Where do you get the idea that the pegasi having 21st century technology and all that stuff has anything to do with the royal family pretending to fly?

I got it because the unicorns have no modern tech and are living in squalor, and earth ponies have better tech and living but prior to ANG but still behind the pegasi and spent in/on militarized paranoia. It seems the Motivational Lie about flying was the difference that has resulted in pegasi having the better standard of living (most/best tech, most utopian of the three locals) and seemed the least racist (putting them in a Luxury Prison Suite vs. earth ponies planning war and unicorns straight hostility), and once the lie was exposed the pegasi slid to less civil and more racist offering further proof the lie was replaceable for keeping thing from getting bad

That sounds like a case that the lying that the work treats as wrong casing more good and preventing more harm than not. (You can say their wrongness was due to choosing to maintain the lie rather than cooperate with those who could help them exposing it, but that's not what the movie does).

This tweet suggests Bridlewoodstock was originally supposed to be set after Chapter 4, explaining why it's merch and advertisements spoiled Misty's Heel–Face Turn and new hairstyle. Some questions before adding these to Trivia.My Little Pony Make Your Mark:

• Is it worth spoiling out Misty's redemption given the merch spoiled it, seemingly everyone who cares about the work saw it coming, and nothing else on the Trivia page is spoiler tagged (including Twilight or is that since she was in the trailer and the entry doesn't give narrative spoilers)?
• Is it a What Could Have Been? (Misty's absence in the special and Chapter 4's "A Little Horse" establishing it was set after makes it seem like it was written to be set after before the animators got the memo, or was the scene made/recycled before the writing was decided.) Or is Production Lead Time a better fit?

Also for G5, is it Canterlogic or CanterLogic? (The MLP wiki uses the former but this wiki both ways.)

If the rumors that Starlight Glimmer will appear are true, how likely is it that they'll get Kelly Sheridan to return like they did for Tara Strong as Twilight?

Given they've Ellen-Ray Hennessy return, it's within reason.

The question is how can Starlight return/still be around in the centuries since?

Magical stasis? Maybe she managed to become an alicorn? Then again, it raises its own questions.

How likely would it be for the studios from Gen 4, Boulder Media and Wild Brain (formerly DHX Media) to be involved in the Gen 5 stuff here?

Plus she dabbled in time travel.

And at this point Misty's on the radar for Breakout Character given the amount of promotional material we've seen. At what point can she be added (deemed an after the fact response to her popularity, relating what is the Production Lead Time for G5?) or is promotions like this enough?

More previews involving Misty and G5's "The Cutie Mark Chronicles". Also, Chapter 5 comes out September 18th.

Since all the series advertisement is focused on Misty nowadays, it safe to call her Breakout Character? Or should we wait until Chapter 5 to say?

Not sure which MLP thread this goes to, but anyone read the 40th Anniversary comic? Has a G5 story and some placed in basically real life with focus on G1.

To clarify, the G5 story has the cast learning about Dream Valley.

Another trailer for MYM Chapter 5 (again Misty has a starring role). Major spoiler warning this time.

Now we need to discuss how to handle trailer spoilers. I propose not allowing anything (at least requiring spoiler markup) on the pages until the work airs. Any objections?

I kind of suspected that since a certain episode in the previous chapter.

There's also a new trailer on the Netflix After School channel, with another fairly big spoiler. I won't say anything, but I definitely didn't see that one coming.

I never expected the Breezies of all things being in G5. Also, I'm not the only one who thinks Sunny has been shafted in the shows, right? She barely feels like the main character anymore.

Scar himself looks like foreign, weak, and with very female moves.

Sunny seems like Twilight in Equestria Girls; starred in the 1st movie and got the ball rolling, then that role fulfilled delegated main character role to worthier characters. Even in S1 of FIM Twilight was the everyman who took until "Lesson Zero" to come out on her own as a character.

Sunny's arc was kinda completed by the end of the movie. There's not much else to go with her except maybe an adjustment period for her becoming an alicorn full time. One of the TYT episodes hinted that she's destined to become the new leader of Equestria, but it's not certain how far they'll go with that concept.

So is there any reason why the voice actors from A New Generation didn't return for Make Your Mark and Tell Your Tale (going from Los Angeles to Toronto for voice cast)?

The Los Angeles ones are more expensive so...

On that note I intend to add Tough Act to Follow under ANG as much of the complaints again G5 seem to be failing to live up to the success/popularly of the movie. Objections?

I've also seen many who state they don't care for G5 content after ANG so is that Fanon Discontinuity?

Chapter 5 came out today.

So, any idea why Gen 5 was aired on Netflix instead of Discovery Family/The Hub like G4 was? G4 still airs reruns on Discovery Family so rights aren't the issue for the channel.

A New Generation was supposed to get a theatrical release, but COVID nixed that. Presumably they still wanted something more prestigious than a straight to TV release, and Netflix was the most popular streaming service at the time and/or made them the best offer.

Maybe Hasbro felt it made sense that since ANG fans had Netflix it was the best place to put their premium G5 content (Tell Your Tale being the free promotional material). Or maybe the exclusivity was just part of the price of Hasbro doing business with them.

Thoughts on if Slow-Paced Beginning apply to Make Your Mark? Did if pick up enough by/after Chapter 4, or is it still too slow paced?

I don't think it fits because while Chapter 5 is arguably more plot focused than the previous four chapters the show is still meandering around things. Misty's backstory reveal and the reveal about the dragons are elements that are rushed through but otherwise things are still as slow as ever.
