As someone who's never had LEGO toys growing up, I have no attachment to LEGO. I'm not into building things but I've always thought Playmobil was more appealing than LEGO. They're cuter looking.
An entire movie about it seems weird, but there are plenty of silly licensed films. Isn't there still a Tetris film coming out?

Speaking of which, when is there going to be an official entry about it? There are already people reacting to it, so a YMMV page is a must.
I hope it has it's own thing and tries to be original.
Boring! Where’s mah K-Nex Movie?
That would be the tits!
Let's hope's not Emoji Movie bad.
I want a Tyco movie, and throw Dr. Dreadful and the Dino-Riders in it while you're at it.
It already has a trailer, where is the page?
You can make it yourself

New theme music also a boxlets bring this back from the dead with a new trailer
Looks like they may be dropping the live action parts and Daniel Radcliffe is voicing a main character.
Plot Summary
"A top secret organization has caused citizens from different lands to vanish from thin air. The dashing and charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher (Daniel Radcliffe) must partner with smooth-talking food truck driver Del (Jim Gaffigan) and Marla (Anya Taylor-Joy) a smart, savvy civilian with her own secret agenda, to rescue them. Against unthinkable odds, the trio go on a fantastic journey across stunning new worlds as they gather clues for their rescue mission"
They have a character named Rex? Who's a parody of action-movie heroes? I detect an ichthyic aroma. . .

I hope they try to be their own thing, instead of just being The Lego Movie but with Playmobils.
Bump because the movie is out already, at least in Spain (gonna see it on Monday).
If there's a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it. Toni MorrisonI’M BACK FROM WATCHING THE FILM AND I CAN CONFIRM IT’S AWESOME
It’s a nice story and despite needing an explanation for exactly HOW the Playmobil world works, I think it will be explained in the sequel (cuz this is so going to have a sequel because of Rex’s car’s cameo and the Big Bad being placed again by the manager).
Charlie having Super-Strength was nice considering he was a kid in a toy’s body.
I now ship the Amazon and the Pirate Guy (who’s name was Bonebeard or something) so much.
Also, who exactly is Marla’s Love Interest in the movie? Both Del and Rex get a lot of Ship Tease with her.
If there's a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it. Toni MorrisonTo be honest, that's an even bigger surprise than the LEGO Movie turning out to be good.
"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"Jim Gaffigan is in this movie? Well, that makes me more optimistic about it (plus what JTTWlover says about it). Still not sure I want to see it in theatres, though.
Review of the movie:
Apparently, it's not anywhere near Emoji Movie bad, but it's still an obvious take off of the Lego Movie, without really understanding what made The Lego Movie good in the first place.

Remember Playmobil, that one underrated LEGO alternative?
Well there's going to be a movie about them that's being released in theaters in August 2019!
It's also going to have some well-known celebrities such as Adam Lambert and Meghan Trainor provide some of the voices.
However, this isn't the first-ever feature-length animated Playmobil movie. There's actually a whole series of them (but virtually all of them seem to have been direct-to-video), with the first one being 2009's "Playmobil: The Secret of Pirate Island".
A lot of people are saying that Playmobil: The Movie is going to be a ripoff of The LEGO Movie, as the former has many elements that are very similar to those of the latter.
