sword for the next batch. It did seem there was a prominent number of them. Not nearly as awe-inspiring as his grandfather's infamous armies of revenants and ghasts, but definitely a foe that demanded time.

"I think whatever's doing this...wants us distracted."

I.W. – Pursuing the Ringleader

Animus Dante was now trying to find the vile villain behind all of this chaos, and because of that burining determination of his, he went really far away from the Foundation.

The others seemed to be smoothly handling the hordes of zombies, so his help doesn't look like it'll be required.

With his enhanced sight, he was nearly able to detect the true form of the mastermind.

Hmm...I think I managed to detect them..., Dante thought he directed himself towards the ringleader.

Squad 3 – Saint Foundation HQ

"Damn straight this fight is becoming hella annoying!", Mari agreed with Male Mavis— ahem, Van.

Like, she can't beat up zombies until the end of times. Her glittering shoes are getting tainted with zombie remains, and it's a digusting sight!

"They won't stop coming if we don't do anything about their "boss"..."

Squad 4 - Iona

Iona had been about to answer Iuvem, opting to hide what had just transpired, before she felt an overwhelming force of sheer death in the area, as a sudden tempest appeared. She staggered back, slightly woozy at the disturbance of the Element of Dark. Her mind flickered into the Planes, but all she saw was a slow, creeping miasma of Dark approaching. Her body wouldn't move, waves of Elemental Energy too much to bear.

What in the world...what caused this?

Iuvem's voice brought her out of her stunned stupor, and she quickly cut off her sense of the Dark, panting. She ran to the window, looking down at the gruesome abominable army down below. A tiny spark of anger ignited in her.

"Who could desecrate such a sacred thing as death? Oh, I beg your forgiveness, Lord of Dark, for desecrating them further, but I must give them their eternal rest once more..."

Iona leapt out of the window, raindrops coalescing into a stream to carry her down to the ground. She looked to her squad mates.

"Go find whoever is behind this! I'll hold the tide, no need to worry!"

With that she got to work, arms, fingers and legs all joining her body in a flowing dance, the puddles and the stormy rain bending to her will as blasts of pressured water, tearing through the horde like battering rams. With a flourish of her hands, whips formed at her fingertips. With a slight clench, water frothed at one side of them, eviscerating an entire group with one clean sweep that followed.

"I could do this all day with this much water, wind and lightning!"

Radio Tower

Despite the near blinding rain, Dante was able to push himself forward as he drew ever closer to the one responsible for all of this. Eventually he made it to the radio tower, and with his enhanced eyesight, he was finally able to see who was responsible for this grevious assault upon their HQ. What foul villain was capable of conjuring up such vile fiends? What dastardly villain would dare manipulate the weather and defile the dead for their twisted ends? Who on God's green earth—

Oh.

It was Darkheart.

Suddenly things made so much more sense.

I.W. — Some Radio Tower

Animus Dante, as he flew closer to the radio towards, became capable to now recognize the mastermind behind this vile attack.

Wait...isn't that dude Gaea's token wizard...whats-his-name...Darkheart? He thought that — with the death of Elim and their bittersweet victory in that war — Gaea was pretty much done for!

Well, with his mastery over magic (including necromancy, apparently), Gaea's history with what formerly was Class 1 and his decision to exactly target the Saint Foundation's headquarters, Darkheart being the one pulling the strings of those rotting, moaning revenants seems much more plausible.

But now, with this revelation in mind, he first needs to update the others with a telepathic message...

"My fellow Wonders! I finally managed to reach our dear big bad's location, as well as recognize him. He's Darkheart, Gaea's wizard and one of their 'admins'!"

Hopefully the message will manage to reach them. After all, he traveled a pretty long distance...

Speaking of distances, Dante quickly started rushing towards Darkheart, launching yet another psionic blast at him as he came closer to the vile mage.

Lily – Saint Foundation HQ (Squad 1)

Oh thank god he went with it.

“I don't know if they have any heads or joints left, she said humorlessly, drilling a pair of her vortexes into a zombie's chest before spinning around to kick another in the side of the... weird swollen thing where the skull should have been. “I guess... dissection? Good as any strategy, I mean...”

She seemed to appreciate the rain of swords, as she soon followed it up with a cut through the air with her finger that promptly sent out a vicious assault of crystalline water needles to shred through those not hit by Sam's attack. She couldn't help but chortle slightly to herself—flashing a shy grin at him before palming another monster's face in with a palm spike.

“We make a pretty good team, actually...”

Emily – Saint Foundation HQ (Squad 3)

“You can project thoughts?” Emily asked Cole as she carefully stepped somewhat near to him; still keeping a small amount of distance between them in case he hit her by mistake. “I don't know how to do that. I'd find him but I can't feel out that far. Are you struggling?”

He seems pretty powerful so far.

In a rather... direct manner, she decided to help him thin the wave of undead coming their way. Mostly by targeting their heads. And then psychokinetically slamming them into any nearby blunt or sharp surface at breakneck speeds. Interestingly, it only seemed to be two at a time at most. And even then they were either relatively close together or caused to slam into the other for when there wasn't anything nearby solid enough to smash them into. She still seemed remarkably calm—flinching only when one of the zombies managed to catch a hold of her arm and promptly flinging him away with a burst of psionic force.

It seemed to have shaken her more than a little, as her voice was somewhat unsteady after that point and thereafter.

“They're not like zombies I know,” she commented. “I didn't know they smelt bad.”

Vivian-Squad 4-On The Roof-Smashin' Time

Ms. Courthope's (It felt like forever that she'd thought of her last name)daughter was no fool. Well, not usually. She'd spotted the flying bad guy but had waited to see if any of her compatriots would do likewise. Going it alone was foolishness. So she was reasonably glad when Dante also saw the target and took off at him. Not the teammate she'd have chosen, but any port in this storm.

The tall mechanoid took three big steps and then leaped up, aiming to land on the radio tower and then hopefully tackle him to the ground. As she flew majestically through the air, she began to pepper him with disruptive bursts of sound. She clicked on her communications as well and sent out a broadcast" Question for the Magic folk: does this guy likely have to speak to do his stuff? or can he just wave his arms?"

Cole - Squad 4 (48)

He smiled at Emily as she took down some of the zombies who'd managed to come in outside of his field. "Nope, I think I can go take out the trash. Seems Dante and company found the guy responsible. Guessing mage." He cupped his chin and said, "I'll help you get to thought projection once we're outta this mess."

Cole dug in his heels and kicked his powers up.

The result saw him flying off in the direction of Darkheart quite quickly, and he started planning out his method of attack. Darkheart it seemed needed to prepare before going forward with things.

So for now he hanged back and took aim at Darkheart, deciding a surprise was in order. He sent a telepathic message to Dante and the others heading over to Darkheart, "If you guys can distract him I can blast him down while he's not prepped for it."

Iridium Wonders - Slide to the Left

"Kh..." Mahvash broke from her operations to let loose laughing at that one. She placed a hand on her hip, they other on her sternum while she pretended to think about. "Why, yes sir."

Vivian's broadcast on the radio signaled that she found the necromancer. And she could pick Vivian out from this. And Dante—he had something incidentally. And Cole, hm, oh well. And considering the answer to Vivian's question is 'it depends', she could see that for herself without being told to.

Well, I guess we're dealing with the distraction, She nodded to the others, pointing out the way. "You can follow Vivian to the necromancer. But its not necessary. Or really desirable to have you in the middle when they cross the streams. If you spot Dante or Cole, they're going the same direction. Whichever way you choose, I'll leave 20$ on the counter for pizza. Play nice you two."

The lady gave her hand to the gent. "Okay, go have your wicked way with me on the floor. It is your honor."

I.W.-Paragon

Martin dipped down and pressed his lips to the back of her hand and smiled at her, humming a familiar tune as he began to move with her across the room. His dancing skills were subpar as anyone whose fighting style usually broke down to 'hit it hard until it breaks', but it wasn't godawful enough to be classified as a mess. As they brushed close to the wall he touched his hand against it, and suddenly the two were in the middle of the storm above the zombies heads, the wall becoming reality once more as traces of white flame flickered away from it and the space they had traveled. Maybe the wall wasn't 100% how it used to be, but the details were close enough to work.

The rain of course never touched them, a thin layer of black fire surrounding them and making a pathway in the air above the zombies, moving along to the song that wasn't playing."To you, a prayer of destruction composed as a eulogy toward all the evils of the world." he spun Mahvash one last time in the air and let the black flames under his feet disappeared, and fell toward the ground as black fire consumed his body, like wormwood descending to declare the end of days.

"Midnight Angel." his landing sent dark flames of destruction scattering around him in a large area, the exact reason he had picked a cluster of zombies as far away from the others as he could. This amount of power was dangerous, not to mention draining given how much harder it was to manifest Destruction then Love's unique flame. Still the results were undeniable, as a large hoard was devoured under a spreading ripple of flames. "Now then," he cracked his knuckles and let Love's power run through him, pumping up his body to 65%. "For an old classic, Medium Hero!" he raced into the hoard with a smile.

Squad 1 - Ellie

Perhaps realizing that her lightning bolts weren't coming fast enough to deal with the endless horde, Ellie descended, crashing down into the middle of the zombies with enough force to crack the concrete, body still sparking with electricity.

She spun on her heel and began to swing her arms at the zombies, extending her copper bracelets into whips as she did. Similar to Lily's whips, but with electrified metal instead of water. And far less graceful - where Lily was refined, and flowing, Ellie was as crashing thunder.

Each swipe of her arm was heralded by a razorblade of lightning, and she kept spinning on the slick, wet ground to maximize the arc it took. The end result was Ellie appearing as a demented, electrified buzzsaw, cleaving through the undead like butter.

Squad 3 - Mikael

"Looks like we'll need to step things up." Mikael raised his arm, holding it towards Octavius's cannons, and energized them just as he had last month. Then, he twisted the energy. Rather than the homing ability of Zamiel's Magic Bullets, he pushed his inner fire within them, willing them to be explosive, to burn. Mikael smirked. "Hellfire ghost cannons. What a time to be alive."

Sure enough, the next volley from the cannons struck the ground with mighty blasts, burning the undead and covering the ground with black flames that the rain could not douse. The fire would remain until Mikael willed it away, burning any zombie that tried to advance through it. With any luck, the horde would run dry before Mikael ran out of energy to sustain the flames.

Squad 4 - Nariko

She found the Necromancer quickly enough, even as the others zero'd in on him. Cole's telepathic message reached her mind a moment later, and she nodded to herself and thought back affirmative, though she didn't know if he could actually hear it.

An instant later, she was circling rapidly around the radio tower, throwing kunai at the robed figure from different angles with trained, inhuman precision. Left, then right, then back, then back-left, forward-right, right, forward. She never stayed in one spot for more than a split second, and never threw a kunai from the same spot twice.

Hopefully it would be enough of a distraction for the others to do something.

Radio Tower

As the zombies continued pouring forth over at Saint Foundation HQ, Darkheart couldn't help but look on with glee. Everything was going perfectly. The heroes were up to their necks in zombies and other foul creatures. Oh, they were putting up a valiant front, but sooner or later they would fall. And when they did, Bozo would no doubt pop in from whatever dark corner he was getting wasted in, and with the long-fabled Spell of Sobriety he had unearthed six months ago, he could finally vanquish his old nemesis once and for all! And those troublesome students would be eliminated as a consequence. What could possibly go wrong?

It wasn't long before he knew he shouldn't have asked that question.

His mystical senses clued in him just as they began their assault. He managed to vanish out of the way to evade Nariko's kunai, and casted a forcefield around himself just in time to guard against Dante and Vivian's assault. Still, having to defend against three attacks at once was enough to divide his attention. While the zombies kept coming, they were less in number and less aggressive than before, and the rain was starting to let up just a tad. For now, Darkheart was still in control. But only just.

And yet, despite the heroes' apparent success, they couldn't help but feel as though they were being watched. Whether or not it was merely paranoia at work remained to be seen.

Outside Saint HQ

As the heroes continued fighting the zombies, their stomachs started to growl in hunger. While they were slowly turning the tide, it was still hard to give their all on an empty stomach. Thankfully, their prayers were soon answered. Just as some of the heroes were being surrounded, a large armored pizza truck charged in from out of nowhere, plowing through the zombies as it skidded to a halt. Stepping out of the vehicle was a man with a chiseled jaw dressed in a torn plaid jacket and ripped blue jeans. He wielded a red chainsaw in one hand and a sawed-off shotgun in the other, and carried a large bag of pizzas strapped to his back. And as he glared at the horde of zombies around him, there was only thing he could say.

"Groovy."

Without hesitation, he began tearing into the zombies, ripping them to shreds and blowing their heads off as he made his way to the building. One way or another, this pizza was going to get delivered, spawn of Chthulu be damned.

Dammit dammit dammit...of all the times...

Charging up could be going better. He watched from afar as the bombardment on Darkheart began. He was at present charging up an attack, energy gathering about him, though remarkably slowly at present. Though he was happy to see it looked like the distractions were well at work.

Darkheart was of course his usual self, probably monologuing to himself about how he was soooo going to kill Dr. Bozo when he showed up this particular time. Like something had changed during the last year.

Vivian-Squad 4-Hush Hush Sweet Darkheart

Viv landed hard on the tower. If she was being honest, she nearly missed it, what with the driving rain and wind. As she rolled to her feet, she spotted Dante and Rattina charging in as well. Their combined attacks seemed to be at least distracting the floating bad guy, but Viv decided to hopefully shut him down. She'd never actually field-tested this, but what the hell, right?

Taking careful aim, she pointed a palm at the bad guy and began to run a specific program. Within a few moments, her hand opened into a strange configuration and a curious sensation would(hopefully) envelop him, while those nearby might get a small taste of it: disruption. Jagged notes and waves of sound at uncomfortable decibels, screeching and needles of noise. Every possible unpleasant sound possible beamed directly into his ears.

Iris - Squad 2

Iris watched as Martin and Mahvash left the room to dive into the thick of it. Through the wall, which was a neat trick. Which left her alone with Holiday.

"I.. uh.. I can... pro-probably, uh, work best from the... uh... roof... So I'm, uh, going there... yeah."

Blushing, Iris made a beeline for the roof before she could embarrass herself further, only taking a brief pause to fire a heat beam from the eye on Martin's chest when she was sure he wasn't facing any friendlies.

Once she got to the roof, she formed eyes all around her that moved to the sides of the building, firing heat and freeze beams into the hordes below.

Renée - Squad 1

With Marky's help, Renée was finally able to get the Salamander suit back in order, upon which she immediately got inside.

"Finally! C'mon Sainty, we need to get out there while there's still work left to do!" And down the hallway she ran, in the vague direction of the nearest exit.

Outside Radio Tower/Foundation HQ

Thankfully, Viv's new technique did the trick. The sheer decimals of sound were like an assault on Darkheart's eardrums, his very being. Which consequently made it that much harder to concentrate. No longer able to keep himself airborne, he drifted down to the nearest airport, the zombies and rain beginning to slow as he began to lose consciousness.

Not that it would be that easy.

"No. No! Not... Not this way. Dark... Dark Lord Golgoloth... Lend me your strength!"

Suddenly the rain regained its intensity, the clouds growing ever darker as Darkheart's now unconscious body floated into the air of it's own accord. It soared over to Foundation HQ, as though some other force were guiding it. In moments it came alive, uttering deep, guttural chants as the zombies and beasts were pulled into the air, circling around him. There was a brief pause before they all merged together at once, a ghastly purple smoke surrounding them until their metamorphosis was complete.

Where once was Darkheart and the beasts stood a towering behemoth. Standing on eight thick legs, it's black armoured scaly hide glistened in the rain, as did its golden markings. It loomed over the heroes, its long tail swishing back and forth and its glowing purple horns making it clear as day. It opened its wide, gaping maw, it's rancid breath enough to make anyone queasy.

Not wasting any time, it took one big swipe at the heroes. Only to be stopped in it's tracks. Before anyone could blink, an old man was under the claw, holding it up with all his might. His face was concealed by a gray hood and cloak, but despite his age, he was ripped to the gills. He spoke with clarity and puprose, and yet there was still something oddly reassuring. And familar. "Come on, everyone! This sunnvagun isn't gonna beat itself! Give it all you've got!" Regardless of who he was, he had given them an opening. The rest was up to them.

Lily – Saint Foundation HQ (Squad 1)

Ooookay. Giant... whatever the heck that was supposed to be. Lily stared slack-jawed at it for a few moments, before squashing her shock down and forcing an expression of calm and serenity onto her face. Following the strange newcomer's direction, she began to absorb as much of the water around her as she could manage—moisture in the air coalescing into visible streams that melted into her skin upon contact.

Something tingled down the back of her neck. Shooting down her spine. Something old, and primal. Otherworldly, somehow divine. But she ignored it. The absorbing process ceased abruptly, and she began to release her gathered water into a solid, rotating ball in front of her—an extra large variant of her usual vortexes.

“Ready?” she asked Sam, sending him a questioning look. Either he could do his own thing, or combine something with her own attack. In any case, she got the feeling it'd be a pretty solid manoeuvre.

After a while, she'd release it as a potent, concentrated wave of pure aqua up at the beast.

Emily – Saint Foundation HQ (Squad 3)

Emily didn't quite know what was happening, but what she did know was that it was extremely unpleasant and she wanted it to stop. Cole was charging up something like in those shows she liked to binge watch every now and again, and she'd effectively been given permission to join in, so...

Just like with the zombies, maybe...?

No. Something bigger.

Behind her, a large chunk of concrete ripped itself out of the ground by some invisible means; jagged gouge marks in its corners indicating where her clumsy psychokinesis had clawed it out and begun to lift it. It wavered slightly as she strained to keep it up, before she flung it forward with a thrust of her palms and all her mental might—aiming to (rather ungracefully) crash it directly into the spider-thing's face.

She felt a little bad for it, but it was quickly overtaken by the sheer revulsion she felt upon looking at it. She could barely look at it.

Tyulla – Saint Foundation HQ (Squad 4)

There was a pause from the Primordial. A glance to Mason. Then a glance to the Darkheart-creature. A glance to Mason. A glance back to Darkheart.

Then she grinned, cackled, and began to raise slowly up off the ground.

Only stopping one she was effectively level with the creature's head (though still keeping the same distance from it), she began to charge up. Ripples of dark energy pulsated from her before she finally stopped—clapping her hands together and laughing one more as crackles of dark lightning arced over them.

Disappear.

Rather rapidly, a pinkish ball of unstable energy began to expand from her hands as she opened them outwards and faced it towards the gigantic monster. As it grew to twice, then thrice her size, she drew it back over her head—only to throw it forward with all her might in the beast's general direction.

It was a rather swiftly formed imitation of her usual planet-destroying move. Except in this case, it was much smaller and much less dense. Whether it be willfully or through Mason's suppressor device deciding to work for once in its life, it simply was not as powerful as her usual ultimate attack. Thankfully, when combined with the others', it should have proven more than adequate.

Regardless of the consequences, Tyulla immediately let herself drop down to the ground, bounced off of it once, and then settled into a hovering lotus position; crossing her arms so as to wait patiently.

Cole - Squad 4 (67)

And there we go!

By now Cole was off in the distance as his classmates pinned and fought against the enormous monstrosity that Darkheart suddenly turned into. Bright blue streaks of lightning arced off of Cole as a tremendous blue orb hovered above him, easily two or three stories tall.

If he was right, firing this bad boy off would take that monstrosity apart. He just needed a little more time to charge. Just like a minute more, then he'd be able to fire it off.

With his charging almost complete, he was able to send off a telepathic message to the other classmates, Okay guys, almost got it - make sure that chunky bastard can't get outta the way. Iona, some Earth Magic to bind down his legs and arms would be real nice. Make sure you get outta the line of fire when it comes down. Splash zone's gonna be real big!

Squad 3 – Saint Foundation HQ

There now was some damn pizza delivery dude, who started ripping though the endless horde of zombies like it was nothing.

And as if things wouldn't get crazier, the zombies merged into a giant, eight-legged monster of a dark lord, whose breath smelled super fudgin' bad. Like, use some mouthwash for frick's sake!

Marisa was going to make a move, but then, a hunk of a silver fox considerate old man lifted it up, leaving the 'scary' (more like gross) dark lord open to any attack.

"Oooh~, thank you very, very much cloaked old man!", as she thanked the familiar old man, she running.

However, while running, she felt an unknown warmth.

What is this—, Mari's eyes were directed towards this warth's source: the Shimmer Shield. The ethereal shield was glowing with bright light.

This is...the same light from when I first found it!, lots of wet little raindrops suddenly pelted her body.

What the frick?! The jacket!, the warmth of her Shimmer Shield had distracted her so much that she loosened her grip on Emily's jacket, making it glide away until it touched the ground.

Mari would have tried to do something about the jacket, but...but...something happened to her.

Her sight had been enhanced to the point she could perfectly see the shape of those raindrops. Heck, she could even see her reflection on the nearest ones.

Mari then grinned, resuming her dash. If someone was watching, they would see that, at one point, she was starting to get quicker (enough to become barely visible) and gain some vertical height. However, she seemed to be frozen in a running 'pose' as she made this strange dash.

Apparently, Mari-Mira, while she was running, started warping from a raindrop to another one, accumulating power and speed as she warped over and over.

When she got to tremendous levels of speed and was near enough distance from the abomination, Mari's pose suddenly shifted into a dashing, kicking one as she flew towards the behemoth's face.

Iridium Wonders – Saint Foundation HQ

It seemed like Cole's strategy (even though he didn't perpetrate it himself) worked, and Vivian's sonic blast made Darkheart flee somewhere, making the rain slow down.

Animus Dante was going to follow him, but then zombie were sucked towards the Gaean mage's motionless body, triggering the appearance of a surreal, horrendous being called – according to Darkheart's last words – the Dark Lord Golgoloth.

The eldritch black beast went for a swipe, only to be interrupted and blocked by someone that was incredously akin to the now defunct Saint. And that left the creature open to an ultimate final blow.

Dante would start flying back to the Foundation HQ at great, growing speeds as he started spinning on his longitudinal axis.

At a reasonable distance from the Headquarters, he would then redirect himself towards Golgoloth by making a smooth, curve-like movement.

"Dark, vile monster! Prepare to feel the overpowering might of the Carnival Prince!", he yelled these words as he descended towards the Dark Lord like a missile.

Squad 4 – Saint Foundation HQ

First there was some rando who starting tearing through the zombies. Then the zombies abruptly fused into a terrifying black-scaled, purple-horned being.

Iuvem could feel a rotting, atrociously dark and evil aura from that eldritch octapedal being. Something inside him was gnawing at his soul (if he even had one...) and it was wanting out.

Iuvem held his chest with both hands, wincing from pain.

"Gggrrh...I...I will not let the hatred inside me take control!", he screamed, baring a toothy scowl.

His eyes stared at the beast, now recently restrained by the Saint lookalike. His orange irises were widening, with his pupils shrinking. His skin patterns were starting to quicken their rotation. The golem let out violent, pained wheezes.

"Urrrrrgh!", he quickly aimed both of his arms at Golgoloth, in a violent rage.

"It's time for you...to PERISH!", Iuvem yelled as he, by sacrificing both of his arms, unleashed a very big Storm Bullet towards the summoned evil.

Zach - Squad 1

Ah, of course Darkheart turns into that. Typical, end of the day sorta stuff over here. Though, he had to admit, the older guy swooping in sure did make him tilt his head in curiosity.

Well, he was never one to pass up an opportunity. But he still never was one to get in the middle of a massive collaboration of attacks, he was tough and could tank attacks but he sure couldn't survive all that. So he needed to really, really, really make sure...that THAT thing couldn't move either. So he swung his hands out and eight long, strikingly powerful tendrils of ink that swiftly wrapped around the creatures limbs, which then shot massive spikes into the inside to keep them locked down.

He just hoped it'd be enough to hold it down.

Octavius - Squad 3

"Alright then." Octavius grinned and cracked his knuckles, his arms, and his neck as he prepared for the fun part. "Guess everyone else is lettin' loose? Not 'bout ta be shown up by a bunch of land walkers, no sir! Let's show em what we go!"

He snapped his fingers and several more glowing rectangles appeared above and behind him, until there was no less than a dozen cannons aiming outward...all powered up by Mikael's hellfire.

Yep, he agreed with the statement, what a fuckin' time to be alive.

"READY...AIM..." The cannons all aimed properly with loud, satisfying clicks...then he swung his cutlass down. "RAIN FIRE!"

The air was filled with cannon fire, gunsmoke and if that didn't make you feel alive, fuckin' NOTHING did.

Mason - Squad 4

Mason felt a trill of excitement go through his body at the idea of getting show show off too. He grinned behind his helmet and reached up to press a button his switch, allowing the energies to course through his figure into a destructive kick-

-And then a massive world cracking ball, a seemingly endless assault of cannon fire, bullstorms, whatever the fuck Cole was doing, torrent of water, and whatever the actual FUCK was going on made him think that maybe it wouldn't be a wise idea to get remotely close to this thing.

So he moved his hand slowly, sheepishly down from the first switch and pressed the secondary, where the energies coursed through his wings instead and he took to the air. With a mighty beat of his fuex appendages, he sent several, emerald blades at the massive creature.

Not as showy, but it would definitely hurt like fuck.

Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?
