I've read the first 8 chapters so far. Pretty good, though not really groundbreaking so far. Thankfully the fact that the hero is immortal doesn't kill the suspense too much, as the stakes are elsewhere. The art does have a sort of old school brightness to it, which is quite pleasant.
Also, Rosalie is the best. Like, damn these two are made for each other.
Yeah, Rosalie is the best to the point when the flashbacks start happening, you almost wish series had instead been about her since from start
I am... I'm a pretty consistent reader on this. ^_^
Anyways, the manga actually reminds me of Berserk world wise but with an optimistic and bumbling protagonist which prevent it from grimdark territory which is cool.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell.""Lighthearted Berserk" seems like an apt description, yeah. X)
Full with uncensored harpie boobs. That's surprising in a weekly shonen mag. Anyway, glad to see Jane become a traveling companion. We couldn't have Sawyer be always alone.
@Lyendith I thought Marry Grave was on Shonen Sunday... But yeah, so far I love most of Shonen Sunday works especially this one, Memesis, Detective Xeno, Kimi wa 008, Kekkaishi and Karakuri Circus which I have been consistently reading for now
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Huh, thanks for recommendations, I'm gonna check those ones out
@Spooky Mask You mean the mangas from Shonen Sunday... Np mayne! ^_^
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Yeah, Shonen Sunday is a weekly shonen mag. I wasn't talking about Weekly Shonen Magazine.
Welp you got me
Anyways, I do really like this manga. Riseman, while seemingly out of place, its hard to hate him and he's one of the most entertaining and charming protagonist I've ever seen. Although I have to admit that the current arc is rather dragging too long, I think its alright I guess...
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Chapter 17…
……
Why is Rosalie not the protagonist again?
It would be nice if she becomes one haha. But even then, I'm cool with Riseman. He's an idiot but in a lovable way
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Riseman isn't bad, but Rosalie is so great
Chapter 41 out:
And now its time for the story to back to the present after a hundred years. And seems that Riseman meets Rosalie like girl who wants to attack her so yeah
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Chapter 42:
Seems that Not!Rosalie and Riseman work together to fight against the mimic that ate Jean the Fairy and Riseman had an interesting plan which resulted on him getting eaten. Can't wait to see the next chapter.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Riseman: I have an idea!
Mimic: *Eats him*
Riseman: I'm a genius!

Press f to pay respects :(
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Aww man, seriously?
Late to reply on this but have to admit that this news feels rather disheartening. Unless if the manga truly have a cult following in Japan or in the west or getting a Kimetsu no Yaiba treatment, it could possibly have a chance to survive but as for now... No.
Even then, I actually wish the best of luck for the author regarding his future works. Marry Grave is truly a breath of a fresh air tbh
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Huh? It's ending already? Huh, I guess buying the French edition won't be too big of an investment then.
Anyway, I'm at the big flashback around chapter 20-25 now. Not a huge fan of Dante, I find him a bit cliché (and of course you had to call you demon-slaying swordsman "Dante" ) but Rosalie is still an absolute joy to watch, even as a moody kid. I'm curious to know what she run away from… Also, Sawyer was an idiot even as a kid, that's good to know.

I'm caught up to latest translations (chapter 42), and my god this really is shonen Berserk. >.> I'm even starting to wonder if that "Golden Age" flashback shouldn't have been a Prolonged Prologue, plain and simple…
Rosalie is a blessing to this world, to the point the author blessed us with a mini-Rosalie. I guess that confirms Rosalie was pregnant during the attack, which is probably why she couldn't use magic (though I'm not sure why that would be). We also don't know what happen to Dante, now that I think of it.
Welp, now to read the 8 untranslated chapters. One thing's for sure though, if the series really ending soon, it's not for lack of popularity. Chapter 42's color page literally has "HUGE POPULARITY" plastered on it.

Have to admit that I want to see the series continue tbh like holy hell it truly deserved its Cult Status.

"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Chapter 45… As expected, the girl is Sawyer and Rosalie's great-granddaughter. Rosalie was actually pretty damn lucky to find a haven where she could raise her kid for 15 years. That also means she was more than 40 when she actually started her journey, yet she still managed to complete the recipe!
I love Sawyer's strategy to beat the Mimc, by the way. Getting eaten, then poisoning Rosalie's corpse to poison himself and give a stomachache to the Mimic was quite brilliant. I love when immortality is exploited in creative ways like that.
@Lyendith Sweet! Although sadly it wont last long
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."And I'm all caught up at chapter 50!
…If there's one weakness I can point out in this series, it's the antagonists. The author focused so much on making us care for Sawyer and Rosalie that he completely forgot to create interesting villains, and it shows in this "final fight". It's cool to know more about Dante's past, but man do I not care one bit for the cliché cardboard cutout that is Medusa.
It's really a pity that the series is gonna end prematurely on arguably its weakest arc.
So bit late for halloween, but has anyone else been reading this? From what I noticed it does have trope page, but I haven't seen discussion on this.
It starts off with first chapter being really clumsy with exposition, but it grew on me really fast(it doesn't harm that it feels old school in good way and art is pretty awesome in how it sticks out, like seriously, creature designs are really awesome)
In general though I'd like to see more discussion on this since its easier to develop balanced opinion on manga I read when I see other people's opinion on it too. So uh, yeah, has anyone else been reading this and what you thought about it?
(on side note its also really weird in that its one of only manga I can think of that really becomes great when it flashbacks)
