What’s everyone’s opinion if we’re getting more character DLC later this year?

I would be somewhat happy.

I don't know why I would be somewhat happy, since I still feel like Reptile & Takeda should've been in the game to begin with.

Also, not looking forward to hearing recycle stock dialogues later on the lines like they did with I2 & MK X.

Injustice 2 IIRC was specifically due to a VA strike.

Fine, I guess. Be weird though, seeing as they’re selling a content-complete version now.

Why would it be weird to have more DLC for a successful game?

Because they rereleased the game to stores with all the DLC already.

Considering all complaints on Aftermath being overpriced, I got pretty good feeling NRS is going to do something to justify the price in the long run. There's also a pretty good chance that they won't do anything at all either.

And because of covid-19

Was it really overpriced that badly? Given what we got I was expecting at least $30. The price we got was higher but not by much.

If there are more DLCs coming, who would you like to see? I wouldn't mind seeing Rain or Smoke make a return.

Smoke, Havik and 3D era females.

I don’t think Rain will come since they already did DLC for him in MK 9. It’s one of the reasons he wasn’t DLC in MKX, unlike Tanya.

Smoke was my favorite character back in the day, but then I mostly follow this game for the plot, interactions and interesting 3rd party reveals rather than the gameplay.

For plot purposes, I think the best pick is The Great Kung Lao (as a new character, natch) finally getting a character slot. It would allow them to bring in a character from MK lore without acthetually revealing any of the story past Aftermath if they don't want to yet. For the 3D era, I'd love Shujinko or Li Mei.

For other 3rd parties, to hit that sweet spot of popular, willing to kill / from a series with a lot of iconic violence, and not impossible for Warner (or whoever buys MK now) to get their hands on is actually kind of tough. The theme for this game for third parties was more action hero / villain characters vs the slasher theme of last time, too.

If I were to pick another DC character, I think I'd go with Constantine. Occult magic - and not the same kind as the magic characters already in the game - which allows him to do interesting and strange things for moves and fatalities, an interesting personality which is getting more and more prominence in adaptations these days, and DC's shown on several occasions that they've got no problem brutalizing or killing him.

A fun idea for a guest character that I've been thinking of is the Afro Samurai from...... Afro Samurai.

From a really gorey series & he regularly gets brutalized as well, he'd be perfect.

Plus he makes frequent use of his scabbard when blocking & attacking so something interesting can be done there.

And for other fun recommendations from the same series, there's also its other 2 iconic warriors, Justice & Jinno. Both of whom voiced by pedigree V As.

Ya got Justice, a mutated cancer-ridden cowboy voiced by Ron Pearlman in a lisp willing to go toe to toe against anime swordsmen with guns & prone to making the most awesome speeches about Godhood & using unlimited power to bring about unlimited peace.

And Jinno, a berserker cyborg dual swords samurai in a teddy bear mask by Yuri Lowenthal who just goes absolutely ham in the role in his devotion to getting his revenge on Afro.

I propose Ryu Hayabusa of Ninja Gaiden fame.

I know is never going to happen but I will love the prince of persia.

Why? a guy who travel time, meet a woman who is the guardian of time, who also protect a houglass who use sand to travel time.....

I wouldn’t mind Harley Quinn either if she had a Kira skin.

I'd like to see Ermac come back as well as either Kung Jin or Takeda. Also, I'd like for Kratos to come back.

I wont mind a DC guest, I mean there is always a MK in jnjustice, returing the favor would be nice.

For anyone who has done/is doing Character Towers, looks like they recently added in new stages. I just finished Spawn's and now there's a Stage 6 I don't remember seeing before. The other Tower sets I beat also have a stage 6. In all cases, the rewards look like Jinsei Essence Augments, which offer character-specific bonuses. Upon completing Stage 6, each individual tower has Brutal Difficulty unlocked, which makes me assume at that point you can just re-do those towers if you want more rewards.

Rather than outright grindy requirements like do X Fatalities or X Fatal Blows, each tower in the Stage is one fight and you pay Koins, Souls or Hearts for each attempt.

Speaking for myself, this is just fine as I was maxed out on Koins and need something to sink them in.

Also, on my online seasonal progress, I played 5 sets the past 3 days each, to satisfy the Daily Challenge requirement. First two days I got 3/5, tonight I won all 5 and ranked up from Apprentice to Kombatant. I streamed the second day of matches, but now wish I'd done the third, too. Ah well.

Noticing the D'Vorah I fought had the icon for the current low ranks on her skin, I wonder if this isn't so much something new as something unlocked by playing online which I just never had access to before?

Editing to add: Another NR game, the first Injustice is being given away until June 26th. Xbox One is only handing out the base game but Steam and PS4 are offering the Ultimate Edition.
