I think that's the whole point of the Arcade endings since 9. They're hypothetical plot ideas for future games. Netherrealm hucks them out into the public consciousness, then canonizes the ones that seem really cool.

So with that in mind, what would you say to Mileena pulling a heel face turn along Kitana and Jade?

Depends on how they do it, really. I'd love to see more exploration of Mileena and Kitana's relationship in general, whether as foes or surprise allies.

Honestly, my favorite potential-plot-thread Arcade ending right now is the one where Dark Raiden flips the dynamic. He's all like,

• Raiden: Outworld! I'm here to conquer!
• Kotal Kahn: Ah-ah-ah! I don't see ten consecutive Mortal Kombat victories.
• Raiden: ...are... are you f*cking serious right now?
• Elder Gods: YES. YES, HE IS.
• Raiden: ...wow, this feels strangely familiar.
• Elder Gods: It's almost as though you've been in this position before. As though you've lived these events from the other side. Perhaps you might meditate on these events. There may be something for you to reflect on.
• Raiden: I'll go gather my warriors for the first tournament.
• Elder Gods: raiden no. stahp.

I'd love to see that game. All the evil Earthrealm characters fighting for Raiden. Earthrealm's forces trying to figure out how to help Kotal Kahn. Outworld fighters banding together to defend their realm.

• Raiden: Why is Cassie Cage fighting on their side? As an Earthrealm native, she's disallowed from entering as an Outworld combatant.
• Johnny Cage: Oh, it's cool. She's my daughter and I'm ethnically Outworlder.
• Raiden: No, you're not.
• Johnny Cage: On my mother's side.
• Raiden: Sofia Bianchi-Carlton was born in Italy. She runs a linguini shop.
• Johnny Cage: Hey, don't be trying to whitewash my mom!
• Raiden: What?!
• Johnny Cage: God, this always happens in Hollywood! It's fine for a character to be played by minorities when they're an extra. Nobody even knows their name. But then they become important to the plot and suddenly producers are demanding a white person!
• Raiden: I'm not—
• Johnny Cage: Did it ever occur to you that minorities deserve to see characters onscreen that represent them and their experiences?!
• Raiden: I didn't mean— I....
• Tournament Announcer: Kano versus Cassie Cage. FIGHT!
• Sonya Blade: I still cannot believe that worked.
• Takeda Takahashi: I can't believe Raiden even agreed to let your mom cater the event.
• Kung Jin: I can't believe the Oscar committee snubbed your latest film.
• Johnny Cage: There is no justice in Hollywood, kid. (munch munch) Mmm, that is some good Outworld linguini.

There are rumors that something bad happened to our boy Reptile and Erron had something to do with it.

Those rumours are based entirely on Erron using jars of Reptile’s acid as a weapon.

Ok we get it. You guys hate Hsu Hao. I mean, everything wrong with him is technically your fault since you created him, so yeah.

You gotta admit, this would have happened sooner or later.

The Collector has an opening animation where he reveals he's in possession of Shujinko's right kidney. It looks like a normal kidney, but he helpfully pinned a photo of Shujinko's face to it.

Fans spend years speculating that Shujinko actually survived because you can live with only one kidney, only to be vindicated when the next game announces Shujinko as a playable character. Everyone is then confused when the explanation for his survival is not the popular fan-theory, but rather that it was someone else's kidney entirely.

Heads up, someone has an early copy of the game. They also showed Shao Khan's fatality.

Also, Frost looks cool and it seems some outfits still have Skarlet's short hair and some with her ponytail from 9.

Man, it's going to be hard dodging spoilers for a whole week (plus one day).

Why do people think Erron killed Reptile just because he has a jar of acid? Weren't they allies in MKX? The more likely explanation would be that Reptile lent some of his acid to Erron for him to use.

People just jumping to the worst conclusions cause their fav didn’t make it in.

And now I'm imagining Reptile filling a cupboard's worth of jars with horrific Zatarran acid spittle for his cowboy buddy.
