We all love seeing a villain or jerk getting their just desserts, but what are some times when you thought it came of as so excessive, it comes off as heartbreaking? Factors include the victim being left completely broken (bonus points if they start crying uncontrollably), the hero looking just as bad, if not worse than the son of a bitch, and the whole scenario evoking revulsion from the viewers.

You are referring to heroes here but Kick The Son Of A Bitch is for evil characters kicked by other evil characters. Quote: "...the Kick The Son Of A Bitch is always a case of Evil vs. Evil."

Nothing comes to mind regarding the victim being painted sympathetic by the brutality of the attack.

Kick The Son Of A Bitch is actually not intended by the kicker to be a "just desserts". It's only seen as one by other people because the bitch had just done bad things and thus seeing them getting bad things done to them is a form of catharsis.

Whether said bad things are deserved, on the other hand, is often the major question. By default, punishment by law tries to make it as fair as possible, but the "kicker" here usually doesn't care about that.

Without getting too heavy into spoilers and because I'm pretty sure being detailed about it could get me into trouble, what happens to one of the villains in The Rising Of The Shield Hero is really REALLY messed up. Even the main character feels disgusted by it and he has every reason in the world to hate their guts.

[up] Now, who/what did it said villain in the first place? The hero, another villain, or even the environment?

[up] It's done to a villain by another villain. If you really want to know you can go to the character page.
