There are more than a billion people in the world living in regions where Google is blocked even if one has Internet access. This creates trouble using TV Tropes' internal search engine, which appears to rely on Google. Here are 3 options I can think of for dealing with this:

A. Give TV Tropes its own search engine, not attached to any pre-existing one.

B. Attach TV Tropes to a pre-existing search engine that isn't blocked anywhere.

C. Craft tutorials on how to find TV Tropes articles without a search engine. (Ie. How its URL system works, etc.)

These options need not be mutually exclusive. What say you, TV Tropes?

Actually, TV Tropes does have its own in-house search function. It's just buggy and needs some tweaking- it gets confused by double-quotes, in that it seems to be trying to pull up wiki pages whose titles contain double-quotes, and if what you're searching for doesn't exactly match a page title, it may not find it. But it's being worked on.
