Yeah, I feel we can do better. Not in a place where I could search for replacement ideas, though.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm not really finding anything good, either.
EDIT: Maybe a crop of this?◊

Too similar to Make an Example of Them.
Since, "reverence" is part of the trope maybe we could use a picture of Jesus? Or would it be too offensive?
EDIT: How about Lenin?

Spiral out, keep going.I thought about Lenin...I'd be okay with that if nothing else is suggested.
Same here.
(Annoyed grunt)Some Suggestions from BioShock
and a crop of the first one. I'm not a fan of the unfortunate aiming reticle in the image but I don't have the time to source a shot of this location in game myself right now or do a decent job of editing it out

I dunno, that seems to have overlap with Make an Example of Them too, if that "SMUGGLER" behind him is indicative of anything.
I was also thinking of suggesting that scene from The Silence of the Lambs, but it's probably too gruesome for the site.
Spiral out, keep going.Clock is set.
What about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs?

Of those, I'd lean toward the non-Disney takes...her being inside a glass case is more visually indicative than just laid out to dry in the sun.

The problem with any one pic is it will only reflect one variation of this trope while there are five (four if you acknowledge Make an Example of Them as a subtrope).
My suggestion for the new page image is from the SpongeBob SquarePants episode, "Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost". In the episode, SpongeBob finds a comic book of the origin of the Flying Dutchman, which reveals that when the Dutchman died, his body was used as a window display, and now he haunts the seven seas because he was never put to rest.
Reclocked. Crowner?
If the concern is trying to find one image that could adequately portray this trope, what about a collage?
The clock's up and I'm not seeing enough consensus on anything. Locking up.
It's just a silhouette; I can't really tell what's going on. The subtitle helps, but then it might as well be a page quote. Anybody got a better image?
