Marcus - Squad 1

Are you serious?

It outright made Marcus pause for a moment, the answer that Messiah gave. Not because of the depth in the answer, not because of the implications of it, the sheer potential of this multiversal nihilism argument. No. Marcus was left paused and speechless in sheer, unbridled rage.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's absolutely wrong. On every level. I-I..." He started, and then charged in suddenly, going right at the barrier - not even caring if he burned himself on it - he wanted to make this fucker bleed for making this war, doing all this, all for that lame fucking excuse. Multiverse? Multiverse? He's making everyone suffer here because he thinks someone, somewhere else made a different choice!?

"I do not give a single damn, Messiah." He said as he outright tried to force the barrier apart with his tactile telekinesis. "Martin, I don't care who did what in that big-ass old multiverse out there. I don't give a damn. What I do care about...is dealing out the pain on you for starting this war...for those lame-ass reasons!!"

He resorted to outright pounding the barrier with his fists, desperately trying to force the barrier, between his super strength and newly developed power, to break.

"You're not a Messiah, you're not a prophet!! You're a navelgazing douchebag who got banned from ranting at the mall! You don't make any points! You just want to use that all as an excuse to tell everyone else how to live. You're no great celestial savior. You're a joke, a farce, a paranoid controlling conspiratorial quack up jumped on power. You are sound and fury and nothing but!"

Vivian & Ma/Son-Liam's Warship

Viv was feeling pretty good as she jumped down to the deck of the warship. Around her the edges of her mulberry-colored coat flapped in the wind. She looked pretty damned cool if she did say so herself. Her weighted and reinforced gloves, boots, and armored plates were the same dark purple, while her pants, belt goggles and the ribbons woven into her hair were bronze. Somewhere down there Messiah was babbling about happy endings or something. Typical whacko bad guy shtick.

Reaching down to the sides of her belt, she pulled out a pair of nasty-looking hammers. Viv twirled them in her hands and sauntered forward, letting out a whistle to attract the attention of all the bad guys present. When they looked, she paused for a good moment for effect and then gave all present her best fighting grin. "My name is Hazard, but you lot probably know me as Vivian, and whatever you've heard about that other me...I can promise you I'm worse than her. But I'm feeling nice, so before we get started, does anyone want to get out?"

Squad 1 - Sam vs Sam - Nariko

Nariko was forced back as ice exploded from Zero, taking the form of a dragon of frost.

She hissed at the sudden chill, regretting the skimpiness of her costume for the first time. Though given it was cold enough to sting her through her fur, she doubted a thicker costume would have helped, not unless it was a parka.

She danced around the ice birds, casually avoiding them, until Zero froze the floor. Nariko was forced to retreat, almost slipping but for her sharp toenails barely finding purchase on the icy ground.

Fuck. She thought to herself. With the ground so icy, I can't run properly. It was actually a brilliant tactical move on his part.

Despite that, Nariko wouldn't let up. Keeping her distance so she wouldn't slip on ice, Nariko began to fling kunai towards the evil Sam. The knives came seemingly from all directions at once as she ran circles around Zero. Each one was expertly targeted at one of Zero's vital points.

Warpath - Flagship - Ellie + Mikael

The demon hordes scattered to avoid the flagship's counterattack, though a few were still caught by stray blasts.

Mikael, for his part, grabbed one of his fellow demons by the leg and flung them out of the way of an energy blast, before suddenly dropping to avoid another shot aimed at him.

They're desperate Mikael noted, seeing the massive cannon charge. Good.

Then there was a crackle of lightning, as Ellie appeared.

"Hey, baby." She said.

"Hey." Mikael smiled. "Evil Twin is dealt with, I presume?"

"Yep." She said, grinning back. "And the angel, too. Cain turned it into a zombie. Somehow."

"Weird. You'd think he'd have burst into flames just touching that thing. Guess God isn't paying attention right now." Mikael said, dryly. They both spun to avoid another shot, and in the process Mikael wrapped his arms around his wife, kissing her.

Ellie giggled. "So, wanna take out that big laser beam together?"

"Hell yeah."

The duo charged towards said big laser beam, Mikael summoning a barrage of what looked to be heavy gatling guns. Anti-tank autocannons, oversized, wrought of black iron and charged with demonic power. Able to fire steel-shredding explosive shells at ten thousand rounds per minute.

Ellie added her own power to the mix, and the guns began to give off sparks of electricity as they spun up. Transformed into railguns, the bullets they unleashed would move so fast as to set the air on fire. "Remember to say the move name, Mimi."

"Yeah, yeah." Mikael rolled his eyes. He wasn't one for calling his attacks, but Ellie had insisted.

Those on the flagship's command bridge would have a few seconds to see that the guns formed the shape of a heart, before the demon lovebirds raised their arms as one, each making a finger gun pointed at the ship.

"Love is-"
"-a Bang."

On 'bang', Mikael and Ellie both pretended to fire their finger guns.

Then the real guns fired, and with a roar of thunder the air became iron.

Foundation Ruins

Perhaps it was something one of the heroes valiantly pushing against his forcefield had said. Perhaps it was Holiday's blatant disregard for his rhetoric, or perhaps Martin's words hit a bit too close to home. Or perhaps the sheer amount of force was too much for him to handle. Either way, just as it seemed the forcefield wasn't going to budge, it suddenly gave. And Messiah was left speechless. It wouldn't be that easy, nor would he take whatever came next lying down. But at last, this was their moment to turn the tables.

Assuming they took it.

Savior Flagship

As mighty and dominating as the Savior's flagship was, it wasn't able to stand up to Mikael and Ellie's combined onslaught. It's forcefields already damaged by Zach's assault, the ship's cannon fire was suppressed with ease, leaving it utterly helpless as it was blown to pieces in a hail of gunfire. With its crew saying their final prayers as they too met their end.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of it. While the ship had been blasted to smithereens, there were still bits and pieces left intact. All of which had been sent hurtling to the city below by the blast. Much of the city was already in ruins, but if left unchecked, much of what remained would surely be reduced to rubble if the chunks of debris weren't dealt with ASAP.

Thankfully, someone else had already thought of it.

Another ship materialized into existence as if out of thin air. And yet, something about it seemed different. It wasn't painted gold like the Savior's ship, nor did it share their shining radiance or sleek designs. Instead it was bulky and imperious, painted in black and purple with red highlights. Designed to be more of a deathly deterrent than a holy messenger. But perhaps the biggest indication of its origins were the initials embedded upon the front hull in neon green:

L.L.

The ship didn't waste a minute in firing, though it appeared to ignore the heroes completely. Instead it opened up several ports at once and fired a series of bright purple laser beams at the debris, vaporizing them before Martin and Ellie could blink. Their job done, the ports closed and the ship turned away, zipping off towards Messiah and the larger battle at hand. For now it seemed to be on the side of the angels. But of course, only time could tell.

It always did.

Holiday – Foundation Ruins (Squad 2)

Holiday didn't shout in glee. Nor did she inform her comrades. Or even let herself reel back in even momentary shock like Nitram. All she did was lock her gaze firmly on his, rear back, and wind up for her strongest hit yet. She didn't aim for his neck, as much as she was tempted to. That would surely kill him. Instead she aimed for his centre of mass—which while now unprotected from his shield was more likely to just incapacitate him. She wasn't exactly certain, but it was at least better than certified death.

That and whatever else the others did. She'd left them room to get their own hits in. For a moment she almost pitied the false Messiah. But then she realised this was probably the only time he'd ever be truly hurt. In which case, deserved to be so in full.

Like the other impacts, the sheer air pressure from her punch would probably rip apart the ground beneath their feet upon contact with him. Even if it missed it'd likely stagger him due to the force. But she realised midway through that she'd overclocked. Left herself wide open.

It'd either not matter at all, or matter tremendously.

Zach - Squad 1

Yoink.

Despite his exhaustion Zach felt faster than he had in quite some time. And he knew that when the opportunity arose for something like this, you grabbed it and you throttled it.

"Opportunity" in this case being Messiah.

The field fell and Holiday made the first move because of course she did. Frankly he was happy SOMEONE opened up with a concrete cracking move of casual destruction, opened up the chance for everyone else to get in on that. However, Zach was never truly a smasher, or at the very least, out the gate someone to beat the hell out of someone, only when he was alone and needed to.

No, Zach had a better preference, and that was "Keep this poor, unfortunate bastard down and let him be a punching clown, the kind that bounced back up after getting smacked.

Only, you know, he'd be MAKING him bounce back up but eh, semantics.

His ink coiled around his limbs and he threw a hand out as a series of tendrils shot forward, intending to wrap around his arms and legs and letting everyone get a few good pot shots in. He knew for a fact this wouldn't last but a second but hey, sometimes a second was all he needed.

Time to take your medicine you psychopath. He thought as he gripped a fist and the tendrils pulled taut.

Ma/Son - Liam's Ship

"Monolouge if you have to, I'm keeping our brain power for Liam when he shows up, god knows we're gonna need it."

It was strange but Viv being here brought a strange air of comfort to Mason, hell, even to the Light!Mason! It was the weirdest sensation but for a moment everything felt normal.

But only for a moment.

Mason stepped up beside Viv and punched his open fist and looked around, his gruffer dark voice coming out of the speakers.

"And I don't even know if there's a Mason in this little back-ass-words universe you guys got but if you don't, well ain't YOU in for a surprise." He chuckled and cracked his neck loudly, turning his helmet slightly to look over at Viv. "So, you take the ones on the left, I take the ones on the right?"

Unbeknownst to him, the cracks on his face began to recede, but only very, very slightly.

Squad 1

Sam took the distraction as a breather, but Zero could block the shots, even if Sam made a leash to keep the dragon from freezing or trying to eat Nariko.

Taking a couple shots of his own, he decided to pull a more complex trick. Multitasking is the Everett family specialty, after all.

Throwing a bunch of his own spikes, cracking a shield in one moment. There were several knives flying to Nariko, which Sam swatted them out of the way with a club.

Nearly there... A blizzard started rising, as Zero used his dead arm to block a kunai.

But for a second everything stopped. All of Zero's constructs started moving against his will.

"What?" Zero said, as Sam chuckled.

"It sucks, doesn't it? Harder to do than some'd think, but I did it" He said. Taking control of an Everett's constructs is always a challenge. It meant overpowering the will of the others, and trying is impractical in a fight, but if it's done...

"Nariko, you have a clear shot!"

Squad 2

Ryuu saw the forcefield fall and decided to add some of his own power to the fray.

Looking around for the biggest pieces of debris he started applying his wind powers to act as if a tornado sent them flying on the direction of the wannabe Messiah.

"Yo, Psycho Martin" He yelled, using the wind to carry his voice way farther than it sending debris to fall like a catapult, one after another.

Vivian-Liam's Dorky Warship

She grinned at Ma/Son. "Sure, you can have half...if you two can keep up." With that she was gone, a blur of fists and iron.

The first lucky mook got the claw side of the hammers in his shoulders. He was abruptly pulled forward and into her face at a high rate of speed, then pushed backwards into two others. The next had the end of the hammer slam into his throat in an uppercut. A punch here. A blow across the face and joint dislocation there. On and on, a beautiful ballet of ordinary meat and fear being ground up by a top-class fighting machine.

Two or three recovered themselves from the shock of being boarded and tried shooting at her. They died.

No one laid more than a glancing blow on Vivian, and that one officer was rewarded by having the backs of the hammers temporarily impaled into her knees and then kicked smartly in the groin.

The last guard tried a side kick. Almost bored, Viv caught his leg with one arm, his chest with the other, and simply heaved him five feet down the length of the ship. As he struggled back to his feet, she met him with a dropkick. She quickly flipped back to her feet and used the motion to send the hammers blurring down at Liam's little robo-pal. No telling what kind of weapons that thing was hiding, and she wanted to take away and advantage she could before the big battle.

Squad 1 - Sam vs Sam - Nariko

Nariko didn't let up, even as she danced around the ice dragon that lunged at her. Zero's ice was faster than she realized, fast enough to actually strike her, if she wasn't careful. And one good hit was all he'd need; Nariko wasn't tough.

Then the attacks stopped coming. Nariko realized quickly that Sam had somehow taken control of Zero's ice.

Nariko was moving even before Sam confirmed that Zero was open; she flung several more kunai, one after the other, then leaped. The icy ground around Zero would throw off her footing, so she instead opted to not use the ground.

She landed on a kunai, before jumping off the next instant. She hopped from one kunai to another so fast that she was off each knife before it could begin to fall under her weight.

Zero would have a fraction of a moment to notice the white-gray blur flying towards him, before Nariko would collide with him. Her leg was outstretched in a flying kick aimed at his chest, and her ankle blade was fully extended.

Warpath - Flagship Destroyed - Ellie + Mikael

"We did it!" Ellie shouted. A cheer went up among the nearby demons as the barrels of the hellguns spun down.

Then the debris began to fall, and Mikael hissed and gestured. The barrels began to spin back up, but they wouldn't be ready in time.

Fortunately, a ship suddenly appeared to vaporize what remained of the flagship before it could crash into what remained of the city.

But the initials on the side made any sense of relief bittersweet.

"Is that really...?" Ellie trailed off, uncertain.

"Well," Mikael dismissed the autocannons, "If we can have a Saint who's evil, I suppose a Leon who's good isn't out of the question. At the very least, he's not our enemy at the moment. We have bigger fish to fry."

He raised his fist to signal to the rest of Warpath. "We have them on the ropes, soldiers! Now it's time to finish the job! Go forth, and unleash hell!"

The demonic horde cheered, breaking apart to clear out the city of the remaining Savior troops.

Mikael sighed, rolling his shoulders, which felt suddenly stiff.

"You used up a lot of energy on those guns, babe." Ellie said.

"I'll be fine." He insisted. "Besides, there's an old friend I need to see."

"I'm coming with." She insisted back.

"Suit yourself." Mikael shrugged, and they both took off towards the only other ship that stuck out from the fleet.

Liam's ship.

Liam's Warship

"Oh look. Our guards are almost as piddly as the flagship." Liam casually commented as the combined forces of Mason and Vivian stormed the airship, tearing through Thopters and assembled guards armed with the latest in his technology. However the minute that Vivian threw her hammers at Barnett through the chaos and the crowd, Liam's eye twitched and he caught the hammers with his mechanical limbs.

The hammers, formerly rocketing through the air, outright stopped at the impact - Liam's technology, like back during the fight with Mason in the Savior World, abnegating the force of the impacts. "Trying to go for my one friend though is a mistake you won't soon forget. Very well. Let's move to the PLANT Chamber."

There was a flash of light around both Liam and Barnett as the two of them were teleported to a further chamber within the warship. The guards and a large ensembly of inbound Thopters stepped up between the heroes and the obvious door leading to the "PLANT Chamber".

Liam looked over several hanging blue devices within the chamber, and overlooked the entry into the chamber. It was a tremendous, luminescent room with a strange energy visible from the floor that seemed to be channeled down from the many blue devices hanging around inside the room. He smirked a little and thought, now, let's see if Mason's learned anything...

Stepping up to a mic device, Liam spoke directly to the heroes fighting on the now battle riven bridge of his ship through loudspeakers, "I didn't expect Mason and the worse half of my least favorite ally to end up being the ones to make it up here. Half expected to see someone...functional."

The guards remaining and the Thopters hovering above them started to medley against the two heroes, the guards wielding crackling red blades of some kind connected to backpacks, and the Thopters wielding bright red energy blades of the sort used prior in order to eviscerate Mason.

Marcus - Squad 1

It did not take Marcus long to make his move.

He blurred and then moved, covered in a sheath of bright gold energy as he leaped around to Messiah's back - his leg amplified and swinging in at the back of Messiah's neck. A very reminiscent axe kick used in earlier circumstances, but far amplified in form now. Even as Marcus threw his kick at Messiah, he also readied his other leg for a follow up.

He was never more ready to fight than now.

I'm more than The Saint. And I'll prove that to you!!

No words needed to be said.

There was a moment of silence as the world as a blade entered the chest of Zero. Sam could only turn as the his counterpart let out a wheezing breath as his heart was pierced.Falling on the impulse and sliding on the floor due to the speed of the impact.

Sam could barely hold the Dragon down, as life seemed to slip away.

"Fitting" He said, weakly, the red marks starting to disappear.

"Didn't think it'd be so hard to see myself getting stabbed" Sam commented, wincing, with just a glance, he could tell it's gonna take a lot to save him from that.

"Lost on will" He noted, coughing some blood "Welcoming death was my mistake"

Sam could say nothing, but he felt himself the world seemed to drift so far away. His legs started giving out, falling to his knees...

Foundation Ruins

Messiah came to his senses just as Zach wrapped himself around him. Holiday and Marcus each delivered a whammy of a punch, one in the back and another in the front. Being caught between two equal and opposite forces resulted in Messiah's head nearly smashed between the two blows, and he would have been crushed were it not for having such levels of durability as to rival the Gods. As it was, he was hurt. Not maimed, nor severely wounded. Simply hurt.

And it was perhaps the first time he had so suffered so much as a scratch since he took his name.

Needless to say, he wasn't happy.

"BURN."

His eyes shone with a golden radiance as his body began to glow, bursting with energy before unleashing a nuclear blast the size of a city block. Everything around him would soon be reduced to radioactive rubble. And if the heroes didn't take action, they would surely follow.

IW - Foundation Ruins - Bomb Shelter in a Can

Yes, she really is paying attention, Mikael. And she's rescuing demons. Go figure. Significant build-up of light power about to go off. Mahvash did not stare. She located her own on the double.

Quickly, don't look at the flash, especially Iris, and keep your head below the edge of the trench. Nariko,    assuming she could hear Mahvash. Not like the ninja had to accept a call form her.    If you can get people to the trench quickly enough that would help.    Also, assuming Nariko took challenges.

What trench? Not idle during her words, Mahvash appeared, grabbing Martin, Holiday, and Ryuu in turn and reappearing with them some distance away, only to let them go—they would live—and dive into the ground, cutting a trench right behind Samuel with raw aura. Four covered. If it was not obvious, holding her own tightly while not holding back her poison would be a bad idea. And Holiday and Ryuu could theoretically fly.

Nearby demons, she simply and non-too-worried-about-being-gentle gave them instant cover. She cut huge wounds in the earth with stray tentacles and roughly shoved or dragged the demons in with biting winds.

Holiday – Foundation Ruins (Squad 2)

Even being grabbed by Mahvash didn't negate the fact that Holiday herself was volatile. As soon as the ACP was released she immediately ducked down into the trench and began to layer herself in a sphere of her reinforced armour plating—focusing the brunt of it around her power core so as not to let it catch light. All of her coolant systems were kicked into overdrive so as to keep herself below critical temperature. No matter how shielded she was, if she overheated enough she'd blow up anyway. And a conculium explosion intermingled with a full-blown nuke would effectively triple the danger.

She sent out a partially scrambled, desperate call to her brothers and sisters to protect both themselves and any others. Alex's mechsuit was sturdy but she wasn't sure if it was durable enough for this. She could only pray. Perhaps Kaylee had something up her sleeve. She didn't know.

By this point the ACP was completely encapsulated in a steel grey shroud of thick metal. It was undoubtedly going to melt under the pressure; or at the very least partially. But if she got out even with her functioning endoskeleton and core, she'd be happy. Because then she could claim she walked out of a nuke and lived without any exaggeration.

Again, she could only pray that the others would be equally fortunate.

Squad 1 - Sam vs Sam - Nariko

Nariko leaped off the fallen Zero, observing her handiwork with cold eyes. Her breath fogged in the icy air.

"I wish it didn't have to end this way. But you gave me no choice." She said, more to herself than to Zero.

A second later she was next to Sam, pulling his arm around her shoulder so she could hold him up.

"You did good, Sam." She smiled. "Let's get you somewhere safe. One of these days you're going to kill... yourself..." Nariko trailed off, realizing. "Sorry. Poor taste."

Then a telepathic message from Mahvash came in, and she paused. What trench? She managed to think, before the sound of an explosion reached her ears. In the distance was its source, a massive fireball that seemed to engulf an entire city block.

She realized quickly what had caused it, because she knew what - or rather who - was in that direction. And more importantly, she realized who would have been nearby that blast.

Marky. She bit her lip, torn. On the one hand, she didn't want to leave Sam. On the other hand...

"Hey!" A voice called, as a blue-scaled demoness swooped down. "I saw that ice dragon! You guys okay?!"

"Yeah." Nariko said, smiling at the familiar face. "Evil Sam is down. Sam just strained himself too much, is all."

Ellie 'tsked', grabbing Sam and lifting him up, cradling him like a baby. "Of course he did." She looked tired. "I'll make sure he stays out of trouble. You go help the others; that explosion looked bad."

Nariko nodded. "Thanks, Ellie."

And then she was off, dashing towards the explosion to search for Marcus.

Please be alive.

Ellie watched her go, then looked down at Sam in her arms. "You have to stop doing this to yourself, Sammy."

Warpath - An Old Friend - Mikael

There was a crimson blur as something suddenly smashed into one of the thopters, dragging it into the ground and crushing it. It quickly resolved itself into eight feet of red muscles, as Mikael rose, grinding the last of the thopter into scrap with one of his hooves.

"Hey, Mason. Viv. Hope you don't mind me crashing this party." He grinned, stepping forward to put himself between the guards and his allies. "You guys go after Liam. I'll take out this trash, then catch up to you."

That said, he raised a hand, summoning what looked like an RPG, and fired at the assembled guards and thopters.

Vivian-Blood & Thunder

As the glare and roar of Messiah's nuclear tantrum erupted below them, Viv instinctively shielded her eyes, hoping that Liam's vaunted technological prowess was all he'd boasted in this regard. The ship shuddered and groaned, with half-a-dozen alarms and sirens going off at once.

When Mikael appeared she couldn't help but grin. Yes, she'd been having a marvelous time. Yes, beating up these fellows had been a great warmup. But only a fool would discard help on a mission like this. "She shook her head at his words."Nope, Liam is Ma/Son's fight. I'm just here to provide backup and make my Fitbit explode." As she spoke, another minion charged her. Viv did the thing you see in movies: she caught the man's fist and simply wagged a finger at him before disdainfully pushing his hand away. "Push off. Adults are talking now." She turned her back on him and addressed Ma/Son as the red-bladed soldiers approached, perhaps more hesitantly now that Mikael had joined them.

"Ma/Son, you can handle him. He doesn't know you. You have nothing to prove. Maybe his tech is more efficient. Maybe a little more advanced. But if you made the same kinds of things he does, you'd be like him. A sad, empty little psychopath without bravery, kindness or any humanity at all. Hell, you were brave enough to test an unknown device on yourself to become a better hero. He'd never do that. He just takes and uses. You're already better than him. You don't have to beat him. But I know you can do it easily. So go get your genius on."

With that, she clenched her fists and leaped into the fray with a shout of "Vivian Smash!"

Sam could only softly laugh for a second. The world felt heavy, like he was underwater "Don't worry, I think I beat myself up enough for a good long while" He winced, feeling his consciousness slip away.

"Don't worry" He told Ellie "They won't die, they are all too stubborn to do so..." His eyes started closing.

A fallen man just took a look at the scene, closing his own eyes as his own strength vanished.

Did we even have... that? Zero thought, he felt himself running down his eyes Did we lose it?

A sad smile was obvious on his face, as his blood continued to fall.

No man is an island He thought, ironically And yet, every bridge got burnt

Sorry, everyone He thought Maybe next time, thing will go better

Wilma (3)

While Cain swooped, soared, and brought the pain on his enthralled archangel mount, Wilma was entrenched the fray with the rest of her comrades. As the explosion ocurred, she grabbed whatever forces from the Foundation she could get her hands on and teleported them all out of there.

They landed a safe distance away, while Wilma looked towards the ground zero. "Wow. Big boom," Wilma stated flatly. She could only hope the others made it out fine.

Liam audibly cleared his voice over the speaker, his voice seeming to come from multiple places in the airship around them, "How quaint, a pick me up speech while you send your friend off to die alone. How contemptible. But you know, there is another way this could all end. You don't make it out of here alive, and you don't master your new gear."

"Doesn't it just figure that both Vivian and Mikael are complete irritants no matter what dimension they're from. Vivian is a psychopath as usual - don't get terribly used to her allegiance. She'll do whatever she feels like, up to and including torture and undue violence, and then betray you when it fits her schedule and preferences."

"...And you lot leaving Mason to face me leaves me able to fill the air here with action." Indeed, for every Thopter that Vivian and Mikael destroyed, more replaced them - the air quickly beginning to fill with buzzing, adapting Thopters.

"You only have so many mistakes to make before you make the fatal one."

Marcus - Squad 1

Marcus had been caught completely flatfooted by the sheer force of the nuclear explosion and blown backward, crashing several times as he reflexively threw his arms up. He started to realize that as agonizing and burning as the feelings resultant were, he wasn't DYING. Which was in his mind all that mattered. He started to outright push through and power past and into the nuclear explosion. He needed to get to Messiah before he let off any more of these.

And then he realized he was parting the explosion around him, forcing it to the sides as he started to exercise his newer powers.

Huh. Maybe proximity TK is better than I thought it was.

By the time it finished, a significantly burned looking Marcus stood there with a somewhat crazed look on his face, a long bleeding gash from temple to jawline on the left side of his face. He then quickly moved in...

...And threw a punch as hard as he could, well past any consideration for preserving Messiah, right at the guy's face.

Ma/Son - Squad 3 - Air Ship.

If there was anything both Mason's could agree on, it was the fact they were growing very, very tired of Liam's voice.

The appearance of Mikael was welcome for both halves, one to clear the board and to the other, knowledge that he had another friend up here.

Viv's words certainly did spurn on something in him, the fires of his heroism or some such cliched' nonsense. But even the Light Mason had to admit, she was good at those silly littler heroic speeches.

And besides, this guy was talking about his friends like that, and he wasn't about to let him do THAT laying down.

So, when both of them looked down at the Dial that had failed in its original purpose, may have had further purpose elsewhere. He narrowed his eyes and gripped it tight, a silent nod that both of them agreed upon before he flipped the switch on his driver, an onslaught of flames erupting from his person and incinerating a few of the Drones that flew past him at the moment.

"Come out and fight me, Liam!" He shouted as he started walking forward. I don't care if I have to rip this whole ship apart too find you, I will! Now come out and face me you psycho, let's go, round two!"

Zach - The City

The explosion that totaled an entire city block SHOULD have reduced him down to atoms, Zach mused to himself. He should be a splattered mess on the ground, a burn mark for future generations to wonder if he was ever a person, or an art piece by someone pretensious.

So imagine his surprise when the explosion actually was blocked around the massive walls he'd created in front of him. Oh, he felt pain, it was some of the worst pain he'd ever felt, it felt worse than if he accidently fell into the ocean-

-but he was still alive by the end of it. Hands smoking, notable portions missing, he slowly lowered them and shrank them down to see the extent of the damage-

-Ow ow ow ow ow fuck that hurts-

And looked up just in the nick of time to see Marcus deliver one hell of a punch to Messiah's face. Was this the same jive talking 90's kid he met back at the start of the year?

...Yeah he was but hey, if he could do that much, then go for it big guy.

So, as the rubble fell around he decided to fall back into the fun. Leaping high into the air, he threw a hand out where a spray of razor sharp ink spikes rained down on Messiah.

Squad 2

Ryuu could barely react to the explosion, and got thrown out of the way, seeing an entire block getting nuked. For a moment, he froze.

He never imagined a Martin willing to do this kind of thing, but there he was.

"You know, talking to a fanatic was always a waste of time" His body started to change, his scales covered his body and his own body changed, his face started to turn more reptilian, his own fingers seemed to turn longer and clawed, and the shadow of a dragon became more tangible. "Guess it's just time to beat you down without considerations"

Ryuu went flying like a rocket, his cocked back to punch Messiah on the face. If he can unleash it, he'll let loose a category five on his face.

"You know, I can't help but feel you're even more divided than when last we squared off...how did that end again?" Liam mused in a rather bored tone of voice over the communications systems even as the walls seemed to glow around Mason as he proceeded down a long dark hallway - numerous red mono-eyes in fact. This was followed by a rain of pinpoint laser blasts coming from those red mono-eyes down at Mason.

"You're barely a scientist, Mason. Face it. You're beholden to the mythology of "the hero". You shout, you dash, you make a show. But after the show, you're found lacking."

Ma/Son - Airship

Don't pay any attention to him, he's trying to get a rise out of-

HOLY SHIT DODGE OUT OF THE WAY YOU IDIOT.

Thankfully Mason's reflexes were faster than he would have liked to admit, but as the bright red eyes focused on him, the fire chip was traded in for the Wind Chip, his form turning more lithe with larger, bird like wings and more importantly, increased speed.

So, he dashed down the hallway, faster than he would have in his Fire Mode, and thankfully dodged all of the lasers.

Well, most of them he thought to himself bitterly as the burn in his arms and a few in his legs caught his attention.

But in the end he burst out of the hallway and into...somewhere.

"You're going to need to do better than that!" He challenged, unaware of the inevitable biting his tongue moment about to occur.

Aquarius was awoken not by the rumbles that were happening in his room, but by the tabby cat that licked his face awake. The lanky yet short boy groaned himself up, not realizing the vibrations in his house. It was when his thankfully plastic cup fell and the hissing and meowing of the rest of his 9 cats did he actually pay attention.

"Another city attack??" He groans as he picks up his cup, while a cat of his jumps on his shoulder. "...Or..." He presses a button on the remote that laid on top of a bookshelf, which he reached by getting a ladder. He pressed a green button, and a telescope of sorts extended from the ceiling of his one-floor house. He peeked through, and saw that the city was in absolute ruins.

"No way, he was right!" Said the small man as he jumped towards his door, all the way from his spot. He grabbed a key from the pocket of his trousers and unlocked it. The door slid open, revealing a lift. He walked inside, then waited a few seconds to arrive at a hallway of sorts. As he walked down the hallway, he walked up the staircase and was met with a wheel on a door. He twisted it open, and exited...

His face was of alarming distress, and he stepped out, the door automatically closing then seemingly turning invisible. He noticed what appeared to be a few people fighting what appears to be a supervillain...

As Aquarius tip-toed away, he spotted a fox in a hole under a smashed piece of pillar. He attempted to push the pillar off from where the hole was, and the fox started to scream as he did. He slipped out once there was enough room, though, and ran away. Aquarius slumped down on the ground and sat on the pillar, watching the fox go.

I.W.-Trench

Martin saw the light before being blinked away in a moment by Mahvash, drawing a fresh sigh of relief and trying to do his best in order to not stare at the mass release of power that had just been displayed. He might have been able to survive that, but odds were that he wouldn't be in any fighting condition afterward. If they hadn't been able to get out he didn't think a single one of them would have been able to continue to fight.

"Well, that was terrifying," he muttered to himself, drawing in more power to boost his already drained stores. He knew that putting a lot of effort into the minions had been a bad idea, but just the same they had to be defeated. "If he was willing to go that far, he is probably worried. Or annoyed. Honestly I've never had the mood to blow up half a city so I can't really be sure what is going on in his head."

Be better, because what is the harm in trying?
