OK, here's where this thread is standing, with the unlocking:
Given the widespread backlash and complaining about certain aspects of the work (i.e. Dexit), we wanted to communicate very clearly what we are not willing to put up with: prolonged, circular complaining (or wonking).
Of course, with a controversial subject that has a large impact on the gameplay, Dexit is in one of those areas where there it may be on-topic to discuss it, but the nature of that discussion can wildly vary. As has been said elsewhere, we ix-nayed discussion of Dexit entirely because it never seemed to happen without devolving into that kind of complaining.
However, we're willing to unlock the thread after this 3-day cooldown period because the Pokemon General thread has been stable enough. And -
Can I discuss Dexit?
Yes. But if there is prolonged wonking on it, the thread just becomes an echo chamber of complaints and we do not like that. No one likes that. The same rules as ever apply. Be a constructive, healthy space. Have conversations about what you like, and what you don't like, but the thread should not get locked into a series of bitter complaints.

So my copy of game informer came and i managed to take pics, retreads abit of info from the articles we recieved throughout the month but had some other neat tidbits too, like Zacian and Zamazenta are supposed to myths no one has truly seen, so people called them The Cyan or The Magenta

We'll probably get at minimum one more trailer the first full week of November (4th - 9th), if TPC are generous, then we might get another trailer next week or maybe this week.

I'd expect another trailer at or shortly before release. Probably going to have a bit of new stuff if people care to dig it out. Might also get some info dropped in early November, though I wouldn't expect much
Realistically, the next big reveal is going to be when someone breaks street date and everything gets posted online. Probably in a week or two?

As for an answer to your actual question, retailers usually receive their copies anywhere from a a few days to two weeks from launch. Some retailer warehouses will likely get them a week earlier than that.
I'm basing this off a quick search from around the internet for various games, so things might be different.
Also, most of the time something was sold early was usually a small mom and pop-esque store doing so.

When the leaks start coming, someone will make sure and let everyone know. It'll likely be me, but I'll (or someone else) will holler a mod to change the thread name to spoiler thread and make sure the main thread knows about the incoming leaks and to direct anything about the games to here.
Also, you'll probably just not want to come to the internet at all, because either an ass or an algorithm will end up spoiling you somewhere, including Reddit, Youtube, Twitter, etc.
Even so, some people are idiots and will risk their job for a few minutes of fame by stealing a game, either from the retailer they work for or out of the warehouse they work.

I've already filtered out my followed subreddits (ever since the debacle that shall not be named, there's too much toxicity anywhere these games might be a topic) and I only follow news-source Twitter feeds like Serebii anyway, so that just leaves Youtube. Hopefully I find out when the leaks happen ahead of time so that I don't get thumbnail'd by an unrelated video.

I agree. And to be honest we really won't know until we see how the game sells. I'll give them credit for trying not to spoil everything for us though. When the game gets leaked I'm abandoning ship. lol
That being said, only 3 weeks left. Well damn. I can see them maybe doing one more trailer, but other than that, that's it.
For some reason I can see them releasing a trailer on the day the games release that reveals something (relatively) big, like "Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are out now! Oh btw here are the starter evolutions, have fun".

Them being so coy with revealing Pokemon makes me feel like there aren't that many being added, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Those tend to be illegal characters in various applications, so I want them nowhere near close to my filenames.
