Mention of Scorpion reminds me of something else non-spoilery to discuss: A video from a funny channel I found recently rating ten of MK's ninjas (including cyber-ninja) from best to worst:
Animalities get plenty of mockery throughout.

RE: Scorpion: He was always an independent actor. In the very first game, he bailed from the tournament after he killed Older Sub-Zero. He got involved with the second game's plot when he heard "Sub-Zero" supposedly survived. He then found out that the Sub-Zero there was the younger brother of the man he killed and vowed to protect him as atonement. When Shao Kahn invaded Earthrealm in the third game, Scorpion decided to help only to hear Younger Sub-Zero was to be killed, necessitating Scorpion to betray Shao Kahn only to be beaten and thrown back into the Netherrealm. The fourth game had him working for Quan Chi because the latter "had information" that Younger Sub Zero killed his wife and son. When Scorpion brings this up to Younger Sub Zero, the latter claims he didn't do it, Scorpion believes him, Quan Chi appears, admits I Lied, and attempts to take Scorpion back to the Netherrealm but Scorpion takes Quan Chi with him.
Deadly Alliance's prologue was Quan Chi sweet-talking Moloch and Drahmin into fighting Scorpion while escaping to Outworld. Scorpion and the two Oni he fought followed and when Scorpion attempted to infiltrate Shang Tsung's palace, Moloch and Drahmin ambushed him and threw him into the Soulnado.
Deception had Scorpion saved by the Elder Gods, who make him their hitman. Scorpion was to kill the recently-resurrected Onaga but most likely decided to let Shujinko do the killing blow.
Armageddon had Scorpion demand the Elder Gods restore his dead clan to life in exchange for his services. The latter do but are zombies like him. He then heard about Taven and Daegon and their quest and decided to kill them as a middle finger.
For the current continuity, he apparently got killed by Younger Sub-Zero, now named Kuai Liang, while killing who might be Bi Han/Older Sub-Zero during Armageddon. In this continuity, he works for Quan Chi, though that might be Shinnok's doing. That ended in X.

Accidentally double posted, please ignore this one.

Does Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, Quan Chi's introductory game, establish he has anything to do with Scorpion's resurrection into a specter?
For context, link is to a Reddit post claiming that unlockables are either grind heavy or locked behind microtransactions.
I question this, because I recently saw a video (here it is, video's week old and microtransactions are brought up at 10:25) where the devs explicitly state microtransactions would be strictly cosmetic and that there weren't going to be loot boxes.

Technically speaking, all that stuff is cosmetic. The only thing that isn't, I think, are the Brutalities.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. So, should we create a leak/spoiler thread? Because there are some things i want to talk about but unfortunately we are trying to avoid spoilers
Uni catThey've been building up to this ever since MKX so it's not too surprising. Injustice 2's whole gear system was the next step but they were smart enough not to make it too intrusive or necessary to enjoy the game. Now here we are with the popular grind or pay model a lot of games are adopting lately.
Yeah, I think that that would be good.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.I'd question if the spoiler thread is that necessary given the game is out in a few days, but avoiding spoilers has hampered discussion a bit so it's probably not a bad idea.
Go to the bottom of the page and click the Start a thread link.
Then just write in the name and write up the opening post. Done and done.
One Strip! One Strip!Took a while because i'm dumb but here it is
Uni catSo no spoilers, just a general:
Is the story good or not going by the stuff?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Without knowing any details even with spoilers, all I can say is people are complaining but people always complain so it's unclear how much of it is worth taking seriously.
I kinda feel bad for Netherrealm. It's been one leak after another.
And tomorrow there is a Kombat Kast.
Uni catAnd I've already seen Frost and both her Fatalities. Also a new "finisher" called Mercy.
BTW Frost looks pretty hot.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, the worst of it, leak-wise, will be over with when the game releases proper over the next day
There's also the DLC datamine. That probably would have preferred to reveal those themselves.
I remember this one quote about Final Fantasy XV on the Final Fantasy forum on here that goes something like "It has a lot of fans, but then again so does every other AAA title out there".
I feel like in this case the opposite of that quote is true as well. It gets a lot of bashing, but then again so does every other AAA title out there.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Frost proves everyone deserves a 2nd chance.
I think she's awesome in this game.
Agreed, i love her new look.
Jacqui seems to have won some fans this time around too.
Review embargo lifted.
Reviewers are giving the game high praise...except for the Tower of Time and Krypt portions being heavily grindy.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
Ah yes, the classical "i was so angry, i willed myself back to life as a revenant"
