I would say for this trope that the interaction should be an adult to a child. Perhaps it could be played with like parent doing this to their adult child. However Adult with authority to other adult does not really fit in my opinion. At least not for some of the reasons listed in the description.
Looking through the examples a number of the adult to adult examples don't fit particularly well.
While these tropes might not fit the scenarios perfectly we do have Screw the Rules, I Make Them! and My Way or the Highway.
While a boss talking to a subordinate may use the precise words, the context is usually very different. That said, the fact that the trope's title is a line of dialog inevitably contributes to this sort of misuse.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Cool, so such examples as the one on the page about GMs talking to their players, all the Warhammer 40,000 ones (that are terribly indented anyway) and both the Discworld ones would be misuse?
Ew. When it's in an RPG, that would count as Rule Zero, and RP examples would only be listed in articles for those RPs, not broadly in the main article for the RPG in question.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Because I Said So should be a Super-Trope instead, that's my opinion.
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenza
There sees to be a little disagreement between the trope description and the Laconic for the Because I Said So trope. While the description is talking solely about parents (or adults in general) doing this to children, the Laconic just mentions people in authority doing it to those without authority. A quick scan of the examples themselves show the majority being adult/child interactions but does include other things, such as military officers/politicians and their subordinates, as well. As such I was wondering which is correct.
