While I'd love to open this topic, since the name is terrible and I'm not convinced it's a distinct trope, we have enough work in TRS that we can't open a new topic every time there's an issue with a trope. You need to put in the effort to document misuse, by sampling examples and showing that they either misrepresent the trope or fit equally well in a different trope.
I'm closing this, but you're welcome to try again after doing the required work.

There isn't really much "waif" aspect to this trope, be it a waif by the actual definition or a Mysterious Waif. I'd suggest simply "Glacier Girl" as a new title, but…
On the more subjective side, I don't really see why Glacier Waif and Small Girl, Big Gun should be separate tropes. They're both about small girls carrying very large weapons, the only difference between them being the type of weapon they carry.
